Dermama stem cells therapy shows promise for treating leprosy (Hansen's disease). Leprosy remains a serious problem in Indonesia, with over 17,000 new cases reported in 2011 and nearly 2,000 of those in children. Current multidrug treatments have not significantly reduced new cases and access to antibiotics can be limited. Dermama stem cell therapy was able to heal severe, chronic leprosy symptoms and infections within 3 weeks, demonstrating potential as an effective alternative or supplemental treatment to antibiotics.
