This document summarizes the Langley-Adams Library's transition from the Dewey Decimal system to BISAC subject headings for organizing their non-fiction collection. It describes how patron preferences for browsing bookstores inspired the change. Library staff re-labeled over 500 boxes of books, updated records, and reorganized the collection. Since implementing the new system, patrons enjoy the easier browsing and staff find shelving simpler. The children's room may be next to transition to improve the browsing experience.
