Over the past few years I have been employed as a senior analyst/developer within the NHS and other companies, using MS
Access and Excel with advanced VBA, taking the raw data from various sources, such as Oracle, SQL server, Business
Objects etc. I am also able write queries to extract data from SQL databases and Business Objects. - I have a current

of consistent quality. Producing 18 week WT data etc. also ad-hoc queries as required. Automate reports using Access

SQL code. (Most of the practices used MIQUEST so I had to write queries to get the information required.)

Design and develop an automated HR monitoring system for the CPS areas, pulling out raw data from BO, starting with
the London Borough areas, using Access and Excel. Analysis of HR data – design and develop school care voucher
scheme.
NHS – Scarborough, Whitby and Rydale PCT – early June 2006 Extended to End Sept 2006 – Analyst - Access/Excel Developer
Analysing Patient data, for a “Turnaround Project” – design and develop an automatic monitoring system for 29 main
projects incorporating 85 sub-projects showing a £14m saving, including identifying appropriate and consistent data
sources for the various projects. All projects had to have a cost / benefit analysis. Also general analysis of patient data
to find anomalies. Work closely with commissioning managers.

Build an automatic “score card”, downloading data from an external database, (Oracle). Analysing data, implementing

Design and develop new Access 2000 database utilizing VBA for new incentive campaign for a major car company.
This involved a French Auto Manufacturer requiring an incentive scheme for its Distributorships in the UK. The
incentive had three components to it – sales of accessories against budget (quarterly); monthly promotions and a
quarterly look at how the Distributorship was run
Building Services Co. – RP&P Management Ltd - Mid Aug – Mid Sept 2004. - CONSULTANT
Design and develop new Access 2000 database utilizing VBA & SQL (behind forms, reports and in modules).
This database is for surveying buildings. It takes a type of building, car park; hotel etc. auto generates various questions
specific to each type of building and has a series of recommendations for each question. This outputs a series of reports
with the costs against each recommendation. – Amend Web site

Production of Management Information / information analyst. Cleaned data files (csv files) then imported them into
Access databases, approx 30,000 records per week, this data was appended to existing data, and reported on – the
various reports were distributed to the Directors, heads of departments, and the individual Learndirect operating units. –
Some of this data was imported into an Excel spreadsheet; this indicated overall performance to the set KPI’s.
Also produced ad hoc queries/reports both from within HO and its operating units. (Map Info used to track sites)

NB Prior to June 2003 I was a senior manager/director in engineering
I am an experienced analyst and Access/Excel developer. I am used to seeking out information, getting
it accepted and then implementing it.
I can do almost any thing with Access and Excel (using Macros advanced VBA and SQL). I have taken
data from various sources, eg SQL server, Oracle etc. I can automate all kinds of reports. I am also able
to document both user and technical aspects of the project, in MS Word or PDF files.
I have scoped, developed, tested and documented many "business critical" databases, for a number of
different industries, supplied MI to various "directors". (Also "bug" fixed existing systems)
I have been a director in engineering and as such I have strong communication skills, up and down, with
good presentational skills, excellent at problem solving, planning and working under pressure to tight
deadlines.
I am only interested is very short term contracts ( 1 to 3 weeks), also will do only 1 or 2 days a week,
either on site or working from home.

  • 3. I am an experienced analyst and Access/Excel developer. I am used to seeking out information, getting it accepted and then implementing it. I can do almost any thing with Access and Excel (using Macros advanced VBA and SQL). I have taken data from various sources, eg SQL server, Oracle etc. I can automate all kinds of reports. I am also able to document both user and technical aspects of the project, in MS Word or PDF files. I have scoped, developed, tested and documented many "business critical" databases, for a number of different industries, supplied MI to various "directors". (Also "bug" fixed existing systems) I have been a director in engineering and as such I have strong communication skills, up and down, with good presentational skills, excellent at problem solving, planning and working under pressure to tight deadlines. I am only interested is very short term contracts ( 1 to 3 weeks), also will do only 1 or 2 days a week, either on site or working from home.
