1) Government allocation for Dalit welfare in the national budget is extremely insufficient compared to their population size. Only 9.23 crore Taka was allocated in 2015, which is inadequate for improving living standards of over 55 million Dalits. 2) Despite government and non-government efforts, Dalits still face discrimination and lack access to basic rights and amenities. The 2014 Anti-Discrimination Act aimed to address this was not implemented due to lack of clear guidelines and dedicated funding. 3) Experts recommend significantly increasing budget allocation for Dalit welfare based on their population. A dedicated ministry is also needed to effectively implement programs that can empower Dalits and address long-standing inequities.
