I am an open-minded individual with over 20 years of experience dealing with the public and customers
from various different industries. I now have the technical education, having just completed my degree in
Computer Systems in University of Limerick (2.1 Degree), to complement this experience. I am eager to
begin a new career in IT; a passion I have been waiting to express for years.

Cover a varied range of roles and responsibilities, such as attending design meetings, liaising with
colleagues, writing, developing, testing and reviewing code, supporting existing applications. Also, liaise
with end users to fix defects, find solutions and test them, investigate the feasibility of change requests, and
add the functionality to applications by designing and implementing solutions. Developing software using
SQL, Excel, VBA, UNIX, Web Apps Design, Java, Object Oriented Development, Data Access, Web
Programming (Java), Java Spring Framework.
Analog Devices
CAD/Software Engineer (Co-Op/Internship) June ‘l4 – Jan ’15
Part of a team of 8 Engineers involved in the design and overcoming design issues.
Learned and used Perl, for the first time, as a scripting language to interpret data.
Also used SQL and HTML to display the results in more understandable format.
Improved a set of test benches designed to cut the cost of using expensive licenses.
Converted some Perl scripts to Java and Groovy and visa verse to help program performance.
Migrated my team to using Eclipse as now their preferred IDE of choice.

Managed the family business in all aspects from accounts, ordering, entertainment, staffing, events and the
general day to day running of the business.
Often working 90 hours per week increased the turnover fivefold compared to the previous owner.
Today it is recognised as one of the most successful and enjoyable establishments in the locality.

Sales Executive June ‘ll – July ’12
Covering all Munster plus Wexford and Kilkenny calling Hardware and flooring shops.
My job entailed introducing new products to existing customers while trying to promote and increase the
existing range also. While all this time being on the lookout for new lucrative customers or possibly gain
space from competitors.
Increased the turnover of my area by 12% compared to the previous employee and opened 12 new accounts.

Sales Executive Oct ’04 – Jan ‘09
Covering all of Munster selling German Laminates and High-Quality Timber Flooring Dealing with retail
shops such as Hardware, Carpet, Furniture, and Tile Shops while calling on Architects, Interior Designers,
Building Contractors and the Self –build Market for a one-off sale.
Began with just 30 semi-active regular customers and increased that to over 100.
Increased turnover of my area from €150,000 to €1,000,000 per year.
Hobbies& Achievements
Previously treasurer of the local GAA Club for over 6 years.
Project Manager of the building of our local Sports and Community Hall costing over €1.5 million.
Secretary of local Festival in 2002 – 2005 raising over €150,000 for local charities.
Numerous All-Ireland and Munster medals in Hurling, Football, Rugby and Soccer.
Represented Tipperary in both hurling and football from U-16 to U-21.
Played Pierce Purcell and Bruin with my golf club, now playing off 10.
Final Year Project
Developed a fundraising website, using Java in the back-end and HTML and
JavaScript in the front-end whilst incorporating Spring and Hibernate workbenches,
using innovative sport related games for clubs and charities to make money.
Other Projects
Created an android mobile application to ensure the safety of drivers by switching the
phone into flight mode while driving. This was accomplished by using GPS
coordinates to track when the car is in motion and would reply to calls with an
automatic text message.
Developed a program a team to use a minimax algorithm to play the game Yavalath,
an abstract strategy game for two players aiming to make a straight line of 4 pieces of
the same colour. The program would have to evolve behavior to improve gameplay
over time.
Developed a Car Hire website to incorporated a MySQL database and use recognised
structural patterns such as The Interceptor Pattern, Decorator Pattern, Observer
Pattern, Strategy Pattern, and The Factory Pattern while maintaining an MVC
architectural framework
