1. JOB RESPONSIBILITIES
Establish project plan baseline
Accountable for planning, prioritizing and executing a project by working with Account Managers,
Operations and Product Managers, Implementation managers, delivery organizations and external
customers. This includes project procurement, integration, time, cost, scope, planning and initiation
Develops required project documentation identifying project goals and tasks and generating assignments
consistent to meet objectives
Establishes change management procedures, including evaluation and communication for project
duration. Develops reporting strategy for project.
Uses established processes to successfully deliver projects and services
Analyze legal impacts by engaging the Legal Dept., Supply, Finance
Drive Project execution
Drive Category B and C projects
Complexity – Goals clear and Process unclear to Goals uncertain and Processes clear
Architectural complexity – Integration of several products and/or new products within one service area.
Project Duration – between 6 and 12 months Program duration 12-24 months; multiple venues at
once during the program, each lasting 6-9 months.
Contract Value – up to 150M USD Program value up to $250M a year; each project between $150k
and $2.5M.
Staff Managed – between 25-100 employees
Partners/3PPs/Subcontractor Management – between 25 and 50
Number of Sites with independent customer interface – between 2 and 3 (e.g. different legal entities or
regionalized organizations) 1-4 operators and 1 end customer per venue
Takes responsibility for project and actively executes to project plan while maintaining quality standards
Ensures all commitments are met in accordance with pre-established project goals/objectives
Demonstrates control of equipment deliveries, service c osts, project activities and customer hand-over
requirements
Responsible for reporting on project financial and schedule progress based upon project goals
Ensures strategy for cost control is used
Good understanding of project data to predict project success.
Actively uses project methods, processes and tools
Works within defined framework or responsibility
Possesses strong project tool skills
o MS Project – creating a work breakdown structure, creating a task list, linking tasks, create
reports/dashboards
Drives the use of project document control and management.
Performs risk management
Manages change, formulates action plans, mitigates risk to minimize schedule delays and costs
Actively takes advantage of change opportunities and recommends new or revised strategies for project
integration.
Handle customer & stakeholder engagement (Relationship-building)
Ability to organize and lead a matrixed project team while keeping everyone informed on a regular basis
Maintains clear communication with customers regarding mutual expectations and monitors customer
satisfaction, seeks and understands customer processes for proper alignment of expectations
Builds business relationships beyond the project environment
Provides feedback and focus to all team members.
Serves as a change management agent representing the Project Management Organization
Ability to engage with various other external stakeholders such as Suppliers, 3PPs, local city organizations
Manage project finance
Must have strong financial understanding
o Demonstrates understanding of EVM and the impact
o Monitors scope, schedule, and cost
2. o Performs analysis that reflects actual versus planned cost
Able to interpret Project financial indicators to use them as part of the decision making process
o Unadjusted Margin/Actual Margin, RUC, WIP, Unbilled Sales, Deferred Revenue, Working capital
Able to access internal systems to gather financial information
o SAP
Participate in negotiating scope, financial terms, change request management and conditions with
supplier
Develop the business
Prepare project part of the contract
Build business awareness in project for the project team
Drive profit improvement activities (e.g. Add on Sales and Cost Saving)
Maintain knowledge about customers
Maintain knowledge about Ericsson’s product portfolio
Develop the CPM discipline
Actively contribute to simplify processes, methods and tools
Innovate new methods, ideas
Share good practice and examples at a regional level
Perform project reviews
Promote the CPM job in Ericsson, including presentations
Ability to guide and coach junior or new member of the Project management team (PM I), especially on
Ericsson processes and tools.
