The Dall's porpoise is a small cetacean found in the northern Pacific Ocean. It has a triangular head and robust body with dark coloring and white markings. Dall's porpoises eat small fish and cephalopods. Their range extends throughout the Bering Sea, Sea of Okhotsk, and Sea of Japan. Females typically give birth every three years after a 12 month gestation period. While still numerous, Dall's porpoises are threatened by incidental catch in fisheries and coastal whaling operations.
