A 12-year-old male patient presented with an anterior crossbite and irregular front teeth arrangement. Examination revealed a narrow upper arch, high palate, and deep bite. Treatment involved fabrication of a removable orthodontic appliance with a slow maxillary expansion screw and posterior bite plate. After 3 months of treatment, the crossbite was corrected and the maxillary arch was expanded, resolving the irregular front teeth alignment. Minor gingival recession present before treatment on the lower right central incisor would require future periodontal therapy.

4. • The patient was physically healthy and had no
history of relevant medical complications and dental
trauma.
• Patient gives history of tongue thrusting habit, with
duration, intensity and frequency nonspecified by
him and his parents.

5. Intra-oral examination
• Intraoral examination revealed patient in mixed
dentition stage with an Angle's class I molar
relationship bilaterally present.
• Clinical examination showed :
 anterior single tooth crossbite
 narrow upper arch
 high arched palate
 deep bite

8. TREATMENT PLANNING
• OPG and lateral cephalometric were advised.
• Upper and lower impression were recorded.
• Oral prophylaxis was done with ultrasonic method.
• A removable orthodontic appliance with slow
maxillary expansion screw along with a posterior
bite plate was planned for the correction of crossbite.

15. • Patient was advised to maintain proper oral
hygiene habits, and was recalled after three
months for follow up.
• At the completion of treatment , gingival recession
present i.r.t lower right central incisor(41); which
was observed at the pre-treatment phase can be
recontoured in future with the help of periodontal
therapy.
