Answering Cheevers Questions
Answering Cheevers question, Is College worth the money? is complicated for me for multiple
reasons. College in this state is ridiculous for a number of reasons. Actually, college in America
overall is a huge joke. The expense for school in itself is completely outrageous, that s even before
you add in all the housing, tax, books and other random extra fees. Collegefor most can put an
individual into debt before you even finish your first semester. The fact that you have to take a
required class and be present, but then only to go home to self teach yourself, so that you can
actually understand and learn the material to pass. The amount of money that our parents and
students dish out each year to fund our college tuition is insane, sadly.

Stress And Its Effects On Children
Humans are not the only species to undergo stress; it has been used as a survival tactic across all
lineages of organisms. One necessity of stress is when it produces the instinct of fight or flight, that
enables individuals to overcome a threatening situation or to run like the wind. In an advanced
society, stress has become self produced and normalized into society, whereas people are always
looking for efficiency in the fastest way possible. However, not many individuals realize children
undergo stress at the hands of others that produce severe biological and psychological effects, as
well as long term deficiencies. Considering, America is the wealthiest industrialized economy,
society needs to be aware of stress related issued in children so that we can tackle the problem to
save current and potential victims. Stress in children is complex to detect, considering their still
developing and adapting to the surrounding environment. Unfortunately, there are cases when a
child is subjected to traumatic situations and never receive therapeutic treatment, thereby resulting
in some children remaining powerless to discover their own coping mechanism to ease the
emotional suffering. Although stress has imposed beneficiaries for the survival of humankind,
Stress becomes negative when an individual feels threatened and when they are not in control of the

Acts Of Paul And Thecla Analysis
The account of Saint Thecla, as found in the literary piece, The Acts of Paul and Thecla, reveal
the fervid passion of a woman in her pursuit of the monotheistic God, risking life and limb on her
quest to make His gospel known. While the woman herself remains in question, her legacy
continues as a strong representation of the role of women in the early Church a position often
denied to many women by the patriarchal nature of the institution. Thecla defied the early leaders,
pushing herself into a realm where only men had dared to enter, and succeeded in bringing an
entire region under the wing of her Christian religion. Thecla was a leader, a visionary but, first
and foremost, she was a woman. The Acts of Paul and Thecla is believed to have been a portion...

From her earliest beginnings as a follower of Paul, it is clear to see that Thecla was soon to
become a revolutionary in the early Christian world. Aside from her near radical stance as a
female apostle, Thecla was ordained by God to perform an array of ...miraculous cures, so that
all the city and adjacent countries brought their sick [to her]... [and] they were instantly cured of
whatsoever distemper they had (Jones). In the times of Paul, women were regarded as being the
sinful progenitors of Eve, and thus irreversibly unfit to carry out the Holy Gospel. Thecla s
blatant disregard for the ...tendency of the emerging orthodox church to enforce norms of

Character Analysis Of Hedda Gabler
Hedda Gabler is a play in which the author, Henrik Ibsen, demonstrates the heavy shackles of
society and the burden it impinges on women through the words and actions of the protagonist,
Hedda Tesman. Hedda is a woman living for her own pleasure. At twenty nine years old and
having been recently married, she is under enthused with her surroundings and yearns for
titillating experiences. Obsessed with the aesthetics of the world, she wants to lead a poetic life
filled with lust and luxury, yet is too frightened by what her Victorian values deem proper, to do
so. Ibsen constructed a brilliant character that simultaneously arouses both sympathy and scorn
from the reader through Hedda s own words and actions. Hedda arouses sympathy from the
readers through her own personal conflicts. She is a woman trapped by herself in a loveless
marriage to an ingenuous creature (52 Ibsen) named George Tesman. Tesman is a simple soul
with very little to offer. Not only is he an entire social class below Hedda, but he is oblivious,
insecure due to his own banalities, and overly reliant on his Aunts , despite being thirty three
years old. Hedda married George due to a bond of sympathy. . . (31 Ibsen) formed between them
and she took pity. . . (31 Ibsen) on George. This brings a sense of sincerity to Hedda that was not
turned to such a high magnitude preceding this discussion between Judge Brack and herself. Hedda
is a lonely, yet independent, soul that wants sexual freedom without

Conformity And Cult Development
Cult development is fascinating phenomenon that occurs all around the world. Their membership
growth is a complex interaction facilitated by conformity and manipulation. Cult membership can
have a major impact on those who are involved. Leaving a cult can cause much distress for both the
ex member and their family. It is important to understand cultaffiliation factors and the development
of their membership in order to provide proper therapeutic intervention for those who leave cults.
Cults tend to appeal to individuals who have some sort of vulnerability that can be exploited. A
study done by Egan Hunter (1998) demonstrated that fact in adolescents. Adolescence is a time of

Understanding how membership to a cult can occur gives practitioner a better empathetic view of

extreme isolation from the outside world and are typically cut off from their family. Family

Some Key Events Or Factors That Affected Canada In 1850-1890
What are some key events or factors that affected Canada in 1850 1890?
The North West Mounted Police also known as the NWMP was most effective from 1873 to
1920. It was created after the confederation. The NWMP had a big role in stopping the whiskey
trade and the violence that was involved with it, on the southern prairies. Sir John A. Macdonald
knew about the harmful effect of the whiskey trade on the Blackfoot, and Blood tribes, along with
other First Nations. Lieutenant William F. Butler a British army officer said that the regions in
Saskatchewan had no law, rules, and/or security for property or life. This caused robbers and
murders to get away with their crimes, with no consequences. In June 1873, over 30 Assiniboines,
American Indians were killed by the whiskey trade in an event called Cypress Hills Massacre. The
NWMP affected Canada as it enforced the federal laws in the west, and the Arctic. They also
helped end the North West Rebellion with the federal government and made rules for the Klondike
Gold Rush. Therefore, Canada was affected by the North West Mounted Police in many ways.

Stylistic Characteristics Of The Blues
CH11 Question 1 There are several stylistic characteristics of the blues. The first one is the blue
notes, which is the bent technique for lowering the pitch of third and seventh scale degrees in the
major scale(259). The next one is the blue chorus, which is three line lyrics, and it contains fill
which is the instrument response of the call and response between vocal and instrument. The third
feature is the blue progression which is the form of the combination between tonic(I),
subdominant(IV), and dominant(V) chords. It is usually arranged as: I / IV I / V I . Another
characteristic is that the timbre of the vocals in blueshave a wide varieties. Every single piece of
blue music features a different kind of vocal texture. The rhythm in the blues has a characteristic
called swung which means the long short pattern of the rhythm. In all three pieces of music, the
blue note and the blue chorus are applied to the composition. The bent texture of the pitch and the
neat separation of the lyrics can be easily notice in the music. The call and response in vocals and
instruments, on the other hand, is not so obvious in Can t Help Lovin Dat Man, but I think,
though subtle, it is still there at the end of each line. The rhythm in the Muleskinner Blues is more
steady instead of the long short patterned swung. The swung is not so obvious in Can t Help
Lovin Dat Man, either. Overall, there are some standard blue style in all three pieces of music, but

Scenario: To open a Lemonade Stand in your local neighborhood.
Its summer time and the most important thing in hot weather is the need to quench your thirst.
What is a better drink then a refreshing Lemonade. Since long I was very much interested in
opening a lemonade stand, which I finally decided to have it implemented before the summer
season starts. After a lot of research and hard work I have come up with a business model that
would work efficiently in generating revenue and also help local community.
Brand:
The brand name that I came up with is a catchy and trendy word which I think represents the
product and justifies the product s need in hot season. The brand name would be GO COOL Real
Lemonade. ... Show more content on Helpwriting.net ...
Pricing Strategy:
Since the Lemonade business depends on lemon and sugar, our company will have to keep an eye
on the stock needed and the availability of the two item locally and internationally. Even though
the business will be at the peak in summer and will slow down in winter, a close monitoring on
the international prices is a must. The future plan of the company is to expand in other continents
by giving out franchise. So if it winter in US we generate business revenue from countries like
Australia and New Zealand where they would have summer. To keep standard pricing and profit
margin for the franchises, a detailed costing would be required. The things that are needed to be
considered would be Cost of Lemon, Cost of Sugar, Cost of water, Cost of container, 10%
overheads (labor, rent, utilities, etc), 5% franchising fee and 7% profit margin. In addition to this
pricing 2% price fluctuation will be added to the cost. With this calculation the company and the
franchises should make enough money to survive in the competitive market.
Global Market:
Even though the product can be packed in a container and can be sold globally, I would prefer to
have local franchises so that we can provide pure and authentic lemonade without preservatives as
we promised. Also, opening a franchise will give local people employment, which is also a way to
give back to the community.
If we stick to the plans and ethics, I think our company has a bright future

Data Warehousing Is A Single Repository Or Storage Of Data...
1. INTRODUCTION
Data warehousing is a single repository or storage of data integrated from different sources which
allows the business and the organization to generate a report or analysis to make decisions based on
those data. Data warehousing is an integral part of any organization as it helps to increase the
efficiency of the decision makers by integrating and transforming the data from multiple
incompatible sources to the consistent and meaningful information which allows them to perform
accurate, consistent and substantive analysis of data(P. 1152).
The data stored in data warehouse will not provide any benefit to the organization until the hidden
information is extracted from it. There are various way to extract the data, however data mining is
the best method to get the meaningful trends and patterns from the data warehouse. Therefore, data
mining can be defined as the method of extracting the valid, comprehensible and previously
unknown information from the huge storage to use on the decision making process (P. 1233).
This report will presents the various features of data mining tools and emphasize the importance of
data mining to realize the value of data warehouse.
2. DATA MINING TOOLS

The first one I went to is the self defense class because I always wanted to know how to protect

not like yoga based on my trial, because I did not give the trial a fair chance by going while I
was sick. I might try a different location just in case it was the instructor that was a bit too
intense for me. The third trial I did was Zumba class. I went to Zumba class because of my mom.
She wants to lose weight, but she doesn t want to work out. I thought Zumba would be the
perfect thing for her. It took a while for me to convince her to go, but once she did she enjoyed
herself. Zumba class help her focus more on having fun instead of working out. Not to mention
that none of us knew what we were doing because it was our first time, which made it even more
fun. As time pass by we caught with the class which I though was interesting. After the class we
sign up for the membership card even though our body was sore afterward. We enjoyed every bit
of it even my mom, I was impressed with how willing my mom was to sign up for the
membership. We been going to Zumba class ever since the trial. After all those trial I ve lost a

Effects Of Poe s Single Effect On The Black Cat
Edgar Allen Poe has many standards that helped lay the ground work to his single effect of a
short story. He thought short stories ought to be able to be read at one sitting. This allows the
reader to get the entire effect of the story at one time, rather than having to stop reading the story
and having to recapture the feeling of the story after returning. In writing, he attempted to try to and
capture a unifying emotion; the emotion of horror. He felt that the effect of the story should be
obvious to everyone who reads the story. Poe s single effect was attended to show human behavior;
to see how human reactions would be if these stories actually occurred.

cuts out one of the cat s eyes. After this encounter, the cat fears him, and tries to avoid him at all
cost. In the beginning, the storyteller is regretful and feels remorseful for the cruelty. But soon we

Global Warming Is One Of The Most Heated Debates Around...
Global warming is one of the most heated debates around the world in recent years; many
governments and organizations are promoting environmentally friendly strategies and programmes
in order to deal with this grave issue, which will cause long lasting and far reaching consequences.
According to LiveScience, Global warming is the gradual heating of Earth s surface, atmosphere

1800s. The Environmental Protection Agency claimed that the earth s average temperature has
rise 0.8 degrees Celsius over the past century, and also predicted to rise another 1.133 to 6.42
degrees Celsius over the next 100 years. In addition, global warming is not just about the rising of
temperature, which will lead us to have a longer summer and a shorter winter, and there will be
many other problems which happen on earth. In addition, global warming does not happen by
itself. The major climate report released on 27th September, 2013 by the Inter Governmental Panel

global warming trends the planet is now experiencing and this is not a natural occurrence, but is

Examples Of Dehumanization And Isolation In Flowers For...
Dehumanization and Isolation. These are the main themes in the short story by Danielle Keyes,
titled Flowers for Algernon . Flowers for Algernon is about a boy who is much less intelligent than
the average person, so to make himself smarter, he undergoes an experimental surgery. But as
Charlie s IQ continues to grow, he soon comes to find out that all good things must come to an end.
Many say that Charlie starts out as the object of dehumanization and isolation, seeing as how his
friends treat him, but many more insist that the dehumanization and isolation aren t completely
developed until the middle of the story, where Charlie becomes too smart to interact with the people
that gave him his newfound intelligence. These themes are often debated upon as to whether or
not they become more or less relevant as the story progresses, but what most don t consider is
that these themes have always appeared in Charlie s life, he was just too blind to see what was
always there. In the beginning of the story, Charlie is quizzed with the Rorschach Test. The test
administer tells Charlie to tell him what he sees in the ink. Since Charlie has a tendency to take
things quite literally, he first tries to find actual objects in the ink. When the administrator tell him
that s not quite what he means, Charlie get scared that the administrator is mad at him because he
thinks he spilled the ink. This already demonstrates how dehumanized and isolated Charlie really
is. Later in the story, Charlie finds out that he has been chosen to undergo the experimental
procedure and happily agrees even though he really has no idea what he is getting into. This is
demonstrated in the story when writes And she said Charlie your going to have a second chance. If
you volenteer for this experament you mite get smart. They dont know if it will be perminint but
theirs a chance. Thats why i said ok even when i was scared because she said it was an operashun
(Keyes 206). After Charlie s operation is when the real dehumanization and isolation begin to make
their way into the limelight. When Charlie decides to go out with his work friends , the first hint of
dehumanization begins to show when Charlie finally realizes that they are not really

The Sistine Chapel was painted by Michelangelo during the High Renaissance. Michelangelo

common characteristics that can be found in the paintings are depth, blue backgrounds, anatomy,

which proves that the Sistine Chapel is Renaissance art. My thesis is the use of these new

Quinceaneras Analysis
Quinceaneras and the Heterosexual Imaginary The dream come true narrative that surrounds
quinceaneras is extremely similar to the way weddings and marriage are framed. In Ingraham s
White Weddings, she discusses how weddings are framed as the most important moment in a
woman s life, and how common it is for young girls to dream of their wedding days from the
moment they can walk and talk. A large part of Ingraham s work relies on the relationship between
weddings and the heterosexual imaginary. As she writes, the heterosexual imaginary relies on
romantic and sacred notions of heterosexuality in order to create and maintain the illusion of
wellbeing (Ingraham pp. 26). Though Ingraham was writing about weddings and not quinceaneras,

Oftentimes, quinceaneras are the subject of reality TV shows such as MTV s Quiero Mis

Sigmund Freud s Purpose Of Religion
Religion has a different purpose and meaning for every individual. For some people, religion is a
major part of life, while for others religion isn t even a factor in their life. Sigmund Freud looks at
religion through a very philosophical view. Unlike many others Freud uses science and reason
behind all of his thoughts. In this essay I will be discussing Sigmund Freud s views on religion.
Specifically, I will be looking at the purpose of religion, the value of lack of value of religion and
the future of religion according to Freud. Freud uses reason and sciencethrough his points instead
of belief. Using reason is what sets Freud so far apart when talking about religion. As you see,

As previously stated, Freud believes that religion was created for the purpose of establishing
rules and safety. Since we are currently at a point in civilization where we have laws that govern

eventually die off as time goes on. With everyday we advance in technology and science. With
this new found wealth of knowledge we as humans have also gain reason. Freud believes that now
that we have the resources we are able to believe in reason and science instead of religion. Human
civilization, by which I mean all those respects in which human life has raised itself above its

based on Freud s statements. Humans are a group of naturally curious animals. We strive to

Religious ideas are teachings and assertions about facts and conditions of external (or internal)

In the following piece of evidence, D, the graphic, from a Catalan Atlas in 1375, clearly depicted
West Africa as an extremely wealthy Old World power, with Mansa Musa sitting on his throne

World, a center of scholarship and education, and what appeared to be the wealthiest city in the
world at its time. But like all like all great cities, who fall because they lose what originally makes
them great, Timbuktu fell as well. Ultimately, Timbuktu fell because as the Americas were more
drawn into trade and trade relied much more on sea, Timbuktu received less traffic and eventually
became bypassed. Also, because Timbuktu was so powerful, the West African trade civilizations

to collapse. To summarize, Timbuktu and the civilizations that ruled it ultimately fell because the
trading world came to bypass them, and they grew so much that it became hard to maintain

Women Of The United States Armed Forces
Women are vital to the stability and efficiency of all branches of the United States armed forces.
Although women s presence may be necessary to the operation of the military, their placement in
combat positions would prove to be a devastating mistake. The body of a woman is not made to
brave combat positions, and placing women into positions dominated by men could create a hostile
working environment. The atmosphere of battle is already heated, and placing more problems into
the equation could lead to the unraveling of militaryeffectiveness as the country knows it.
Consequently, women should continued to be excluded from combat oriented positions in order to
preserve the superb work of the United States armed forces. Placing a woman into a field comprised
mostly of men would upset a balance of unit cohesion and morale among their male counterparts.
Unit cohesion result[s] from proximity of group members over time; social similarities or
commonalities; success at joint tasks; and concerned, competent, honest leaders (Simons). This
means that the individuals that comprise a combat unit must be able to relate to each other, and
work together in positive and constructive ways in order to carry out dangerous, high risk missions.
During combat operations, soldiers and their units are confined to small spaces for extended periods
of time. The addition of women into this close quartered group would add romantic and sexual
elements that can cause competition, jealousy, and

Outlasting the SARS Epidemic
Introduction
When speaking of epidemics, the memories which come to mind are different for different
people; for those who lived in Hong Kong in 2002 2003, images that spring up would almost
invariably be of Severe Acute Respiratory Syndrome, the epidemic known to man as SARS in
short. Sharing with us the three letter acronym (SAR) which was given to us by our leaders in
China, this ordeal has left its mark on our city in more ways than one. It had caused a widespread
wave of mysophobia and health consciousness among the Hong Kong people, which outlasted the
SARS epidemic but is probably slowly waning. It has also raised the awareness of the government
of the importance of the control of infectious diseases, both in the community and in the clinical
setting. Most importantly, SARS showed us what works and what needs improving in terms of
infection control in the event of a major epidemic.
Originally starting in November 2002 in Guangdong Province of China, the SARS coronavirus
has since infected as many as 8422 persons worldwide, with a total of 1755 patients infected,
among which 300 unfortunately succumbed to this disease. (1) Apart from being a major
epidemic in the medical history of Hong Kong and a health threat of global concern, another
aspect of SARS worth noting is the occurrence of nosocomial outbreaks. SARS was the cause of
nosocomial outbreaks in Canada, China, Hong Kong, Vietnam and Singapore. (2) The impact of
nosocomial outbreak in an epidemic such as SARS

The Importance Of Innate Ideas In John LockeBy David Locke
Another problem with Locke s insistence that innate ideas do not exist, is that necessary truths,
that is, contingent propositions (2+2=4), cannot be acquired through experience alone. If
necessary truths exist, that would at least infer that innate ideas exist and are merely revealed
through experience for necessary truths are a priori, which implies that innate knowledge exists
as a disposition. Beyond this, there is the possibility that we can form an idea without a
corresponding sensory impression. While not without its flaws, the argument that one can
generate an idea without first being exposed to the relevant sensory experience is illustrated in
Hume s missing shade of blue example. Locke claims that in order for an idea to be in the mind,
we must be conscious of it, which indicates that there is not much leeway allowed for memory,
that is, a power of the mind to revive perceptions it once had. The question then, is whether we
can know things without being conscious of them. It seems as though it is possible, but it is
important to note that regardless if we can or not, what is unconscious must have once been
conscious. For this reason, a potential response Locke would give to Hume with reference to the
missing shade of blue, is that even if one is able to fill it in, they would still be using their senses
in some way to access that knowledge and perhaps it would be knowledge made out of a long train
of proofs, which highlights the mental fatigue factor in play.
With regards to Locke s theory of knowledge, he holds that knowledge is divided into three types:
intuitive knowledge (knowledge the mind can attain without the need for recognizing something
else), demonstrative knowledge (a kind of knowledge cannot occur without the help of previous
information), and sensation knowledge (knowledge that results from empirical knowledge of the
known object). As such, it follows that our knowledge of our own existence is intuitive, our
knowledge of God s existence is demonstrative, and our knowledge of things present to sense is
sensitive. Locke believes that intuitive knowledge is real knowledge and the most important
degree of knowledge wherein there is no need for inference as the Mind is at no

Abnormal Psychology Essay examples
It s human nature to wonder why we act the way that we do and why things happen. So many
scholars over the years have come up with numerous theories in order to categorize the things that
are known and explanations of what it all means. Life is full of trials and tribulations and those who
study maladaptive behavior usually focus on the thoughts, feelings, perceptions, and skills one uses
during daily living. Feelings, thoughts, perceptions and skills all combine to aid in creating our
mental states and lead to behavioral abnormalities. Thoughts are made up of ideas, concepts and the
internal dialogue a person has within their mind. Perceptions are how one interprets incoming

This perspective truly focuses on the mind body connection (Sarason Sarason, 2005, p.47). The
psychodynamic perspective believes that biological and mental are both equal contributors to
human life. Those who support the psychodynamic perspective believe that personality is shaped
by combining inner and outer events, with emphasis on the inner events (Sarason Sarason, 2005,
p.59). Basically, our experiences shape who we are. Sigmund Freud is the most well known
theorist of this type with the basis of his concept involving the conscious and unconscious psychic
connection (Sarason Sarason, 2005, p60). The third theory of abnormal behavior is the behavioral
perspective specifically focusing on how the environment affects how we behave. Those who
formed the behavioral perspective felt that Freud s ideas were too complicated and that this was a
simpler way to explain human behavior simply that we are a product of our environment (Sarason
Sarason, 2005, p.67). The cognitive perspective puts emphasis on how people acquire and interpret
information and use it in problem solving. This perspective also emphasizes the mental processes
that people are unaware of or can be made aware of. The cognitive perspective focuses on our

Breast Feeding vs Formula Essay
Breast feeding is nutritionally, emotionally and physically superior for a mother and her child.
Human breast milk is not standard nor is it interchangeable with cow s milk. It is a dynamic fluid
that changes in composition to meet the needs of the baby as it grows ( Giving your Baby... Diet.
par. #10). Breast milkcontains growth factors and antibodies which stimulate the growing baby and
protect it from illness such as diarrhea, ear infections, rashes, allergies, asthma, skin problems,
pneumonia, respiratory illness and other serious illnesses. Breastfeeding also improves a baby s
chance of remaining healthy. These antibodies are not found in formula. They can not be sustained.

Brain processing is also faster (Georgieff, par. 23). The Journal of the American Medical
Association, reported that adults who as babies were breast fed for seven months had higher IQ
s than those who were breast fed for two weeks or less. A direct link may not exist between
breast fed babies and higher IQ s, but a correlation, between the amount of time that a mother
spends breast feeding and the amount of time she will spend with her child as he grows up is
defiantly indicated. If a mother is willing to devote herself to being the sole provider of food for
her baby when he is young then perhaps she will spend more time one on one with him as he
grows (Gupta, par. # 2 7). One oft cited advantage of breast feeding is the bond it promotes
between mother and baby. ( Giving your Baby...Diet. par. #10) Nursing is a valuable source of
security and comfort for your baby... Your and your baby comfort each other. Your baby regularly
needs your breast milk and physical closeness and your full breasts regularly need to be emptied.
Breast feeding develops an intimate relationship that can deepen the bond between you and your
baby (Neifert, par #6).
Even though breast milk is the best food that mothers can give to their babies, full of nutrition and
components that help babies to grow strong and healthy, there are several brands of instant milk
formulas adequate for supplying nutrition for an infant. Since all

written by Kate Chopin, the characters in the stories are alike in some ways. Both Dubus and
Chopin are an example of someone who didn t deserve what life threw at them. According to
TheFamousPeople website, Dubus was married three times and had six children. He had four
by his first wife, Patricia Lowe, and two by his last wife, Peggy Rambach. As for Chopin, she

many people, Dubus at the time was considered a hero. According to the CliffsNotes website,

Nozick s objection indicated that the experience machine limit us to man made reality , because

Question 2:
It is obvious that the main problem in Taracare is the missing cooperation and communication
between the departments.
The goals from the different departments are often not the same. And often they are in a conflict to
each other. They should think about what they want to achieve and how to lead Taracare.
Jorge should also immediately call a meeting with the department heads, so that they can see all the
problems from different point of views and so that they are all on the same level of knowledge.
After that they have to search for the reason of the problems and where the problems are coming
from. They have to work together to find solutions. It should be easier if they hold the meetings
from here on between only two departments. This gives more space for specific discussions. So the
meeting regarding low equipment utilization should be held together with the finance and
accounting department because it applies to both departments at the same time. Like I mentioned
earlier they have different goals. So the accounting department wants high equipment utilization, the
financial department on the other hand wants low inventory stock. Jorge should be present during
these meetings as an objective person. Because in the end he has to make sure the decisions have

you are going to marry a superstar, for instance, and they are married and twenty years older than

The World Is Becoming More And More Transparent Day By Day...
The world is becoming more and more transparent day by day through globalization since people
have begun to shift their perspective, and change their way of thinking and behave accordingly.
Everyone is spectating different types of cultures and the religions that other people follow across
the globe, along with the mix technological advancements which will ultimately shape what people
believe it to be normal or abnormal. Therefore, with the integration of what seems to be normal in
today s world can be in fact abnormal a 100 years from now, and vice versa. Michael Warner
illustrates in his writing, The Trouble with Normal that, People didn t sweat much over being
normal until the spread of statistics in the nineteenth century. Now they are surrounded by numbers
that tell them what normal is: census figures, market demographics, opinion polls, social science
studies, psychological surveys, clinical tests, sales figures, trends, the mainstream, the current
generation, the common man, the man on the street, the heartland of America etcetera. (Warner,
p.53). These are many of the few statistical perspectives that have taken great leaps through
technological advancements and globalization. Similarly, we get to learn more about the human
behavior through cultural and evolutionary perspectives. These methods can help guide the
behavior of normality and abnormality throughout time. It seems pretty obvious from today s world
that the mass migration towards the urban areas

Music In Igor Stravinsky s The Rite Of Spring
Igor Stravinsky s ballet The Rite of Spring is a representation of his Russian roots and everything
that he and his culture celebrated. Stravinsky managed to bring an earthy and wild tone to an
orchestra that audiences were used to being so elegant and high class. The symbol of spring to the
Russian culture represents their new year with the revival of the crops and unity that was crucial to
living. Embodying the gathering of people with their relationship with the Earth, Stravinsky
brought musicback to the origins of dance.
Born on June 17, 1882 in Oranienbaum, Russia, Igor Stravinsky was raised in St. Petersburg by his
father and mother. The family already with a musical background, Stravinsky did not want to
pursue the same career as his father and mother. While attending the University of St.

mind from studying law to become a music composer. After the arrival of the first World War,
Stravinsky, along with his wife and children, fled from Russia. Stravinsky then proceeded to
travel the world with his music, moving to France with his family in 1920. Though Stravinsky
moved from New York City to Los Angeles, his time spent in Paris helped influence his
inspiration for The Rites of Spring as the Parisian culture was diffused from Russia. During his

the way there, my mom falling asleep in the back while I talked to Jeremy while he was driving.
Every time I looked out of the window I saw beautiful shades of red or yellow. The second to last

  • 2. Answering Cheevers Questions Answering Cheevers question, Is College worth the money? is complicated for me for multiple reasons. College in this state is ridiculous for a number of reasons. Actually, college in America overall is a huge joke. The expense for school in itself is completely outrageous, that s even before you add in all the housing, tax, books and other random extra fees. Collegefor most can put an individual into debt before you even finish your first semester. The fact that you have to take a required class and be present, but then only to go home to self teach yourself, so that you can actually understand and learn the material to pass. The amount of money that our parents and students dish out each year to fund our college tuition is insane, sadly. ... Get more on HelpWriting.net ...

  • 5. Acts Of Paul And Thecla Analysis The account of Saint Thecla, as found in the literary piece, The Acts of Paul and Thecla, reveal the fervid passion of a woman in her pursuit of the monotheistic God, risking life and limb on her quest to make His gospel known. While the woman herself remains in question, her legacy continues as a strong representation of the role of women in the early Church a position often denied to many women by the patriarchal nature of the institution. Thecla defied the early leaders, pushing herself into a realm where only men had dared to enter, and succeeded in bringing an entire region under the wing of her Christian religion. Thecla was a leader, a visionary but, first and foremost, she was a woman. The Acts of Paul and Thecla is believed to have been a portion... Show more content on Helpwriting.net ... • 6. Character Analysis Of Hedda Gabler Hedda Gabler is a play in which the author, Henrik Ibsen, demonstrates the heavy shackles of society and the burden it impinges on women through the words and actions of the protagonist, Hedda Tesman. Hedda is a woman living for her own pleasure. At twenty nine years old and having been recently married, she is under enthused with her surroundings and yearns for titillating experiences. Obsessed with the aesthetics of the world, she wants to lead a poetic life filled with lust and luxury, yet is too frightened by what her Victorian values deem proper, to do so. Ibsen constructed a brilliant character that simultaneously arouses both sympathy and scorn from the reader through Hedda s own words and actions. Hedda arouses sympathy from the readers through her own personal conflicts. She is a woman trapped by herself in a loveless marriage to an ingenuous creature (52 Ibsen) named George Tesman. Tesman is a simple soul with very little to offer. Not only is he an entire social class below Hedda, but he is oblivious, insecure due to his own banalities, and overly reliant on his Aunts , despite being thirty three years old. Hedda married George due to a bond of sympathy. . . (31 Ibsen) formed between them and she took pity. . . (31 Ibsen) on George. This brings a sense of sincerity to Hedda that was not turned to such a high magnitude preceding this discussion between Judge Brack and herself. The North West Mounted Police also known as the NWMP was most effective from 1873 to 1920. It was created after the confederation. The NWMP had a big role in stopping the whiskey trade and the violence that was involved with it, on the southern prairies. Sir John A. Macdonald knew about the harmful effect of the whiskey trade on the Blackfoot, and Blood tribes, along with other First Nations. Lieutenant William F. Butler a British army officer said that the regions in Saskatchewan had no law, rules, and/or security for property or life. This caused robbers and murders to get away with their crimes, with no consequences. In June 1873, over 30 Assiniboines, American Indians were killed by the whiskey trade in an event called Cypress Hills Massacre. The NWMP affected Canada as it enforced the federal laws in the west, and the Arctic. They also helped end the North West Rebellion with the federal government and made rules for the Klondike Gold Rush. Therefore, Canada was affected by the North West Mounted Police in many ways. • 9. Stylistic Characteristics Of The Blues CH11 Question 1 There are several stylistic characteristics of the blues. The first one is the blue notes, which is the bent technique for lowering the pitch of third and seventh scale degrees in the major scale(259). The next one is the blue chorus, which is three line lyrics, and it contains fill which is the instrument response of the call and response between vocal and instrument. The third feature is the blue progression which is the form of the combination between tonic(I), subdominant(IV), and dominant(V) chords. It is usually arranged as: I / IV I / V I . Another characteristic is that the timbre of the vocals in blueshave a wide varieties. Every single piece of blue music features a different kind of vocal texture. The rhythm in the blues has a characteristic called swung which means the long short pattern of the rhythm. In all three pieces of music, the blue note and the blue chorus are applied to the composition. The bent texture of the pitch and the neat separation of the lyrics can be easily notice in the music. The call and response in vocals and instruments, on the other hand, is not so obvious in Can t Help Lovin Dat Man, but I think, though subtle, it is still there at the end of each line. The rhythm in the Muleskinner Blues is more steady instead of the long short patterned swung. The swung is not so obvious in Can t Help Lovin Dat Man, either. Overall, there are some standard blue style in all three pieces of music, but we ... Get more on HelpWriting.net ...

Its summer time and the most important thing in hot weather is the need to quench your thirst. What is a better drink then a refreshing Lemonade. Since long I was very much interested in opening a lemonade stand, which I finally decided to have it implemented before the summer season starts. After a lot of research and hard work I have come up with a business model that would work efficiently in generating revenue and also help local community. Pricing Strategy: Since the Lemonade business depends on lemon and sugar, our company will have to keep an eye on the stock needed and the availability of the two item locally and internationally. Even though the business will be at the peak in summer and will slow down in winter, a close monitoring on the international prices is a must. The future plan of the company is to expand in other continents by giving out franchise. So if it winter in US we generate business revenue from countries like Australia and New Zealand where they would have summer. To keep standard pricing and profit margin for the franchises, a detailed costing would be required. The things that are needed to be considered would be Cost of Lemon, Cost of Sugar, Cost of water, Cost of container, 10% overheads (labor, rent, utilities, etc), 5% franchising fee and 7% profit margin. In addition to this pricing 2% price fluctuation will be added to the cost. With this calculation the company and the franchises should make enough money to survive in the competitive market. Global Market: Even though the product can be packed in a container and can be sold globally, I would prefer to have local franchises so that we can provide pure and authentic lemonade without preservatives as we promised. Also, opening a franchise will give local people employment, which is also a way to give back to the community. If we stick to the plans and ethics, I think our company has a bright future ... Flowers for Algernon is about a boy who is much less intelligent than the average person, so to make himself smarter, he undergoes an experimental surgery. But as Charlie s IQ continues to grow, he soon comes to find out that all good things must come to an end. Many say that Charlie starts out as the object of dehumanization and isolation, seeing as how his friends treat him, but many more insist that the dehumanization and isolation aren t completely developed until the middle of the story, where Charlie becomes too smart to interact with the people that gave him his newfound intelligence. These themes are often debated upon as to whether or not they become more or less relevant as the story progresses, but what most don t consider is that these themes have always appeared in Charlie s life, he was just too blind to see what was always there. In the beginning of the story, Charlie is quizzed with the Rorschach Test. The test administer tells Charlie to tell him what he sees in the ink. Since Charlie has a tendency to take things quite literally, he first tries to find actual objects in the ink. When the administrator tell him that s not quite what he means, Charlie get scared that the administrator is mad at him because he thinks he spilled the ink. This already demonstrates how dehumanized and isolated Charlie really is. Later in the story, Charlie finds out that he has been chosen to undergo the experimental procedure and happily agrees even though he really has no idea what he is getting into. Although women s presence may be necessary to the operation of the military, their placement in combat positions would prove to be a devastating mistake. Sharing with us the three letter acronym (SAR) which was given to us by our leaders in China, this ordeal has left its mark on our city in more ways than one. It had caused a widespread wave of mysophobia and health consciousness among the Hong Kong people, which outlasted the SARS epidemic but is probably slowly waning. It has also raised the awareness of the government of the importance of the control of infectious diseases, both in the community and in the clinical setting. Most importantly, SARS showed us what works and what needs improving in terms of infection control in the event of a major epidemic. • 24. The Importance Of Innate Ideas In John LockeBy David Locke Another problem with Locke s insistence that innate ideas do not exist, is that necessary truths, that is, contingent propositions (2+2=4), cannot be acquired through experience alone. If necessary truths exist, that would at least infer that innate ideas exist and are merely revealed through experience for necessary truths are a priori, which implies that innate knowledge exists as a disposition. Beyond this, there is the possibility that we can form an idea without a corresponding sensory impression. While not without its flaws, the argument that one can generate an idea without first being exposed to the relevant sensory experience is illustrated in Hume s missing shade of blue example. Locke claims that in order for an idea to be in the mind, we must be conscious of it, which indicates that there is not much leeway allowed for memory, that is, a power of the mind to revive perceptions it once had. The question then, is whether we can know things without being conscious of them. It seems as though it is possible, but it is important to note that regardless if we can or not, what is unconscious must have once been conscious. For this reason, a potential response Locke would give to Hume with reference to the missing shade of blue, is that even if one is able to fill it in, they would still be using their senses in some way to access that knowledge and perhaps it would be knowledge made out of a long train of proofs, which highlights the mental fatigue factor in play. With regards to Locke s theory of knowledge, he holds that knowledge is divided into three types: intuitive knowledge (knowledge the mind can attain without the need for recognizing something else), demonstrative knowledge (a kind of knowledge cannot occur without the help of previous information), and sensation knowledge (knowledge that results from empirical knowledge of the known object). As such, it follows that our knowledge of our own existence is intuitive, our knowledge of God s existence is demonstrative, and our knowledge of things present to sense is sensitive. Locke believes that intuitive knowledge is real knowledge and the most important degree of knowledge wherein there is no need for inference as the Mind is at no ... Get more on HelpWriting.net ...

  • 28. Breast Feeding vs Formula Essay Breast feeding is nutritionally, emotionally and physically superior for a mother and her child. Human breast milk is not standard nor is it interchangeable with cow s milk. It is a dynamic fluid that changes in composition to meet the needs of the baby as it grows ( Giving your Baby... Diet. par. #10). Breast milkcontains growth factors and antibodies which stimulate the growing baby and protect it from illness such as diarrhea, ear infections, rashes, allergies, asthma, skin problems, pneumonia, respiratory illness and other serious illnesses. The Journal of the American Medical Association, reported that adults who as babies were breast fed for seven months had higher IQ s than those who were breast fed for two weeks or less. A direct link may not exist between breast fed babies and higher IQ s, but a correlation, between the amount of time that a mother spends breast feeding and the amount of time she will spend with her child as he grows up is defiantly indicated. If a mother is willing to devote herself to being the sole provider of food for her baby when he is young then perhaps she will spend more time one on one with him as he grows (Gupta, par. # 2 7). One oft cited advantage of breast feeding is the bond it promotes between mother and baby. ( Giving your Baby...Diet. par. #10) Nursing is a valuable source of security and comfort for your baby... Your and your baby comfort each other. Your baby regularly needs your breast milk and physical closeness and your full breasts regularly need to be emptied. Breast feeding develops an intimate relationship that can deepen the bond between you and your baby (Neifert, par #6). Even though breast milk is the best food that mothers can give to their babies, full of nutrition and components that help babies to grow strong and healthy, there are several brands of instant milk formulas adequate for supplying nutrition for an infant. Question 2: It is obvious that the main problem in Taracare is the missing cooperation and communication between the departments. The goals from the different departments are often not the same. And often they are in a conflict to each other. They should think about what they want to achieve and how to lead Taracare. Jorge should also immediately call a meeting with the department heads, so that they can see all the problems from different point of views and so that they are all on the same level of knowledge.
