This PowerPoint presentation represents what deforestation is, the reasons behind it, the results of deforestation, and the measures to prevent deforestation.
2. Reason Behind Deforestation
Demand for land has been tremendously increased due to population
explosion.
Land requirements for human habitats has resulted in large scale destruction of
forest and agricultural land.
This process of forest destruction is known as deforestation.
Large quantity of wood is needed for building construction and furniture
making.
Besides fodders and leaves are required for cattle.
These all activities have resulted into deforestation.
4. Results of Deforestation
The results of deforestation are very hazardous.
It is observed that thousands of hectors of forest land has been vanished and
replaced by human habitation and factories.
Rapid destruction of forest has resulted into loss of ecological balance.
Carbon-di-oxide of the atmosphere is absorbed by the trees and convert it into
the Oxygen gas.
But due to deforestation, this natural process has been disturbed and produced
the threat for very existence of human beings.
5. Measures to minimize
deforestation.
Strict laws must be enforced by the forest department for destruction of trees.
So that the people refrain from cutting the trees.
‘Plant More Trees’ campaign must be launched and incentives should be given
to the people for planting and taking care of trees.
People should be made aware about environmental damage by destruction of
trees.
