Business Continuity & Disaster Recovery Manager
• Worked for the Consulting and System Integration arm of BT (formerly Syntegra) on the NHS Spine,
London LSP & N3 projects. (This project is delivering a UK wide electronic patient system and is the
largest non-military IT project ever undertaken worldwide)
• Proved business continuity and disaster recovery functions, using the ITIL and BCI standards. (This
entailed being involved with the whole spectrum of Business Continuity on a unique project)
• Co-ordinated and ran the disaster recovery and resilience testing of the services (These needed to be
provided on a 24/7/365 basis. The testing involved many different third parties, both internal and
external)
3. • Writing and updating the Disaster Recovery Plans for the services and contribute to the Business
Continuity Plans for the individual areas. (This involved liaising with third party companies and
internal groups to obtain the high level of information required for such complex plans)
• Wrote and presented various presentations on Disaster Recovery and Business Continuity. (The
presentations were given to a number of varying areas, including other LSP providers)
• Part of a national Business Continuity Special Interest Group which is made up of representatives of
all the companies, including senior people from the NHS

• Involved with negotiations with DR suppliers to put replacement equipment and off-site storage

environmental point of view.

• Wrote the internal Business Continuity plan for Guardian

• Project Managed the internal systems upgrade to a Windows based database, using Oracle (this
involved the evaluation and recommendation of suitable packages, liasing with the suppliers,
overseeing the conversion of the database, implementation of the package across the companies pc
network and the writing and giving training to staff on the use of the system)
• Project managed the creation of Workplace Recovery areas. (including liaising with suppliers,
planning the layout of the work area and overseeing the contractors)

covered applications to support the majority of Local Authority departments)
• Supported, implemented and training of new systems (including developing and running training
