This document outlines the key details of a film including characters, plot points, and presentation of information. The main characters are Joe, the leader of the group; Alden, Joe's confident friend; and Greg, the clumsy one. The film begins with a scene from the end, then shows the characters going to a party where people start disappearing after strange noises. By the middle, more are taken by the "thing". In the end, it is Joe and Alden trying to escape the attacking thing, but Joe is ultimately captured, connecting to the opening scene. 2. Key Characters
 Joe- this character is leader of the group, excitable.
Cocky, thinks everyone is over reacting.
 Alden- this character is one of Joe‟s best mates, he
is very confident, energetic and not afraid to be
turned down by the girls.
 Greg- Greg is more of the dopey one, he doesn't say
much and is normally clumsy

3. Outline of Story

At the very beginning of the film a scene from the end is shown. After the
opening sequence the beginning starts. The 3 characters are walking to
the train station to go to the party and are looking forward to it. This
carries on until they are at the party. The main part of the beginning of the
film is establishing the party mood and the calmness of everyone.

That‟s when people here noises but they ignore them. Alden gets worried
and explores. This is when Greg‟s character disappears and is taken by
the “thing”. Alden tries to tell people but Joe insists that he is over
reacting. Towards the end of the middle the “thing” starts to pick off more
victims.

At the end it is Joe and Alden trying to run away and hide from the “thing”
attacking people at the party. They are fighting to stay alive and the last
few scenes include Alden and Joe running away. Joe‟s character is then
taken and this leads onto the scene shown at the beginning of the film.
The film ends with a kind of cliffhanger where the audience makes the
decision in their own mind what happened.

4. Information established in
opening
 The very beginning of the opening scene will be the
end of the film, and will be using flashbacks to
establish that there is a „thing‟ around in the college.
We will also establish that it is taking people but the
audience don‟t know what it is as they don‟t get to
see it.
 The audience will know that the characters are going
to a party as at the end of the opening scene they
are talking about it as they make their way to the
party.

5. Presentation of information
 We are going to have a mixture of a montage and
continuous scenes. It is going to be a continuous
scene at the beginning with a flashback included.
This will then lead onto a montage sequence which
will be the titles opening sequence. Once finished it
will go into the beginning of the film with a
continuous scene.

6. Film Inspiration
 Some of the films that have inspired us and given us
ideas of how to layout our movie are:
 Cloverfield
 Paranormal Activity
 And also thriller films with horror aspects.

8. Target Audience
 The specific target audience is for teenagers, as our
film is a thriller, and it‟s specifically aimed at them
because it would be too scary for kids, and
adults, however it‟s more relevant to teenagers, as
there is a party in the film. Also it‟s aimed at no
specific gender, so males and females can
view, preferably together.
 The main interests is thriller, and the generic viewer
would be these friends as they‟re a mixture of male
and female, and are about 16-19 years old.
