…when you cycle
for the charity Shine.
Shine is a national charity supporting
everyone affected by spina bifida and
hydrocephalus.
These conditions may be
unfamiliar to you, but 1 in 1,000
children are affected by
hydrocephalus, and every day
two women learn that their
unborn baby has spina bifida.
Shine provides support to everyone
affected and their families, friends, and the
medical professionals who care for them.
To ensure this support is constant, Shine
relies completely on the fundraising efforts
of extraordinary people like YOU – people
who go the extra mile!
The first stage is easy – simply check

How to get involved and how we
support you?
The next time you're going for a ride,
with friends or with your club, adding the
dimension of fundraising for Shine can
enhance your event experience. Or you
may wish to design a bespoke route for
the occasion. Many fundraisers join an
existing event; you can choose from
hundreds of rides here –
www.britishcycling.org.uk/events.
We will supply each participant with a
complimentary WinnersWearYellow
Jersey (worth £35) and support pack,
plus tips and ideas of how to reach your
fundraising target and beyond! We’ll tell
you how you can publicise your event
and help you raise awareness of Shine
at the same time.

What is WinnersWearYellow?
Shine’s yellow jersey follows the unique
tradition of the Maillot Jaune (yellow jersey)
– the iconic symbol worn by the leader of
the world’s most prestigious bike race, the
Tour de France. Pairing perfectly with the
yellow branding of Shine’s logo, our
cycling jersey represents
the winning colour
for our active
fundraisers.
