This document proposes a thesis on homodyne optical line terminal (OLT) and optical network unit (ONU) design for access optical networks. It discusses migrating from time-division multiplexing/wavelength-division multiplexing (TDM/WDM) to pure WDM, and challenges with intensity modulation/direct detection (IM-DD) and heterodyne systems. It presents network schemes considered and the OLT/ONU philosophy of using phase-shift keying modulation for both upstream and downstream. Potential ONU schemes discussed include an optical phase-locked loop ONU, phase/polarization diversity, and phase/polarization scrambling.
This document outlines a study that aims to develop, implement, and evaluate a blended learning approach within an undergraduate physiotherapy curriculum. The study will assess appropriate teaching strategies and stakeholder attitudes, analyze curriculum alignment and module appropriateness, develop a blended learning module, and implement and evaluate the module. The methodology will include a literature review, surveys, document analysis, and process evaluation. The goal is to promote student-centered, inquiry-based, and self-directed learning through a blended approach.
The document outlines a research proposal to investigate the impact of computer education workshops at the Ottawa Public Library on senior citizens' awareness of personal information disclosure on Facebook. It discusses prior literature on seniors and social media which found benefits but also barriers. The study aims to address gaps and provide information on how library programs can help increase seniors' digital literacy and reduce concerns regarding privacy and lack of skills. Interviews and content analysis of transcripts will be used as the methodology.
