This document outlines a climate smart market systems approach to encourage cooperation among agricultural value chain actors in Jamaica. The approach involves: 1) analyzing market systems and identifying climate smart agriculture solutions and constraints, 2) facilitating partnerships between producers, traders, input suppliers, and other stakeholders, and 3) co-designing market facilitation models such as input supplier driven, microentrepreneur driven, lender driven, and producer collective driven models to promote climate smart agriculture practices through improved business relationships. The overall goal is to help agricultural value chains in Jamaica adapt to climate change.
