University Education
M.TECH.(Communication & Information systems) Passed with approx. 69% marks (First Division) in
2001 from Aligarh Muslim University, Aligarh, India.
Dissertation: “An Algorithm For Fault Free Sub cubes In Hypercube Multiprocessor”.
Brief Summary: This dissertation attempts to provide strategies to overcome the effects of faulty elements
and simulate a fault-free architecture on the faulty system. The problem of determining the number of
faulty processors and faulty links in an n-cube such that no m-cube is fault-free is considered. Yang and
Tien also used the sub cube portioning technique to effectively achieve the embedding of rings, routing
and global operations in faulty hyper cubes. We study how to allocate sub cubes in the faulty hypercube
and thus maintain the multitasking capability of the system. By using the sub cubes partitioning techniques
, a sub cube is first selected and then the faults in the selected sub cubes are replaced by the fault free
neighbours in other sub cubes. We first discuss the allocation with two faults since in the worst case, two
faults in an n-cube are sufficient to destroy every possible regular (n-1) cube. The sub cube portioning
technique used for a two fault case is also applied to overcome the situation with more than two faults.
Finally, we develop a two phase fault tolerant sub cube allocation strategy in the presence of faults. The
5
first phase is the reconfiguration process based on the sub cube portioning technique which finds the set of
disjoint sub cubes in a faulty hypercube. The second phase applies an existing fault free sub cube
allocation strategy.
B.Sc. Engineering (Computer): Passed with approx. 67% marks (First Division) in 1996 from Aligarh
Muslim University, Aligarh, India.
B.Sc. Engineering (Computer) Project:
Project:. “Design Of Adaptive Routing For Distributed Network”
Brief Summary: In this project we conclude that message routing in networks directly determine
message delays through the network. The objective of a routing algorithm is to deliver messages in
the shortest possible time. Routing schemes can be classified as fixed or dynamic, deterministic or
adaptive and centralize or distributed however, fixed or deterministic routing strategies, which
employ centralized techniques are usually considered for networks with predictable loads. A
reliable network should provide alternate routes for message transmission in order to handle such
conditions as link or node failure. Reliability is an important consideration for network that is
exposed to node or link failures. It can also be important for business considerations. Such as for
an airline reservation network requiring 24 hour uninterrupted service.
