– homes, footwear, clothing and swimming
pools,
What do they eat?
– Beetles and cochroaches
Distinguishing feature:
– shiny black in colour

Hot north part of Australia
What do they eat?
Rats, birds, lizards
Distinguishing feature :
Very long and its body is light brown, dark brown,
copper or olive in colour

7. King Brown or Mulga Snake
Where are they found:
Main land Australia
What do they eat?
birds, mammals and frogs
Distinguishing feature :
Some are mid-brown, some copper, others being
quite dark

• North Queensland in salt water
• What do they eat?
• Just about anything that is made of flesh and
bone
• Fish, birds, snakes and anything that walks on
two or four legs
• Humans
• Distinguishing feature:
• a very very large head
• I have seen one on at a zoo in Cairns

• Waters around the Pacific islands
• What do they eat?
• Humans
• Fish, birds, seals, turtles, sea snakes
• Distinguishing feature:
• broad flat head
• I have seen one at Sydney Aquarium
