 How do students currently user the lockers?
 What do students like about the current set up?
 What would be an ideal set up for students
(keeping in mind it must be secure and
accessible)?
 For administration: What space, and budget,
and other considerations exist.
 Using the info gathered from users and
stakeholders, generate ideas.
 Include people who will build the lockers as
well as designers.
 Create prototype based on brainstorming
session.
 Get students' feedback on design.
 Get Administration feedback and buy in on
design.
 Student focus group test prototype in design
lab
 Administrator focus group test prototype in
design lab
 Incorporate changes based on input and
observation of prototype test
 Build and implement a sample of lockers in the
school (One grade? One physical area?)
 Students use test lockers and keep diary of
experience
 Designers observe students user lockers on at
least two occasions
 Administrators write weekly report about their
experience/observation
 Revise design based of field test
 Over the summer, build new lockers
 All students use new locker design
