Description of Subjects taught through out my time at Holmesglen :
Taxation Law as part of the Bachelor of Business
(Accounting)
Teaching University level students in their second year of
their degree . It involves studying an overview of taxation
law which encompasses topics such as, residency , source
of income , medicare levy, assessable income , deductions,
small business concessions, tax offsets and types of taxable
entities such as partnerships, companies , trusts and
superannuation funds, as well as tax administration. In all
subject matter students focus largely on theoretical /
legislative aspects and it is essential for students to identify
relevant provisions of the Tax Act , including extensive use
of case law to analyse scenarios.
I was the subject co-ordinator and prepared all
assignments and final examinations .
Taxation Practice as part of the Bachelor of Business
(Accounting)
Teaching University level students in their second year of
their degree . It involves studying various taxes with the
emphasis more on the practicum rather than theory. Topics
covered are GST/BAS, FBT, Tax Planning , Avoidance and
Evasion , International Taxation , Child Support Agency.
The students are taught how to use MYOB Tax Software
and after being taught the concepts necessary to complete
Individual, Partnership, Company and Trust returns they
are given assignments which requires the preparation of
such returns in their electronic form using MYOB Tax
Software.
I was the subject co-ordinator and prepared all
assignments and final examinations . I also wrote the
module course notes when the subject was first taught in
2008.
Principles Of Accounting as part of the Bachelor of
Business (Executive Administration)
Teaching University level students in the Second year of
their degree introductory accounting, such as debits and
credits, general journal entries, posting to the ledger,
preparation of the income statement and balance sheet as
well as cashflow statements. The students are also taught
MYOB v 15.
I was subject co-ordinator and prepared all assignments
and final examinations.
Prepare Financial Reports to Meet Statutory
Requirements as part of Diploma of Financial Services
(Banking)
Looks at preparing the company accounts according to the
ASIC requirements and involves teaching of Company
Balance Day adjustments. Tax Effect Accounting,
Preparing the Income Statement and Notes , Preparing the
Balance sheet and notes, Ratio Analyses , Cash flow
statements and Accounting for Leases
I was the subject co-ordinator and therefore prepared all
assessments materials.
Implement Tax Plans & Evaluate Tax Compliance part
of the Advanced Diploma in Accounting.
Initially deals with tax agent registrations, ATO penalties,
ATO Assessment, Objections & Appeals made to the ATO,
Tax Avoidance & Planning &the PSI Regime. The second
part of this subject involves training the students to use
MYOB tax software to prepare Individual, Partnership,
Company & Trust Returns in their electronic form.
I was the subject co-ordinator and prepared all
assessment materials .
Process Business Tax Requirements part of the Cert IV
in Financial Services
looks at indirect taxes such as GST,(students are shown
how to complete a BAS) FBT,PAYG withholding &
instalment ., land tax, payroll tax, superannuation, stamp
duty etc
Prepare Income Tax Returns part of the Accounting
Diploma
looks at direct taxes at the personal level students are taught
to calculate tax payable , how to calculate ETPs, CGT, tax
offsets etc.
Prepare Financial Reports part of the Accounting
Diploma and Cert IV in Financial Services
looks at collation of Income Statements and Balance
Sheets, Balance Day Adjustments, Closing entries,
accounting for Fixed assets etc, it is introductory
accounting.
Provide Management Accounting Information part of
the Accounting Diploma
Looks at job costing issues, collating budgets , cost-bebefit
analysis , breakeven analysis , payroll
CPA AUSTRALIA I commenced marking CPA exam papers in November
2005 in Corporate Governance and Accountability.
Since 2010 have been marking exam papers in Strategic
Management Accounting .
Accounting & Tax Agent Business - August 1998 – Present
Obtained Tax Agent License in August 1998 and since have prepared tax returns for
family / friends operating from home mainly preparing individual returns for sole traders,
share/property investors and salary and wage earners , partnerships, companies and some
family trusts. I use MYOB Tax & general ledger software to complete & lodge all tax
returns. I also prepare and lodge Business Activity Statements, as well as dealing with
incorporations , TFN,ABN,PAYG applications and calculations of wages and income
splitting for family groups and other of avenues of tax planning.
Hamilton Morello, CPA - August 2000 to July 2002
• Worked in a team environment
• On completion of work, reported to Manager/Partner involved
• Prepared jobs, usually extracting Trial balance, Bank reconciliation, General
ledgers from computer discs received from clients using Cash Flow, MYOB and
Quicken.

It involves studying an overview of taxation law which encompasses topics such as, residency , source of income , medicare levy, assessable income , deductions, small business concessions, tax offsets and types of taxable entities such as partnerships, companies , trusts and superannuation funds, as well as tax administration. In all subject matter students focus largely on theoretical / legislative aspects and it is essential for students to identify relevant provisions of the Tax Act , including extensive use of case law to analyse scenarios. I was the subject co-ordinator and prepared all assignments and final examinations . Taxation Practice as part of the Bachelor of Business (Accounting) Teaching University level students in their second year of their degree . It involves studying various taxes with the emphasis more on the practicum rather than theory. Topics covered are GST/BAS, FBT, Tax Planning , Avoidance and Evasion , International Taxation , Child Support Agency. The students are taught how to use MYOB Tax Software and after being taught the concepts necessary to complete Individual, Partnership, Company and Trust returns they are given assignments which requires the preparation of such returns in their electronic form using MYOB Tax Software.

Accounting & Tax Agent Business - August 1998 – Present Obtained Tax Agent License in August 1998 and since have prepared tax returns for family / friends operating from home mainly preparing individual returns for sole traders, share/property investors and salary and wage earners , partnerships, companies and some family trusts. I use MYOB Tax & general ledger software to complete & lodge all tax returns. I also prepare and lodge Business Activity Statements, as well as dealing with incorporations , TFN,ABN,PAYG applications and calculations of wages and income splitting for family groups and other of avenues of tax planning.
