 Can irritate eyes and respiratory system.
o Sodium lauryl sulfate
 Has been linked to cancer, neurotoxicity, organ toxicity, skin
irritation and endocrine disruption
o Formaldehyde
 Long exposures can cause watery eyes, burning eyes, nose and
throat, coughing skin irritations and lung issues
o Propylene glycol
 Is scarce but can affect liver and kidneys.
o Toluene
 Irritation of the eyes and nose; weakness, exhaustion, confusion,
dizziness, headache;dilated pupils, lacrimation (tears), muscle
fatigue, numbness or tingling of the skin, liver and Kidney damage
o Benzophenone
 Can cause photo-sensitivity, DNA cell loss, melanoma, breast
cancer, eczema, and allergies. Commonly found in nail polish, sun
screen lotions and lipstick.

 Has been linked to low-level toxicity in skin
o Homosalate
 Can cause DNA strands to break, interferes with sexual
development, and Increases risk for cellular damage that can lead to
cancer
o Methoxycinnmate
 Can disrupt hormones, cause cancer and cause a person’s skin to
age more quickly
