Published classroom materials form the basis of syllabuses, drive teacher professional development, and have a potentially huge influence on learners, teachers and education systems. All teachers also create their own materials, whether a few sentences on a blackboard, a highly-structured fully-realised online course, or anything in between. Despite this, the knowledge and skills needed to create effective language learning materials are rarely part of teacher training, and are mostly learnt by trial and error.
Knowledge and skills frameworks, generally called competency frameworks, for ELT teachers, trainers and managers have existed for a few years now. However, until I created one for my MA dissertation, there wasn’t one drawing together what we need to know and do to be able to effectively produce language learning materials.
This webinar will introduce you to my framework, highlighting the key competencies I identified from my research. It will also show how anybody involved in language teaching (any language, not just English!), teacher training, managing schools or developing language learning materials can benefit from using the framework.

2. My product will be a phone stand made from wood as it has a better appearance and is also
cheaper, this will be sold internationally as this product would be needed by everyone. This needs
special techniques in manufacturing it need a soft and smooth surface to place the phone on and
also on the sides that will hold the phone from the two sides.

It will be hard from the outside but will have smooth surface from the inside it will have a button
on the back that increases the size of the stand with inside zippers so it could fit different phones
with different sizes, the colours used will be black or grey as these colours are unisex which will
be wanted by both sexes.
4. Performance Requirements
A test that could be made is pacing the heaviest and largest phone on this stand and test if it
stands balanced. Also the most important part of the product is the part that makes the phone
stand stand safely without collapsing.
5. Sustainability
The lifespan could be 5 years or more depending on how frequently the user uses the stand and
also the environment and the temperature, but anyways the product will be wood that will no
melt or will not be easily effected by the temperature.
6. Materials , components and manufacture
Wood and rubber will be mainly my materials as they look good and rubber will be the best
smooth surface to use.
7. User Requirements
This product will be mainly used for people working-out and struggling where to place their
phones safely. Most important feature for the phone stand to be holding the phone safely no
matter how it moves.
8. Function
My main function is to have a phone stand that hold peoples phones safely while they are
exercising. It needs to be small or more specifically comprisable and lightweight so it encourages
more people to carry it around without worrying about its size or weight.
9. Consideration of innovation
One of the smart or modern materials used will be the button that increases the surface area of
the stand to hold bigger sized phones. I will not use any printed stickers on the stand so it does
not get specified under a certain gender which will decrease the sales variety
