Project I: Statistical Process Control On Assembly Line

5. In this project I used seven quality control tools to find out the
frequency of serious, major, minor defects in the assembly line of
Zenith. I calculated the UCL and LCL to find out what were the
main causes of the defects that were occurring through the use of
quality control tools & brainstorming. After the causes were
found suggestions were given so that the special causes can be
removed and also that they cannot reoccur. After few weeks of
implementation again the process control chart was made & it
was found that the process is in control.
Project II: Time and Motion Study & Cost Benefit Analysis at
Assembly Line
The main objective of the project was to do Time and Motion
Study on the assembly line and to do the cause and benefit
analysis of the assembly line and to tell the loss in manufacturing
to the company due to time loss & suggest ways to decrease the
loss. The data was taken & various statistical tools like
Histogram, Box plot, and Normal probability plot, Descriptive
statistics & I-MR chart was used to give inference about the data.
After inferring that the engineer were not on the right track I did
cause and benefit analysis in which I showed the monthly loss &
after that the yearly loss to the company against the ideal time.
After that brainstorming was done & major causes of loss were
found out and suggestions were given to control the loss. The
suggestions were implemented & profit was gained from the
results.
