I am an experienced Associate Director, with a background in AV, who has worked in
both sales and buying agencies for over 20 years. In that time I have developed
strong management and communication skills and built good relationships with media
owners, agencies, clients and auditors.

Career History
MediaCom: June 1999- to date
October 2012 to date: I am a Connect Team Lead in Investment, managing a team
of 10 AV planners. I am responsible for over-seeing the planning across a multitude
of clients including GSK, Novartis, Suntory (Lucozade/Ribena), Direct Line Group,
Bayer, Agent’s Mutual, Eon, Allianz, CRUK, Transitions and Tefal. AV specialism
within my new role retained but with a remit to deliver plans that are integrated across
all media lines.
Key responsibilities are:
To deliver best in class multi-media plans to our clients with a focus on AV
To build and maintain strong relationships with media owners and clients to ensure
we deliver the best possible solutions to briefs
Develop partnerships with media owners, negotiate the deals to maximise value for
our clients.
Commercial lead within Connect to drive revenue working closely with our
sponsorship team to seek out opportunities.
Assist Marketplace buying teams calculating value requirements to ensure price
guarantees are met and deal with auditors when required. Adjusting value
requirements on an on-going basis.
May 2009 – September 2012: Associate Director in the Investment Department. I
was responsible for all the TV, VOD and Cinema spend on GSK, Kwik Fit, Brita and
Conair with billings of around £40m. I managed a team of 8 TV planner/buyers within
a larger multi-media investment team.
Oct’06 to April 2009: TV Group Manager responsible for a team of 5 TV
planner/buyers reporting into a TV Director. Accounts on the group included GSK,
Churchill, Shell, Ikea, Navman, Brita, Cancer Research and IPC with billings
exceeding £60m
Jan’04 –Sept’06: Account Manager for NatWest, Churchill and Shell. I was
responsible for all implementational planning and buying on TV. The above clients
were audited so I was responsible for ensuring that the best possible scores were
achieved in the audits. 2005 spend around £23m.
Other Responsibilities:
2007 to 2012 A key role in assisting the Group M Head of Trading and MediaCom
Head of TV with new business and deal negotiations.
2002 to 2010: IDS Agency Co-ordinator involved in deal negotiations and monitoring
delivery. The role expanded to cover all Group M agencies.
2002 to April 2009: RBS TV Co-ordinator mainly responsible for ensuring we
delivered our cost/quality guarantees to the client .The role involved negotiating
overall Ebiquity scores on all RBS brands for the year.
GSK group: Jan’02-Dec’03. Account management responsibilities for Lucozade
Sport/Energy, NiQuitin, Shell UK, and Joseph Enterprises which in total represents an
annual expenditure of £15m.
Senior Planner/Buyer on VW Group Jun’99-Dec’01 - Bought TV campaigns for
Audi, VW and SEAT achieving high audit scores from Barsby Rowe.
TSMS (Television Sales & Marketing Services): Feb 1995- May 1999
Group Head from April’98 responsible for a team of 6 sales executives and assistants
across 3 ITV stations: Anglia, Meridian and HTV.
Worked across many different agencies which included: Optimedia, MediaCom, CDP,
CIA, BBJ, Carat, TAP, P&G, Initiative….to name a few.
I have established strong relationships with many media buyers during my time at
TSMS and gained valuable experience in dealing with so many different agencies.
