Walmart* have done tremendous work on supply chain management. One of the
keys to Walmart’s effective logistical system is the flexibility that it has when
choosing suppliers.
When Walmart negotiates with suppliers and the suppliers know that Wal-Mart
will only pay the most competitive prices. This is because it is very easy for them
to find another supplier of that particular material with a lower price and very few
logistical problems
Another reason that Walmart's prices are so competitive is because they buy in
such large quantities that transportation from one end of the supply chain to
another is not as costly for additional units. Here they focus on bulk and get profit
out of it
This aspect of the logistical system does not come from skill or expertise it simply
comes from the sheer size of the company, but this is still a factor.
Walmart buys so many supplies from different places throughout the world, that
they have the luxury of using bigger trucks and using less fuel to go back and forth.
Also if by chance they have to use shipping services to transport material from one
location to another, Walmart will give them so much business that they will get
huge discounts.

Inventory management - more than just controlling your stockMandy Pearson
When asked what inventory management is, business owners often say it’s about keeping control over stock levels: optimising how much inventory your business holds, to minimise costs associated with inventory handling, obsolete stock, and logistics. While inventory management assists with all of these things, its benefits to a business extend far beyond this. With the software available today, a good stock management system can help with making better sales, customer retention, business data analytics, security, and cash flow.

Neuro-symbolic is not enough, we need neuro-*semantic*Frank van Harmelen
Neuro-symbolic (NeSy) AI is on the rise. However, simply machine learning on just any symbolic structure is not sufficient to really harvest the gains of NeSy. These will only be gained when the symbolic structures have an actual semantics. I give an operational definition of semantics as “predictable inference”.
All of this illustrated with link prediction over knowledge graphs, but the argument is general.

Effective Application Security in Software Delivery lifecycle using Deployment Firewall and DBOM
The modern software delivery process (or the CI/CD process) includes many tools, distributed teams, open-source code, and cloud platforms. Constant focus on speed to release software to market, along with the traditional slow and manual security checks has caused gaps in continuous security as an important piece in the software supply chain. Today organizations feel more susceptible to external and internal cyber threats due to the vast attack surface in their applications supply chain and the lack of end-to-end governance and risk management.
The software team must secure its software delivery process to avoid vulnerability and security breaches. This needs to be achieved with existing tool chains and without extensive rework of the delivery processes. This talk will present strategies and techniques for providing visibility into the true risk of the existing vulnerabilities, preventing the introduction of security issues in the software, resolving vulnerabilities in production environments quickly, and capturing the deployment bill of materials (DBOM).

Epistemic Interaction - tuning interfaces to provide information for AI supportAlan Dix
Paper presented at SYNERGY workshop at AVI 2024, Genoa, Italy. 3rd June 2024
https://alandix.com/academic/papers/synergy2024-epistemic/
As machine learning integrates deeper into human-computer interactions, the concept of epistemic interaction emerges, aiming to refine these interactions to enhance system adaptability. This approach encourages minor, intentional adjustments in user behaviour to enrich the data available for system learning. This paper introduces epistemic interaction within the context of human-system communication, illustrating how deliberate interaction design can improve system understanding and adaptation. Through concrete examples, we demonstrate the potential of epistemic interaction to significantly advance human-computer interaction by leveraging intuitive human communication strategies to inform system design and functionality, offering a novel pathway for enriching user-system engagements.

2. I.INTRODUCTION
An inventory is the stock of items used in an organization. An inventory system
monitors the levels of inventory and determines the timeline and quantity of orders.
Companies maintain inventories of raw materials, work in development or final
products for various reasons, including unpredictable raw material delivery time,
allowing for production scheduling flexibility or demand variations. There are many
inventory-related costs including holding, ordering and shortage costs. An effective
inventory management system can minimize these costs.
II.PURPOSE OF THE DESIGN
An inventory database is an important management tool for any retail business,
large or small. The database holds details and quantities of the products you stock,
together with information on product suppliers. By using a database, you can replace
manual methods of inventory control and reduce the time, cost and effort of inventory
management.
Controlling your inventory is essential to the efficiency and profitability of your retail
3. business. An inventory database provides you with an accurate, up-to-date picture of
stock levels for each product so that you have sufficient stock to meet customer demand
without overstocking. Overstocking incurs unnecessary costs and reduces profits, while
inadequate stocks could result in lost sales, again reducing profitability.
The information in an inventory database provides reports that help you to identify trends
and forecast future demand efficiently and accurately. Reports that cover stock usage
over a period of time identify weekly or monthly demand and also highlight any changes
in normal usage resulting from promotions or seasonal factors. If you are planning an
advertising or sales promotion campaign, you can use that historical analysis to ensure
that you have adequate stock to meet the additional demand. Analyzing stock changes in
the inventory database helps you identify the products that are selling quickly and the
slow movers. That level of insight enables you to rationalize the variety of products you
stock to concentrate on those that contribute to profit.
III. DATABASE DESIGN
4. A. LIST OF ALL PRIMARY KEYS
Barcode scanning
Easily identify and track your products; inventory management software
integrates with barcode scanners for instant product identification and labeling.
Inventory optimization
Maintain just the right amount of inventory for each product, without over- or
under-stocking any item. It’s especially useful if you deal in products that experience a
seasonal rise and fall in demand.
Stock notifications
Receive alerts and notifications when there’s over- or under-stocking beyond a
defined threshold. This helps you to place orders or offer promotional discounts to clear
out extra stock.
Report generation
View sales history in the form of a list of your most popular products. This feature
also enables you to manage items in your inventory that have not reached the sales levels
you expected, for example, by offering discounts on them.
Multilocation management
` Manage multiple warehouses and points-of-sale (POS). All locations can be
integrated within a single inventory management system.
Stock returns handling
Manage returns more effectively by reducing time-to-return through automation
of the entire process.
5. Material grouping
Group inventory into predefined categories and ensure you’re always updated
about quantities of components and specifications that make up your product stock, and
manage their reordering schedules as required.
Purchase order records
Create a single view of purchase order records. You can easily identify which
products are in demand, both perpetually and seasonally, and prepare to meet your
customers’ needs.
RFID-based in-transit tracking
This feature is useful if your supplies come from a third-party and you dispatch
goods for delivery. This feature leverages RFID technology to provide you with real-time
tracking of your inventory in transit.
Warehouse management
This feature is useful if you need to optimize your warehouse stock and maintain
an accurate log of each product’s location. It’ll give you a single view of where all of
your products are stored.
Demand forecasting
Through this feature, you can draw on past data to identify future demand. It isn’t
necessarily offered by all platforms, so if forecasting is important to you, be sure to ask the
vendors on your shortlist about this capability.
B. LIST OF ALL TABLES
6. C. RELATIONSHIP WITH DRAWING AND
CONNECTIONS
The relationship between the drawing and connections is that we need to connect in every
item that we are selling like our purchases, connected to suppliers , products and most
especially the orders. As you can see in the graph above some of our inventory are connected
to each other because it is a powerful tool that enables manufacturing manager. To evaluate
how effectively they add value to inventory they have a step by step construction process of a
simple inventory flow diagrams is shown in the table above , which illustrates how these
diagrams show the distribution of the various categories of inventory system. For example the
purchase, products, suppliers and the orders . in terms of week supply they also show inventory
build and depletion rates , in terms of dollar per week . thus, they provide information about
7. both the investment and time which the inventories represent. A good inventory system has
good necessity for any modern business or manufacturing system we represent analysis
pattern for an inventory system that keeps trac of quantity and location of items in stock, and
updates these quantities according to the different stages of manufacturing or production from
components ordering to product shipping.
