something negative, most likely to be later revealed to
the audience
• The low-key lighting and use of brown colours adds to
the gloomy feel of the scene

• This is an over the shoulder shot and
shows who we believe to be the main
character with two other people
• This scene also has a gloomy feel to it as
it has a lot of low-key lighting and
shadows
• This shot has a soft focus which could
indicate to us the time of day, in this
instance it looks like late afternoon
• Neither of the two characters look happy
suggesting that whatever is effecting the
boy is effecting them too
Shot 3
• This is a close up shot of one of the characters smoking
• The character is young and is most likely underage
• This could show the audience that he is rebellious
potentially foreshadowing that issues to come may be his
doing
Shot 4
• Shot for is the picture of the main title
• It is a completely black background with very small writing that is in
white
• These colours contrast each other and with the basic font and a solid
block colour for the back ground it keeps the audience in the dark
about what the film may actually be about
• This gives a suspicious feel to the film
linking to the genre of it (horror)

• This is an extreme close up of one of the characters with another
characters face cutting into the side of the frame
• This stops the audience from being able to view his full face
• This can create a suspenseful atmosphere for the audience as
you don’t fully see who he is
Shot 6
• Shot six is a close up of the main character
• The colour used has now changed to red instead of mainly
browns, black and white
• This could show the audience that there is some element of
danger in this film
• It could also suggest that there is
something dangerous about the
character himself
Shot 7
• Shot 7 is a close up shot of a boys tag
• This shows to the audience that he is trouble and is rebellious
• It shows that he is not just a little rebellious but that it is at the
point where the police are involved
• The fact that there is a close up of it suggests that it plays a
significant part in the film as it would in the characters life
Shot 8
• Shot 8 is a close up of someone attaching the tag to the boy
• This shows the audience that the tag is new meaning that what
he had done to have to have it put on was done quite recently
• This may make the audience want to watch on as they’ll want to
know the reason why he has been tagged
Shot 9
• Shot 9 is a over the shoulder shot of
the man who was attaching the tag to
the boy
• The audience now knows that he is
an authority figure and has a lot of
control over him
• The fact he is wearing a leather
jacket could portray the idea that he
is strong and manly and is not easily
manipulated
