Varsity
- Our biggest game of the season comes around every
April.
-‘Varsity’is when University of Gloucestershire play
Worcester University in a series of different sports.
- Varsity is played in front of hundreds of spectators
and hundreds more stream events online.
- In 2015 UoG won Cricket Varsity for the first time in
five years! The triumphant team is pictured top right.
- The victory was regarded as a‘David vs Goliath’type
upset. Worcester have a far bigger cricket club, in-
cluding three outdoor teams and scholarship players!
- The performance was so highly regarded that the
team won‘Performance of the Year’at the Students’
Union’s End of Year Sports Awards (right).
- We pipped to Women’s Rugby to the award, who had
made University history becoming the first UoG team
