Alistair has over 24 years experience of working in the electronic security industry, his particular area
of expertise relates to the design, installation and commissioning of CCTV systems in operational rail
and underground environments. He also has extensive experience and product knowledge of Access
Control, Fire Installations, PA/VA and Communications Systems.
Career Summary
Alistair joined Securicor Alarms in 1991 in the role of Intruder and
CCTV Surveyor. He left in 1994 to concentrate on major CCTV
projects, joining AVS Limited. His role as CCTV Surveyor involved
many rail sector projects across the Yorkshire area.
In 1996 Alistair joined Swift Security Systems Limited delivering CCTV,
Access Control and Fire Installation Systems with a project value of up
to £200k. Two years later he joined ADT Fire and Security in the role
of Systems Sales Manager but also with responsibility for the project
management of the installation. The maximum project value was now
£375k. 2000 saw Alistair joining Vicon as Northern Area Sales
Manager but he found his skills were better suited to dealing directly
with end users and in 2002 joined Euro telecom. His role was to
design CCTV and Access Control Equipment on worldwide projects.
He gained extensive major network system experience but
unfortunately the company went into receivership and Alistair became
self-employed before joining Technology Solutions Limited in 2003.
His role here was to establish a dedicated Rail Division particularly
focussing on CCTV, PA and Access Control but also delivering other
electronic security installations.
Alistair is approved by Network Rail in production of Form A and Form
B detailed design and CRE role in Retail Telecommunications, he has
a full understanding of NR standards. This includes concept design to
project completion including O & M production and SAT certification.
Design and procurement of large integrated security systems which
include National Grid, Design and a full understanding of Power fence,
perimeter protection, video analytics etc.
Design of perimeter security protection, recent project was an
aluminium plant in Saudi Arabia, Ras Al Khar. His responsibilities
extended to design check sign off.,Project Engineer of the installation
of a 17km high security fence that includes audible fence monitoring,
microwave detection and CCTV. Fibre optic networks for all security
disciplines .Contract Value $23m.
The most recent project was a multidiscipline telecoms project for
Network Rail as Contractors Responsible Engineer (CRE)
Total contract value in excess of £10m.
