Residential Latino Men’s Program Counselor, developing and implementing culturally
sensitive psycho-educational curriculum for Spanish-speaking men in residential treatment in
collaboration with program director, Alex, Babani, PsyD. Collaborated with clinical staff to
increase awareness of cultural issues in residential treatment.
Alcohol and Drug Counselor, in which I received weekly clinical supervision from Peter
Barber, LPC, MAC while facilitating outpatient and residential chemical dependency groups
in English and Spanish, conducting assessments using American Society of Addiction
Medicine Placement Criteria (ASAM-PCR-2) and making treatment placement decisions. In
this capacity I also collaboratively developed treatment plans, translated documents,
interpreted for Spanish-speaking patients and their families, performed random on-site
supervision for toxicity screening, made thorough clinical charting and provided complex
case management. I also developed skills in providing appropriate information to private and
managed health insurance companies to assist with billing while protecting client privacy and

healthy communication strategies in a stages-of-change based, dual-diagnosis residential
program. I also assisted in and led psycho-education groups, coordinated with the clinical

educational supports in the residential milieu. In this role I also participated in daily case-
