6. Provision of Accountancy and Reporting Support Services for REG and WASAC

The former Energy Water and Sanitation Authority (EWSA) Limited was separated in August 2014 into the
companies listed below and this separation was effected through a Prime Minister’s Order N°87/03 of 16/08/2014
Determining Modalities of Transfer of Responsibilities and Property of Energy, Water and Sanitation Authority
(EWSA):
a) Rwanda Energy Group (REG) which is comprised of two (2) subsidiaries:
• The Energy Development Corporation Ltd ( EDCL); and
• The Energy Utility Corporation Ltd (EUCL).
b) Water and Sanitation Corporation (WASAC).
The new companies were established and began operations by taking over from the former EWSA. REG group took
over energy section while EWSA took over water section. Each company established new organisation structure and
recruited staff.
During this assignment I was allocated to split account payable for former EWSA, I did this task with confidence
and I managed to get each and every portion of the new companies (i.e. EDCL, EUCL and WASAC). I did the
report related to the split of accounts payables.
I was also participated in the preparation of the financial statements for the period 30 June 2016 for three companies
and contributed some effort in the completion of other areas like banks, account receivables, assets and inventory.
In additional, I was one of the key team members during the asset separation of the former EWSA.

The audit was for the UNHCR project implemented by Plan International Rwanda. The project was for the
