ABSTRACT
• DURING THE RECENT DECADE,WORLD HAS WITNESSED BIG OIL SPILLAGE ACCIDENTS IN TO
OCEAN AND MADE HUGE IMPACT TO THE ENVIRONMENT.
• SOMETIMES OIL IS GETTING SPILLAGE THROUGH BEGING THE RESULTS OF CHRONIC AND
CARELESS HABITS IN THE USE OF OIL INDUSTRIES AND OIL PRODUCTS.
• IT IS ESTIMATED THAT APPROXIMATELY 706 MILLION GALLONS OF WASTE OIL ENTERS THE
OCEAN EVERY YEAR, WHERE AS MORE THEN HALF OF THAT SOURCED FROM LAND DRAINAGE
AND WASTE DISPOSAL.
• OFFSHORE DRILLING &PRODUCTION OPERATIONS ARE TYPICALLY CONTRIBUTING LESS
.THEN 8%OF THE TOTAL WHERE AS ROUTINE MAINTENANCE OF SHIPS
(NEARLY20%),ONSHORE AIR POLLUTION &HYDROCARBON PARTICLES (ABOUT 13%) AND
NATURAL SEEPAGE FROM THE SEA FLOOR (OVER8%) .
• THIS HAS CAUSED EVER LASTING DAMAGE TO AQUATIC LIFE .TO SEPARATE THE MIXED OIL
FROM THE WATER ,INDUSTRIES WIDE VARIOUS TYPE OF OIL SKIMMERS ARE GETTING USED
.HERE WITH,THE OBJECTIVE OF THIS PROJECT IS TO DESIGN A ROLLER TYPE OIL SKIMMER
.THE ROLLERS ARE MADE UP OF MATERIAL WHICH HELPS IN ABSORBING THE OILLFROM
WATER WHICH CAN BE SCOOPED OUT AND COLLECT IN TO A VESSEL BY PROVIDING PIPING
ARRANGEMENTS.THE COLLECT OIL CAN BE REUSED FOR MANY PURPOSES .
INTRODUCTION
• OIL IS ONE OF THE PRECIOUS CRUDE AND BEING USED IN MANY ROUTINE APPLICATION OF
HUMAN LIFE .
• SINCE MOST OF THE OILS ARE TOXIC SO QUITE DANGEROUS FOR ALIVE WHEN IT COMES TO
DIRECT CONTACT WITH THEM .
• DURING THE YEARS OF RECENT DECADES, WORLD HAS WITNESSED MANY OIL SPILLAGE
TRAGEDIES AND SUBSEQUENT DAMAGE TO ALIVE AND ENVIRONMENTS .
• MANY CONTRIES HAS MADE STRINGENT SAFETY NORMS FOR WASTE WATER DISPOSAL
CONTAINED WITH OILS MAINLY TYPICALLY FROM PETROCHEMICAL AND PROCESS
INDUSTRIES.
• SO, THAT SUCH INDUSTRIES ARE EQUIPPED WITH SUCH KIND OF OIL SKIMMERS TO SEPARATE
THE OILS FROM DISPOSAL WATER .
• THE CONTINUOUS REMOVEL OF OIL FROM PROCESS FLUIDS , INCREASES THE LIFE OF THE
FLUID RESULTING OF,
• A)REDUCE THE MACHINE FLUID REFILLING COST .
CONSTRUCTION
• THE BASE OF FRAME WHICH HOUSES THE OIL SKIMMER ARRANGEMENT IS FABRICATED
WITH THE HELP OF SQUARE TUBES AND CHANNELS BY METAL CUTTING AND METAL JOINING
PROCESS CALLED WELDING.
• THE ROLLER WHICH SHOULD BE IMMERSED ON THE OIL AND WATER MIXTURE IS ATTACHED
TO THE SHAFT AND PLACED ON THE BASE FRAME WITH THE HELP OF BEARING SUPPORT TO
ATTAIN A FREE ROTATION.
• THIS SHAFT IS ALSO COUPLED TO THE DC DRIVE WHICH IS MOUNTED ON THE BASE FRAME .
• AT THE LOWER END PORTION OF ROLLER THE SCRAPPER VESSEL IS PLACED BY CONTACTING
THE SURFACE OF ROLLER .
• THE SCRAPPER VESSEL IS ATTACHED WITH THE COLLECTOR PIPE TO COLLECT THE OIL.

• DURING THE RECENT YEAR THERE ARE LOTS OF OIL ACCIDENTS HAPPENING IN THE OCEAN AND IT
MAKES HUGE IMPACT ON THE ENVIRONMENT. SEA ACCIDENTS CAN FURTHER CAUSE OIL POURING
AND CAUSES POLLUTION .DURING THE TRANSPORTATION OF CRUDE OIL IT REQUIRES THE SAFETY
MEASURES IN PORT TERMINALS .
• SO,IT BECOMES NECESSARY TODEVELOP THE OIL SEPARATOR SYSTEM .IN THIS PAPER WE HAVE
IMPLEMENTED OIL SKIMMER SYSTEM WHICH SEPARATES OIL FROM THE WATER .
• IT IS OPERATED BY USING BLUETOOTH. BELT SKIMMER SYSTEM IS DEVELOPED IN WHICH IT
CONSISTS OF FLOATING DISK AND BELT . SYSTEM IS TESTED AND IT REGAINS MOST OF THE OIL IN
THE WATER .

OIL SEPARATOR FRAMEWORKS ARE ACCESSIBLE RIGHT NOE EVERY WHERE . IN OIL
SEPARATOR FRAMEWORKS BELT IS A STANDOUT AMONGST THE MOST ESSENTITAL PART

• THE BELTS ABSORB THE OIL FROM WATER WHICH CAN BE SCOOPED OUT AND COLLECT IN TO
A VESSEL BY PROVIDING PIPINGARRANGEMENT .
• THE COLLECTED OIL CAN BE REUSED FOR MANY PURPOSES .
WORKING PRINCIPLE
• INITIALLY THE ROLLER IS DIPPED INSIDE THE POLLUTED WATER SURFACE FROM
WHICH THE OIL TO BE REMOVED . WHEN THE MOTOR GETS TURNED ON IT MAKES
THE ROLLER WHICH IS DIRECTLY COUPLED TO IT TO ROTATED IN A CLOCK WISE
DIRECTION .THIS MAKES THE ROLLER WHICH ABSORBS THE OIL AND WATER TO
ROTATE , THIS ROTATION REMOVES THE WATER FROM THE ROLLER SINCE THE
DENSITY OF WATER IS LESS WHEN COMPARED TO OIL .
• WHEN THE ROLLER MOVED AGAINST THE SCRAPPER VESSEL EXTERIOR FORCE IS
APPLIED ON THE ROLLER DURING THIS CONTACT WHICH REMOVES THE OIL FROM
ROLLER AND THE REMOVED OIL IS REPEATED CONTINUOUSLY TO REMOVE THE OIL
FROM THE POLLUTED WATER SURFACE .

ABSTRACT • DURING THE RECENT DECADE,WORLD HAS WITNESSED BIG OIL SPILLAGE ACCIDENTS IN TO OCEAN AND MADE HUGE IMPACT TO THE ENVIRONMENT. • SOMETIMES OIL IS GETTING SPILLAGE THROUGH BEGING THE RESULTS OF CHRONIC AND CARELESS HABITS IN THE USE OF OIL INDUSTRIES AND OIL PRODUCTS. • IT IS ESTIMATED THAT APPROXIMATELY 706 MILLION GALLONS OF WASTE OIL ENTERS THE OCEAN EVERY YEAR, WHERE AS MORE THEN HALF OF THAT SOURCED FROM LAND DRAINAGE AND WASTE DISPOSAL. • OFFSHORE DRILLING &PRODUCTION OPERATIONS ARE TYPICALLY CONTRIBUTING LESS .THEN 8%OF THE TOTAL WHERE AS ROUTINE MAINTENANCE OF SHIPS (NEARLY20%),ONSHORE AIR POLLUTION &HYDROCARBON PARTICLES (ABOUT 13%) AND NATURAL SEEPAGE FROM THE SEA FLOOR (OVER8%) . • THIS HAS CAUSED EVER LASTING DAMAGE TO AQUATIC LIFE .TO SEPARATE THE MIXED OIL FROM THE WATER ,INDUSTRIES WIDE VARIOUS TYPE OF OIL SKIMMERS ARE GETTING USED .HERE WITH,THE OBJECTIVE OF THIS PROJECT IS TO DESIGN A ROLLER TYPE OIL SKIMMER .THE ROLLERS ARE MADE UP OF MATERIAL WHICH HELPS IN ABSORBING THE OILLFROM WATER WHICH CAN BE SCOOPED OUT AND COLLECT IN TO A VESSEL BY PROVIDING PIPING ARRANGEMENTS.THE COLLECT OIL CAN BE REUSED FOR MANY PURPOSES .

INTRODUCTION • OIL IS ONE OF THE PRECIOUS CRUDE AND BEING USED IN MANY ROUTINE APPLICATION OF HUMAN LIFE . • SINCE MOST OF THE OILS ARE TOXIC SO QUITE DANGEROUS FOR ALIVE WHEN IT COMES TO DIRECT CONTACT WITH THEM . • DURING THE YEARS OF RECENT DECADES, WORLD HAS WITNESSED MANY OIL SPILLAGE TRAGEDIES AND SUBSEQUENT DAMAGE TO ALIVE AND ENVIRONMENTS . • MANY CONTRIES HAS MADE STRINGENT SAFETY NORMS FOR WASTE WATER DISPOSAL CONTAINED WITH OILS MAINLY TYPICALLY FROM PETROCHEMICAL AND PROCESS INDUSTRIES. • SO, THAT SUCH INDUSTRIES ARE EQUIPPED WITH SUCH KIND OF OIL SKIMMERS TO SEPARATE THE OILS FROM DISPOSAL WATER . • THE CONTINUOUS REMOVEL OF OIL FROM PROCESS FLUIDS , INCREASES THE LIFE OF THE FLUID RESULTING OF, • A)REDUCE THE MACHINE FLUID REFILLING COST .

CONSTRUCTION • THE BASE OF FRAME WHICH HOUSES THE OIL SKIMMER ARRANGEMENT IS FABRICATED WITH THE HELP OF SQUARE TUBES AND CHANNELS BY METAL CUTTING AND METAL JOINING PROCESS CALLED WELDING. • THE ROLLER WHICH SHOULD BE IMMERSED ON THE OIL AND WATER MIXTURE IS ATTACHED TO THE SHAFT AND PLACED ON THE BASE FRAME WITH THE HELP OF BEARING SUPPORT TO ATTAIN A FREE ROTATION. • THIS SHAFT IS ALSO COUPLED TO THE DC DRIVE WHICH IS MOUNTED ON THE BASE FRAME . • AT THE LOWER END PORTION OF ROLLER THE SCRAPPER VESSEL IS PLACED BY CONTACTING THE SURFACE OF ROLLER . • THE SCRAPPER VESSEL IS ATTACHED WITH THE COLLECTOR PIPE TO COLLECT THE OIL.

SEA ACCIDENTS CAN FURTHER CAUSE OIL POURING AND CAUSES POLLUTION .DURING THE TRANSPORTATION OF CRUDE OIL IT REQUIRES THE SAFETY MEASURES IN PORT TERMINALS . • SO,IT BECOMES NECESSARY TODEVELOP THE OIL SEPARATOR SYSTEM .IN THIS PAPER WE HAVE IMPLEMENTED OIL SKIMMER SYSTEM WHICH SEPARATES OIL FROM THE WATER . • IT IS OPERATED BY USING BLUETOOTH. BELT SKIMMER SYSTEM IS DEVELOPED IN WHICH IT CONSISTS OF FLOATING DISK AND BELT .   • 8. WORKING PRINCIPLE • INITIALLY THE ROLLER IS DIPPED INSIDE THE POLLUTED WATER SURFACE FROM WHICH THE OIL TO BE REMOVED . WHEN THE MOTOR GETS TURNED ON IT MAKES THE ROLLER WHICH IS DIRECTLY COUPLED TO IT TO ROTATED IN A CLOCK WISE DIRECTION .THIS MAKES THE ROLLER WHICH ABSORBS THE OIL AND WATER TO ROTATE , THIS ROTATION REMOVES THE WATER FROM THE ROLLER SINCE THE DENSITY OF WATER IS LESS WHEN COMPARED TO OIL . • WHEN THE ROLLER MOVED AGAINST THE SCRAPPER VESSEL EXTERIOR FORCE IS APPLIED ON THE ROLLER DURING THIS CONTACT WHICH REMOVES THE OIL FROM ROLLER AND THE REMOVED OIL IS REPEATED CONTINUOUSLY TO REMOVE THE OIL FROM THE POLLUTED WATER SURFACE .
