The students have been working for two years to save trees in Jaipur that were being damaged by cement and tar being poured around their bases. They started with 10 students and have increased to over 30 students. They have saved 160 trees so far by removing the tar and cement with the help of local residents. People's attitudes have changed and they are now more supportive of the students' efforts to save the trees and protect the environment. The students feel a great sense of pride and achievement when they see the trees they have saved growing healthily and providing shade. They have pledged to save every tree in Jaipur from tar and are working with an environmental NGO called 'Srishti' to help expand their efforts.
