Profile:
I have over nine years of experience working as a Senior Data Quality analyst
providing reporting, analysis and test support to organisations such as the Ministry of
Health and the Ministry of Education. Having worked with the Ministry of Health on
different data collections, I have been able to develop a vast knowledge of the
Ministry’s policies around the delivery of the best possible health care in New
Zealand. In addition to working with the health sector, which contains 20 DHBs and
over 300 private hospitals for data collection and data quality maintenance I have
also been involved in various other projects as a data quality SME in support of
Ministry’s health outcome initiatives such as Cancer directory, Ante-Natal Screening
programme, National Booking system and National Mental health program.
I have been involved in diverse range of work including visiting District Health Boards
(DHB), analysing data for health policy issues and DHB performance on health data
reporting. I have been able to able to deliver the right sized solutions to business
challenges using my knowledge of public and private health sector business
requirements and my technical expertise in the field of writing SQL queries, PL SQL
code, generating reports using different reporting tools, and user acceptance testing.
Continuous improvements and benchmarking against industry standards are
important to me. To keep myself up-to-date with technology and business
requirements, I have successfully completed the Advanced SQL, SAS, course
PRINCE2 foundation course and am planning to study PRINCE2 practitioner.
I am willing to be a member of an organization where growth prospects are

Role: Sr Data Quality Analyst
Ministry of Health (MOH) is responsible for the management and development of
New Zealand’s health and disability system. The information plays an important role
at MOH to be able to provide all New Zealanders the better health. MOH receives
data from different parts of the health sector through the use of health services or

mandatory reporting national collections and from national population health surveys.
The data collected at MOH is used to monitor the health of New Zealanders, manage
services and subsidies, inform policy decisions, meet legislative requirements, and
much more.
I have been involved in a number of National collections through my career at MOH.
At present my role covers the monitoring of data quality of MOH’s biggest collections
called National Minimum Data Set and Program for the integration of Mental Health
data delivering complete services to the health sector to collect best quality
information in the national repository.
I have been involved in all aspects of the Compliance Testing of the changes taking
place at MOH each year. I have successfully lead the Compliance Testing between
MOH and DHBs systems after changes to the National Collections to ensure that
the patient management systems employed at DHB world comply with the National
Collection systems employed at MOH. My main responsibilities at MOH include:
Ensure the overall Quality of the data collected aligns with and achieves to
a high standard in order to help MOH to provide best advice to the health
minister.
Coach and mentor new team members about data quality and data
correction activities.
Develop and maintained test scripts to help sector achieve compliance to
the changes taking place in the National Collection systems.
Convene the defect triage meetings with BA, Vendor and DHB as well as
with the project teams.
Attend weekly Senior Data Quality Analysts meetings and provide
information about collections data quality and other progress and issues.
Review the testing documents (scripts & test cases)
Manage test environment & testing issues
Liaise and coordinate with DHB Software vendor, Developer and Business
Analysts at MOH.
Organisation: Ministry of Education June 2005 – June 2006
Role: Business Analyst
Ministry of Education has a leadership role, working with education sector agencies
and other government departments to ensure that education makes a significant
contribution to New Zealand society and economy, now and in the future. The
ministry works with education providers (early childhood education centres and
schools) to regulate and fund their activities, and to provide them with support and
information to ensure that they are performing to achieve equitable education
outcomes for each student.

I worked as Business Analyst at Ministry of Education’s Tertiary Information Systems
and Sector Liaison (TISSL) unit. My main responsibilities included Data Quality
analysis where my role was to improve the quality of historic data as well as
improving the quality of data coming from the tertiary institutions. I was also involved
in preparing requirements specifications for new Tertiary Data Quality projects and
changes / updates to the existing projects. I was regularly meeting with the Vendors
to ensure that the appropriate specifications are communicated to the vendor in a
timely manner. Apart from that my job also included the User Acceptance testing of
the new releases being put into the National system.
Organisation: Cyberelves Limited May 1999 – Mar 2000
Role: Software Developer
Cyberelves Ltd provides services such as web development consulting, creative
design consulting, system and platform integration, internet consulting, intranet and
extranet development, Web designing, and package implementation services.
My role at Cyberelves Limited role was to develop Oracle database backend using
PL SQL code to enable database driven websites.
Organisation: Bharat Electronics Limited May 1988 – Dec 1998
Role: Techincal Assistant
Bharat Electronics Limited (BEL) is a Government of India undertaking and is
involved in design and manufacturing of cutting edge Defence electronics products.
I worked as a supervisor in the electronics assembly area of wireless communication
sets and supervised a team of ten members. In addition to that I was also involved in
quality assurance area where my main role was to liase between the production
team and customers to ensure that quality products are delivered to the customer. I
also worked as a tutor of Computer softwre that mainly included teaching Microsoft
products namely MS Word, Excel, Access to the company employees.
