This document discusses perspectives on managing personal information and relationships between organizations. It identifies four thematic areas related to economics, social issues, safety, and a law workgroup. It also describes generic management capabilities and lists stakeholders like employees, suppliers, and customers. Finally, it provides examples of how personal information flows between a person and various organizations they interact with, like schools, employers, banks, and more.
Standardization, centralization, process rigor and labor arbitrage have been the hallmarks of today’s model for managing the Business of IT. IT organizations have used this model to achieve economies of scale and minimize the average total cost of IT. This approach has largely been in place for the past 3 decades that were characterized by large, multi-year IT development projects, a growing base of legacy applications and a gradual evolution of the underlying technology. While providing predictability and efficiency, this model has also served to discourage innovation, reduce business alignment and drives the balkanization of skills within the IT workforce.
In this presentation, I describe an alternative model for managing IT in today's technology intensive organizations.

Towards Expertise Modelling for Routing Data Cleaning Tasks within a Communit...Umair ul Hassan

Presented at the ICIQ 2012
ABSTRACT:
Applications consuming data have to deal with variety of data quality issues such as missing values, duplication, incorrect values, etc. Although automatic approaches can be utilized for data cleaning the results can remain uncertain. Therefore updates suggested by automatic data cleaning algorithms require further human verification. This paper presents an approach for generating tasks for uncertain updates and routing these tasks to appropriate workers based on their expertise. Specifically the paper tackles the problem of modelling the expertise of knowledge workers for the purpose of routing tasks within collaborative data quality management. The proposed expertise model represents the profile of a worker against a set of concepts describing the data. A simple routing algorithm is employed for leveraging the expertise profiles for matching data cleaning tasks with workers. The proposed approach is evaluated on a real world dataset using human workers. The results demonstrate the effectiveness of using concepts for modelling expertise, in terms of likelihood of receiving responses to tasks routed to workers.

This is a talk I was asked to give at the What is Universe? at the University of Oregon, (on their Portland Campus). I cover this history of the Internet Identity Workshop and talk about its core nature as a torus / bowl a feminine form and how this has resulted in the innovation of Self-Sovereign Identity
Stephen Wilson, Founder, Lockstep Australia
For all the talk of ecosystems, we've actually ignored the ecology of identity. High grade digital identities are ensembles of relationships, business rules and technologies, evolved to fit specific ecological niches. Serious identities tend to resist federation for much the same reason as a salt water fish struggles when dropped into a fresh water tank. To progress, we should drop down a level and federate concrete component attributes instead of high level abstract identities.
Innovation in the Digital Identity space is crucial for progress. Here’s a fact: a new identity is generated with every birth. Now consider this: by the time you finish your day today, a staggering 360,000 children will be eligible for an identity document.

Keynote of Stefan Decker, Professor for Digital Enterprise & Director of DERI, National University of Ireland, Galway, at the European Data Forum 2013, 9 April 2013 in Dublin, Ireland: Big Data In Ireland - Linked Data and beyond
This presentation was presented as the pre-opening talk at Identity North 2016 in Toronto. It covers the big question - What is Identity? Key Concepts and Terms. Contextualizing Identity for Enterprise, Government and in the Commons.
In a May 2020 webinar, Evernym was joined by Karla McKenna and Christoph Schneider from the Global Legal Entity Identifier Foundation (GLEIF) for a presentation and panel discussion on 'organization credentials.'
This Blue Paper was prepared as a result of a roundtable discussion organised by the Takshashila Institution on 4 September 2017, based on the Discussion Document, Beyond Consent: A New Paradigm for Data Protection.
The discussion document brings forth a rights-based model (Rights Model) to help secure the interests of a data subject sharing his data with data controllers. This Rights Model assures to every individual, an inalienable right over his personal data. Any data collector that wishes to access a data subject's personal data must ensure that they do so in a manner that does not violate this inherent data right.
The Blue Paper highlights the recommendations of the all participants at the roundtable discussion, which was chaired by Rahul Matthan.

H rcom still wondering about social learning_finalMike Merriman
Still wondering about “social” learning?
DescriptionWhat is social learning and how can it transform your employee experience? How do workplace communities foster a collaborative company culture, in which the collective wisdom of the masses is as highly valued as the insights of “experts?” More importantly, how can we successfully leverage this trend and fully realize the positive business impact that this promises?
Corporate learning has traditionally focused solely on the transfer of information, knowledge, and expertise. This is being challenged and transformed by interactive, collaborative exchanges through social tools, collaboration and online communities, providing a full employee experience. Increasingly, traditional learning is evolving into a community dynamic, initiating more open, honest conversations and proving to have a powerful impact on job and business performance.
In this session, attendees will learn:
1. How to leverage collaborative tools, including online communities and social networking to foster workforce learning and development
2. How to build a sustainable and productive employee experience
3. How organizations can improve business functions, including brand and partner experience, customer experience and employee experience through social learning and community
