Foreign Teacher in South Korea (2015-present): EPIK, Cheonsaeng Elementary School,
Gumi, South Korea. My responsibilities were to plan lessons, teach kindergarten, grade 4 & 6
English, manage after school clubs and holiday camps, follow a curriculum.
Foreign Teacher in China (2014-2015): English First, Tanggu, Tianjin, China
My responsibilities were to plan lessons, follow a curriculum, teach from 3yrs old to adult, large
classes, 1 to 1 classes and give presentations.
Health Care Assistant: NHS, Forensic Mental Health, Nottinghamshire, a Low Secure
Hospital, UK (January 2012 – May 2014).
Among my responsibilities I have to induct new staff and ask them to shadow me for the first
few weeks. I hold 1 to 1 sessions with patients where I help them with different problems.
Previously this has included issues in social situations and building confidence, as well as
learning to read and examining written work. In addition to 1 to 1 session I partake in running
group sessions with patients, such as problem solving. At times I work with those who have
learning disabilities, and need more guidance and supervision. In my job communication is
necessary and also having the ability to teach others, to be patient and considerate to others. This
has been by presentation or via emails or even telephone conversations. It depends on the size of
the audience.
International Student Mentor: Chinese student mentor, Coventry University (September 2010
– December 2011)
During my time at Coventry University I became a mentor for new students arriving from
China. In this role I helped students to become accustomed to the life in the UK by taking them
to various places, such as the cinema, coffee shops, British restaurants and day trips. I would also
hold small group sessions or 1 to1’s, which were used to study the language or help with current
University work. I would also use the internet or the telephone to provide help. I also provided
support through challenging situations, such as finance and getting a job. Working as a mentor
was very rewarding and I was able to gain an insight to the customs of China. I enjoyed getting
involved and partaking in their traditional activities.

Experience:
UNISON Branch Officer: Young Members (up to age 27) Branch Officer (August 2013 to
present)
As a branch officer it is my duty to speak to the younger members of the public about their rights
at work. I would talk to them about specific issues or as a group on a general scale. I would then
report this information to the relevant people, either within UNISON or work – related. I would
give presentations to students in classrooms on people’s rights at work and my experiences. Also
answer their questions and queries. I would attend conferences and seminars. I would write
reports and hold meetings on a routine basis. It is a role that I took great enjoyment out of and
was proud to represent young people.
Trainee Forensic Psychologist (June-Sept 2011): volunteering as a trainee psychologist I was
able to observe the day to day activities as a psychologist, ensuring that this was a path I wanted
to pursue. I was given the responsibility of completing HCR-20’s and providing input on
interventions being used on service users. I observed therapy sessions, personality tests and
community visits with social workers.

I am an experienced user of all forms of IT programmes, including Word, Excel, PowerPoint and
Office. I am also experienced in both Windows and Apple software. I have personally used
computers since I was of a young age, but have also gained an A level qualification in the
subject, which shows my aptitude for them.
