DEQA 2021 profile
1.
2. Designing defining moments shapes our work and our practice.
In a blink of an eye, life passes in a continuous series of 3 second moments.
There are 875,000 moments in a month and an average of 500 million moments in lifetime.
We only remember the Peaks and Valleys, the Highs and Lows.
We design for for those Peak and Highs.
We create impactful, sensory experience ecosystems that use the
power of design to inspire and impact the everyday.
DESIGNING IN MOMENTS
3. After ten years of refining our design process, with the experience of over 150 concepts
designed and 120 completed projects, and with our values as a foundation, our studio
has evolved to where we are today as DEQA.
DEQA designs ideas, places, and moments that impact how people live, think, and feel.
We draw upon the values of collaboration, human-centrism, and optimism to drive our
process and inspire innovation. We focus on human experience and dialogue to
engage the senses and develop deep empathy.
We design at all scales, from the micro to the macro, working from the outside–in and
inside-out, to create narratives through space. We strive to make exceptional design
every day and to make the everyday impactful.
We continuously pursue our purpose to co-create with others so that
the imagined is experienced, meaningfully and memorably.
We design for you and, more importantly, with you, these defining moments.

Light as the primary material.
Light allows us to see visually experience architecture. It
also enables us to perceive time, space, form, depth,
texture, and color. It influences our moods, our wellbeing,
and guides the activities that we do in a space. This project
is a case study on how light shapes architecture and lives of
this home for a photographer and his growing family.
