How Hotels Can Use Social Media to Attract Event PlannersJulius Solaris
A presentation from a popular post I made on www.eventmanagererblog.com - you can access full notes here -> http://www.eventmanagerblog.com/marketing/hotels-social-media-meeting-planners
Social media has had a massive impact on events fundraising, both from a supporter and charity perspective. Many event participants use it as their primary route for asking for donations, so this shows how social media can help them raise more and get their sponsors involved, including data on which social media channels perform best. It also looks at how social media can support recruitment and supporter care from a charity’s point of view.

Cuckoo and I - IT Tallaght Advertising & Marketing - 28/04/14Mark Breen
I was asked to speak to a first year Advertising & Marketing class in IT Tallaght. They were interested in Cuckoo, how I got to where I am and my take on marketing and social media. I really enjoyed this one.
I love advertising and my own background is in marketing so it was fun speaking on something related to events but not solely events-specific.

Konrad Adenauer Stiftung Athen organised in mid-July a 4-day seminar for 20 Greek students on the Social Market Economy. On Saturday, July 11th I delivered a presentation on "The Greek contemporary entrepreneurial scene" before joining a few young startuppers and makers to discuss with the participants how to create and run your own venture. On the presentation I'm recording the roots of the greek startup ecosystem, its key players/organisations/VCs/initiatives, the biggest successes and failures the startup ecosystem of Greece, as well as the rise of entrepreneurship and startups in the national media discourse.
New change to a social platform? That’s no time to rethink your social media strategy; stick to your content strategy and all will be fine. Recenter yourself with the mantra “Make content more social”—an attempt to proactively create, host, and share more social stories. Moving horizontally rather than vertically through our social spaces allows for more seamless and integrated social experience, with an emphasis on telling our best story, aided by the tools we have at our disposal.

Madrid's xR festival keynote - immersive experiencesIan Forrester
Where do immersive technologies go? How will they allow more interaction with their users? We will discover it in a workshop in our auditorium with Ian Forrester, producer at the BBC.
This workshop will be given by Ian Forrester , producer for the R & D area of the BBC. It will offer an overview of the future of immersive technologies and how they will allow greater interaction with their users.
Through the project ' Perceptive podcast Project' , Forrester will explain how the internet of things will revolutionize both the content and the services of an international company such as BBC. It will explain to us how these perceptual technologies analyze in real time through sensors and user data the reaction to content and how they coexist with the necessary protection of each other's privacy. It will also detail the research on the ' Living Room of the Future ' project, to understand the impact that the living room of the future can have with its hyper-personalized contents and its multisensory surfaces from the wall to the dining room table.

In the Adani-Hindenburg case, what is SEBI investigating.pptxAdani case
Adani SEBI investigation revealed that the latter had sought information from five foreign jurisdictions concerning the holdings of the firm’s foreign portfolio investors (FPIs) in relation to the alleged violations of the MPS Regulations. Nevertheless, the economic interest of the twelve FPIs based in tax haven jurisdictions still needs to be determined. The Adani Group firms classed these FPIs as public shareholders. According to Hindenburg, FPIs were used to get around regulatory standards.

Understanding User Needs and Satisfying ThemAggregage
https://www.productmanagementtoday.com/frs/26903918/understanding-user-needs-and-satisfying-them
We know we want to create products which our customers find to be valuable. Whether we label it as customer-centric or product-led depends on how long we've been doing product management. There are three challenges we face when doing this. The obvious challenge is figuring out what our users need; the non-obvious challenges are in creating a shared understanding of those needs and in sensing if what we're doing is meeting those needs.
In this webinar, we won't focus on the research methods for discovering user-needs. We will focus on synthesis of the needs we discover, communication and alignment tools, and how we operationalize addressing those needs.
Industry expert Scott Sehlhorst will:
• Introduce a taxonomy for user goals with real world examples
• Present the Onion Diagram, a tool for contextualizing task-level goals
• Illustrate how customer journey maps capture activity-level and task-level goals
• Demonstrate the best approach to selection and prioritization of user-goals to address
• Highlight the crucial benchmarks, observable changes, in ensuring fulfillment of customer needs
Implicitly or explicitly all competing businesses employ a strategy to select a mix
of marketing resources. Formulating such competitive strategies fundamentally
involves recognizing relationships between elements of the marketing mix (e.g.,
price and product quality), as well as assessing competitive and market conditions
(i.e., industry structure in the language of economics).

Who has run events before? What kind of events? What were the challenges? What questions do you have? What would make your life easier?
START EARLY Roles & Schedule – split responsibility and keep track of progress with schedule20% Misc – include 20% miscellaneous as standardSupplier relationships – find people you TRUST. Make sure you’re getting good value & service, but make your life easy.Be different - Don’t be the typical students / student organisation who calls up suppliers with little firm idea of what you want / need etc. Review – the event isn’t done until you’ve had your comprehensive review
