The document discusses different methodologies for online testing, including A/B testing, multivariate testing, and multivariate testing using the Taguchi method. It provides pros and cons of each approach and recommends best practices for online testing, such as clearly defining success metrics, aligning test scenarios with objectives, minimizing variables to ensure data integrity, involving stakeholders, and applying learnings to future tests. The goal is to use testing to optimize tactics like creative, messaging, and offers and quantify the effects of design changes on key metrics.
When a test manager receives a project to work with, he would like to comprehend the scope of the project, the test objectives such as project timeline, project resources and budget. The Test Manager then needs to think about the test strategy. Selecting an appropriate test strategy is crucial for his project success. There are several test strategies for the Test Manager to select such as analytical, model-based, methodical, process or standard-compliant, dynamic, consultative or directed, and regression-averse. One of the most common and important test strategy is the analytical one that includes risk-based and specification-based testing. Comprehending analytical strategy and its methodologies will help the test manager guide software testing activities to reach the right targets to fulfill the testing objectives. That will make the customers happy and accept his company products. Then he and his company will get paid and great compensation from the customers. From there, his company business will continue to expand and everybody will be happy.
The talk will bring ideas about the analytical strategy and how to run risk-based and specification-based testing activities. Definitely the talk will bring good value to software testing audiences especially test managers. Testers, developers, project managers and higher management can benefit from the talk in the way that they understand and facilitate software testing methodologies in software development life cycle.
Accelerate your growth by moving from simple A/B testing to building an advanced testing program.
This session will help you learn how to build advanced A/B tests. With this session, you’ll get better at interpreting your test results, and find out the best approach to analyse failed or inconclusive experiment.
Root cause analysis for incidents (or production defects)Neha B
Production Defects or Incidents are defects found on production environment by end user or reported by actual customer. Incidents negatively impact customer satisfaction and raise concerns about the overall quality and reliability of the product.
Fixing the symptom may cause the issue to resurface after some time , fixing the underlying causes will ensure that the actual issues are addressed.

Many testers are not clear about their roles in their Agile teams, especially if they have been familiar with the traditional waterfall testing model. This presentation aims to clarify typical tester’s roles and responsibilities on Agile projects. It suggests useful testers’ mindset in working in Agile teams. The presentation also shares ways to collaborate with key stakeholders including customers (or product owners), developers, and other members in Agile teams. Having proper understanding of their roles and responsibilities together with applying their skillsets, testers would do a better job in Agile projects.

'Growing to a Next Level Test Organisation' by Tim KoomenTEST Huddle
Many organisations start improving their testing by implementing some kind of line organisation for testing (test expertise center, test service center), hereafter called TEC. Although a good starting point for improvements, in practice the TEC is often not much more than a resource pool of testers, possibly supplying certain templates or giving advice to projects.
A next maturity level for a TEC is to grow to a test factory, responsible for delivering pre-agreed test results. From the experiences gathered mostly from a large railroad infrastructure organisation, this presentation shows the path to this next level of test maturity and responsibility. However, this is not a straight path, but a path with ups and downs and many curves, and getting there isn’t easy. It requires change, in organisational processes but, more difficult, also in the way people work, their behavior and their attitude.
In my practice, I follow the principles of the Basic Change Method (from Dutch management guru Ben Tiggelaar). BCM is a combination of the most effective insights from cognitive and behavioral science and focuses on making people change their common behavior by management of both behavior intentions and change situations. Usually change management is mainly focused on end results. But the underestimated factor between change plans and desired results is behavior.
Issues that will be discussed are:
• using the TEC as a lever for test improvement
• envisioning the roadmap
• formulating improvement actions
• (management) commitment
• organising the improvement (team)
• planning the change
• implementing the improvements
• changing behavior
• measuring results.

This will be presented at the Optimizely's San Francisco User Group session on Oct 4th. As with any program, an A/B Testing Practice also follows a specific maturity curve. Since it is much more complex and spans across various domains and business units, it begins with a "Sell" phase focused on getting buy-in from various stakeholders but with a specific focus on Engineering & QA, followed by "Scale" phase with focus on building team, efficiency and program and then on to "Expand" phase focused on wider scope/complex tests and strengthen the platform, over to the "Deepen" phase where the focus is to ingrain testing within the company's DNA, i.e., within the backend/algorithms, cross pollinate learning and testing across various business units. The final phase is the "Sustain" phase where Algorithmic Test Management takes over Testing, and Testing is productized as a Value Add service for monetization and brand captial creation. We will walk the audience through our own journey so far along the maturity curve, the lessons learnt along the way, the challenges and what worked for us. The session will be rounded up with a working session with the audience on their own journey, lessons and advice for others.
How to Keep Up Your Creative Testing After Budget CutsTinuiti
Zero- and first-party data isn’t going anywhere – and while you know that, you may not have a comprehensive strategy for it yet. You’ve probably spotted inefficiencies across your messaging channels and are keen to convert that into opportunities to optimize for conversions – but you haven’t gotten there yet. And, like all marketers, you’re also likely highly concerned with getting the most performance out of every dollar you spend.
All of the above elements of lifecycle marketing are no longer just nice-to-have, but a need-to-have in order to succeed now and future proof your strategy.
The good news is that our experts know how to navigate these challenges and opportunities and partnered with some of our favorite industry experts to share their insights.

Unlike the Waterfall method, Agile Testing can begin at the start of the project with continuous integration between development and testing.
Agile Testing methodology is not sequential (in the sense it’s executed only after coding phase) but continuous.
Agile is an iterative development methodology, where requirements evolve through collaboration between the customer and self-organizing teams and agile aligns development with customer needs.
The word Agile signifies something that can be performed quickly and immediately ,in the area o f software development

5 Reasons Why Test Automation Can Fail.pdfAnanthReddy38
Test automation can be a game-changer for organizations striving to enhance their software development processes. However, despite its potential benefits, many teams encounter challenges that prevent them from fully realizing the value of test automation. In this article, we’ll explore five common reasons why test automation can fail and offer recommendations to overcome these obstacles.
1. Consumers of Test Results
How they should be using test results: Developers and testers should promptly consume test results and prioritize resolving any failures. Test automation should provide insights into system health and identify issues in functional components and user journeys.
Symptoms to look out for: Development teams ignore test results, rendering them ineffective.
Recommendation: If your team isn’t actively using test results, pause automation efforts and address the underlying issues causing this disengagement. Effective communication and understanding of the value of test results are crucial to avoid building unnecessary features.
2. Creation of Test Data
How data should be used: Automated tests should generate and manage their own data, ensuring independence and repeatability. Team members should have the ability to create test data easily, even for complex data structures.
Symptoms to look out for: Tests rely on specific database states, limiting portability, and teams perceive test failures as script issues rather than application defects.
Recommendation: Invest in creating easily accessible test data, supporting various scenarios and maturity levels. Consider solutions like data-as-a-service, as exemplified by Wotif, to streamline data creation, even in complex ecosystems.
3. Metrics for Test Automation
What it should measure: Metrics should measure valuable outcomes and guide decision-making. Examples include feedback time and code coverage.
Symptoms to look out for: Using incorrect metrics, such as focusing solely on test coverage, leading to a bloated and inefficient automation suite.
Recommendation: Utilize meaningful metrics like feedback time and code coverage judiciously. High code coverage is desirable, but it should be balanced with test quality. Analyze low coverage areas to understand the reasons behind them and take targeted actions.
4. Test Environments
What they should allow you to do: Test environments should enable quick identification of issues, their root causes, and rapid validation of fixes.
Symptoms to look out for: Shared, unreliable test environments that erode trust in automation results, and manual setup of environments.
Recommendation: Control change by breaking down the path to production into incremental steps with frequent deployments. This reduces the complexity of identifying issues and accelerates fixes, bolstering trust in the testing process.

The credit program when I started working on credit had not welcome program. Not surprisingly this is one of the key projects we began working on. Andy Scott and Dorothy Eubanks were key partners in this effort.
I was hired by Eleanor Hong, VP of Marketing, to run the marketing database RFP project. The project with multiple revisions ran from late 2007 thru most of 2008 with significant changes to the financials as the numbers came in. Not surprisingly the prices was too high and they ended up staying with Harte-Hanks
Brooks Brothers worked hard to continually optimize the site for engagement. A suite of metrics were applied to customer engagement and drove the changes you see here. This was an ongoing effort in marketing.
GE and Charles de Gruchy prepared monthly and quarterly updates on the business. Andy Scott, for GE, lead his team and coordinated with Brooks Brothers. Andy's solid leadership and easy collaboration made the process an easy one.
This document provided important input into the Brooks Brothers display planning session. I was used along with additional inputs from CRM and the agency to craft the 2013 plan.
Ahead of the relaunch Charles de Gruchy developed a research plan working with MasterCard and GE (now Synchrony Financial). The results were a key driver of the business plan and a solid delivery on the part of GE and MasterCard
Documentation of the process steps and deliverables at each stage for segmentation, monthly reports, standard reports, category and field reporting, etc.
The purpose of the document was to summarize strategies, results and points of view that had been discussed previously for a marketing team review and discussion.
Toys R Us had run the business on a frequency segmentation plus ad hoc merchandise and offer characteristics. This test was part the effort to standardize analytics across the business and build learning around how the segmentation would perform under specified circumstances.
I do this every year to see what's changed. There are several sites that can do it. Load in your resume and there you go. It's fascinating to see what is really important.
Memorandum Of Association Constitution of Company.pptseri bangash
www.seribangash.com
A Memorandum of Association (MOA) is a legal document that outlines the fundamental principles and objectives upon which a company operates. It serves as the company's charter or constitution and defines the scope of its activities. Here's a detailed note on the MOA:
Contents of Memorandum of Association:
Name Clause: This clause states the name of the company, which should end with words like "Limited" or "Ltd." for a public limited company and "Private Limited" or "Pvt. Ltd." for a private limited company.

Registered Office Clause: It specifies the location where the company's registered office is situated. This office is where all official communications and notices are sent.
Objective Clause: This clause delineates the main objectives for which the company is formed. It's important to define these objectives clearly, as the company cannot undertake activities beyond those mentioned in this clause.
www.seribangash.com
Liability Clause: It outlines the extent of liability of the company's members. In the case of companies limited by shares, the liability of members is limited to the amount unpaid on their shares. For companies limited by guarantee, members' liability is limited to the amount they undertake to contribute if the company is wound up.

Capital Clause: This clause specifies the authorized capital of the company, i.e., the maximum amount of share capital the company is authorized to issue. It also mentions the division of this capital into shares and their respective nominal value.
Association Clause: It simply states that the subscribers wish to form a company and agree to become members of it, in accordance with the terms of the MOA.
Importance of Memorandum of Association:
Legal Requirement: The MOA is a legal requirement for the formation of a company. It must be filed with the Registrar of Companies during the incorporation process.
Constitutional Document: It serves as the company's constitutional document, defining its scope, powers, and limitations.
Protection of Members: It protects the interests of the company's members by clearly defining the objectives and limiting their liability.
External Communication: It provides clarity to external parties, such as investors, creditors, and regulatory authorities, regarding the company's objectives and powers.
https://seribangash.com/difference-public-and-private-company-law/
Binding Authority: The company and its members are bound by the provisions of the MOA. Any action taken beyond its scope may be considered ultra vires (beyond the powers) of the company and therefore void.
Amendment of MOA:
While the MOA lays down the company's fundamental principles, it is not entirely immutable. It can be amended, but only under specific circumstances and in compliance with legal procedures. Amendments typically require shareholder

of marketing resources. Formulating such competitive strategies fundamentally
involves recognizing relationships between elements of the marketing mix (e.g.,

TESTING INTRODUCTION
• Marketers use testing to optimize the performance of their
chosen tactical vehicle
– Media
– Creative
– Messaging
– Offer
• Testing allows us to quantify the effects of design and user
interface iterations
– Does the “hard sell” copy really drive more sales?
– Is the Flash navigation causing users to abandon the homepage?
– Does the search box in the header drive more product views?
• Online channels present an efficient testing opportunity due to
the production efficiencies of the medium
– Relatively short lead time
– Accountable medium

THREE TESTING METHODOLOGIES
• A/B testing (Split run testing)
– Tests a single design variation per test
– Typically all users in the control group receive the baseline page and the users in the test group
receive the design variation
– Pros: Quick to deploy, simple test matrix, minimal resources need to be created
– Cons: Doesn’t scale well
• Multivariate testing
– This test involves testing multiple items as one time
– Pros: Can uncover success with multiple design elements combinations not tested with A/B, will
almost always demonstrate improvement over control group
– Cons: Doesn’t scale well. A small number of variables will cause the test matrix to quickly grow very
large. Also many resources must be produced to fill the iterations in the matrix.
• Multivariate testing using the Taguchi method
– Similar to multivariate testing but it only uses a subset of the possible test iterations
– Pros: Theoretically provides the optimal test strategy
– Cons: Can be expensive as external vendors are recommended for optimal knowledge transfer

ENSURE ACTIONABLE OBJECTIVES
1. Clearly identify success metrics before the test
– “Increase customer service” is too broadly defined
1. Stakeholders must agree in advance to the test objectives
– Ensure that all business owners understand the test and have given
input
1. Ensure the test results can be acted upon
– Don’t test variables that may be outside the control of the business
unit

ALIGN SCENARIOS WITH TEST OBJECTIVES
• Scenario Design and use case development should inform
testing objectives
• Utilize existing scenario’s or use cases to guide the test
– Testing scenarios are developed to test the effectiveness of a
campaign to increase applications for “Student Visa Platinum” from
the Student Banking Center landing page. BAC is specifically
interested in growing this business on the west coast and in
particular California.
– If the campaign is geared specifically towards to drive users in the
California market don’t test the effectiveness of the campaign for
the East Coast.

MINIMIZE VARIABLES TO ENSURE DATA INTEGRITY
• Based on the objectives of the test determine if the users who
will see the test are broadly representative of the overall
audience segment
• Ideally you can control the source of the traffic to the test via a
media vehicle
• Ensure a statistically reliable sample. This depends on the test
setup but is typically at least 200 responses

THE VENDOR LANDSCAPE
Depending on the complexity of the test we recommend working
with a partner to deal with the logistics of multivariate testing
1. Dedicated outsourced ASP based solution – Several vendors
dedicated to multivariate testing exist. They can provide the
infrastructure necessary for dealing with the complexities of
running a multivariate test.
2. Existing transactional systems – Many application servers have
testing modules that can be utilized. For example: ATG’s
Campaign Optimizer
3. Custom solution – This is the most flexible but also the least
efficient due to time and cost constraints

PRIVACY ISSUES
• Ensure that your privacy policy reflects the fact that you’re
performing testing:
– Additional cookies will likely be issued
– Multiple users will get different versions of the site for purposes of
the test. You want to avoid the scenario that Amazon ran into a few
years ago where they offered different prices to different users as
this was very unpopular with the general populous

TESTING IS AN ONGOING PROCESS
• Testing is not a one off project – It’s part of an ongoing
optimization cycle
• Learnings should be applied to future iterations of the test
• Ideally you can test variables that can be applied to a larger
body of work

PREPARE THE TEAM FOR ORGANIZATIONAL
CHALLENGES
• People may be resistant to testing as the results often invalidate
their assumptions
• Create a case study to illustrate the value to the team
• Strive to create a culture of testing
• Start with simple A/B testing to develop internal processes for
change management

TESTING BEST PRACTISES
• Start small
– Start off testing manageable elements – Don’t try to solve all your
problems on the first round of testing
• Test actionable data
– Testing will generate “best possible” success criteria – ensure that
you can enact the changes the test has proven most successful
• Get the creative teams involved early
– Waiting until the results are complete will alienate the create teams
• Test messaging, offers and user interface elements separately
– Depending on your test methodology be sure to test offers and
messaging in a separate test
• Apply your test learnings to future projects
– React to the information that the test has generated
– Use this information in inform future testing
