About the Masterclass Leader:
Major General (Ret) Vasileios Raptis, Former Assistant Chief of Staff ACOS J6, CIS & Cyber Defence Directorate, SHAPE HQ, NATO
Drawing on extensive experience, from a
career spent at the forefront of CIS and
Cyber security, within both the Greek Army
and NATO’s CIS and Cyber Defence domain,
the workshop shall benefit from the guidance
of Major General Vasileios Raptis
Major General Vasileios Raptis, former Assistant Chief Of Staff
(ACOS J6) CIS & Cyber Defence at Supreme Headquarters
Allied Powers Europe (SHAPE) Headquarters, took over his
duties on 21st May 2013. He was responsible for directing and
overseeing all CIS and Cyber Defence function area
activities across Allied Command Operations (ACO), at all
levels of command and for all ongoing operations and
exercises. His main duty was to execute strategic planning
concerning the CIS & Cyber Defence support to NATO
operations enabling effective joint, land, maritime and air
operations, in order to contribute to the realisation of
SACEUR’ vision and mission. In particular, in his capacity he
represented the operational requirement holder on
behalf of the NATO Enterprise regarding the development
of NATO Wide C3/CIS and Cyber Defence capabilities.
Moreover, he was responsible for exercising, on behalf
of SACEUR, oversight of all operational aspects regarding
the development, management, acquisition and/or
implementation of major communications, command and
control, or intelligence (C4I) systems, programmes and/or
capabilities that deliver CIS & Cyber Defence services and
support to ACO
In March 2015 he was promoted to Major General and upon
the completion of his assignment to NATO he formally retired
on 27th July 2015
