The document discusses whether the time of Christ's return can be known by comparing biblical passages on the issue. Some passages indicate that no one knows the exact time, while others suggest that signs will make his return clear to those who are prepared. It notes that God's will is ultimately accomplished even if central figures fail, as seen in patterns from Jewish history and the restoration process.
The document discusses Jesus' crucifixion according to the Gospels of Mark and Matthew. It describes how Jesus was betrayed by Judas, arrested, and brought before the high priest and Pontius Pilate. Though found innocent, he was sentenced to death by crucifixion due to the urging of the high priests who were envious of him. While on the cross, Jesus endured great physical suffering and cried out feeling abandoned by God. With his final words "It is finished," he gave up his spirit, and with his death the veil of the temple was torn signifying access to God.

God created mankind for an incredible purpose - to ultimately rule over the entire universe as members of the God Family. Originally, God intended angels to have dominion over the earth and finish creating the rest of the universe. However, when some angels rebelled, God decided to create humans to take their place. The earth now serves as a training ground where humans can develop godly character through life experiences and ultimately be born into the God Family. Jesus Christ came to replace Satan and qualify to restore God's government on earth and oversee finishing the creation of the universe. God is reproducing himself through humans who will help rule the universe as divine members of His Family.

Luke 24:1-6 esus' vindication involves the exercise of God's power bringing him to life in a new, glorified state. After the discovery of the empty tomb (vv. 1-12), Luke narrates the conversation with the Emmaus-bound disciples, an account unique to him (vv. 13-35). Then follows the Gospel's closing scene, where Jesus visits the disciples (vv. 36-53). This final visit also is unique to Luke. Here Jesus appears to them (vv. 36-43) before giving them final instructions and departing (vv. 44-53).
A key feature of this section is the note of surprise among the disciples that Jesus is raised
The document discusses why people refuse to believe in Jesus and the essential components of the gospel message. It explains that people refuse to believe because their hearts are sinful and they love darkness rather than light. It then outlines the gospel as: 1) Humans are sinful and spiritually dead, deserving God's wrath. 2) Jesus lived a perfect life, died on the cross to pay for sins, and rose again. 3) To be saved, one must repent of sins and place faith in Jesus. The gospel brings forgiveness and restores a right relationship with God.
The document discusses the cross of Christ and its significance for salvation. It explains that through Christ's death on the cross, all of humanity died with Him as our representative, freeing us from the condemnation of sin and the power of sin. Believers must accept that they died with Christ on the cross in order to be made alive in Him and empowered to live holy lives. The cross is how God solved the problem of how an innocent person could die for the guilty, through Christ becoming our substitute and taking our place under the condemnation of sin.
The Roman Catholic Church
This denomination is a traditional group of Christians who believe in Natural Law: doing what God intended in a natural way. Up until the C16th Catholics were the dominant group of Christians in Europe. Catholics are controlled by the Pope in Rome
Protestant Churches
These are the Christian groups that developed after Martin Luther’s debate in 1517.
These are modern Christians who have re-interpreted the Bible and have a different view to the Roman Catholics.
These Christians are NOT controlled by the Pope.
Many people have wondered what God might be like. Christians believe that he has certain attributes that define him.
Adam and Eve were created by God and placed in the garden of Eden. They had everything they wanted. But one day a serpent appeared and asked Eve to get him some fruit. He asked for fruit from the tree of knowledge of good and evil. This was the one tree whose fruit they couldn’t eat. Eve took the fruit and ate some herself. Seeing that nothing bad had happened she took the fruit to Adam to eat and he did. God knew of their disobedience and punished them for their actions. It is due to them that nature is out of balance with humanity and evil exists in the world. Had Adam and Eve obeyed God, evil would not exist
Lucifer was an angel in Heaven with God and all the other angels. However, he was not happy with his situation; he was jealous of God’s power. Lucifer challenged God, but God is omnipotent and easily defeated Lucifer, casting him out of Heaven into Hell below. Since then, Lucifer, or Satan, has worked to get revenge on God. He does this through causing pain and suffering to what God loves best: humans
Although millions of people believe in God there are still plenty of people who argue that God cannot exist if evil does: they are a contradiction
The Problem of Evil and Suffering
If God is omnipotent and omnibenevolent then how can evil exist?
If God is loving he would want to stop evil
If God was powerful he would be able to stop evil
So why doesn’t he?!
There are a number of responses to this question, some religious and some not
This document describes the 14 Stations of the Cross located inside the Church of the Holy Sepulchre in Jerusalem. It outlines each station, from Jesus being condemned to death to being laid in the tomb, and notes that photos in the document are the author's own and from the internet. God's tenderness is compared to rain in three ways:
1) Rain is gentle and soft, displaying God's happiness or "tears of joy" during joyous occasions like births or conversions.
2) Just as rain nourishes and tends to plants' needs, God is like a gardener who makes all plants healthy.
3) Rain provides life to plants on Earth, and God's power of giving new life is similar to the life-giving power of rain.
Understanding Apostolic Covering and Prophetic StreamsButch Yulo
This document discusses the biblical concepts of apostolic covering and prophetic streams. It begins by reviewing that prophets are needed from the Old Testament through the New Testament. The objectives are to understand God's structure for the church, the roles of apostles and prophets, and prophetic streams. It cites Joel 2:28 and 1 Corinthians 14 to show that God will pour out His Spirit and people will prophesy. It then explores how God designed order and structure for the church through spiritual gifts. Apostles are mentioned as the foundational gift and prophets are also included. The document asserts that apostles and prophets are still active today based on Ephesians 4 and the ascension gifts of Christ. It provides biblical evidence

The document discusses key aspects of biblical church planting according to JD Payne. It defines church planting as evangelism that results in new churches. Church planting involves sowers, seed, soil, and the Spirit. New believers are to imitate the example of church planters. While difficult, church planting in the Bible was not complex, involving making disciples through preaching, baptizing, and teaching them to obey Christ's commands. The establishment of the church in Thessalonica involved Paul preaching Christ crucified and risen, with some Jews and Greeks believing and imitating the examples of Paul, Silas, and the Lord.
Foundation Stone #07: Laying On Hands to BlessRick Bruderick
The document provides answers to 10 questions about laying on of hands based on biblical passages. It discusses how Jesus used laying on of hands to bless and heal people. It notes that from ancient times, God has passed on blessings and commissioned leaders through priests laying hands on them. Christians are commissioned and sent out by elders laying hands on them. The hands of Jesus are special because He will bless with love and power, His hands were pierced for us, and He has all power. God formed people with His hands and is the Potter while humans are the clay. God's hands have done many things from creating earth to circumcising hearts in baptism. Hands should be used in worship to lift in praise, spread in prayer, and
1) The document provides an overview and analysis of key passages in Deuteronomy 6, including the Shema (verses 4-9) and Jesus' references to the chapter when being tempted.
2) It examines Moses' instruction to love God completely and obey his commandments, explaining that righteousness in the Old Testament came from faith, not works.
3) Salvation has always been based on faith, whether in God's promises to Abraham or the coming Messiah, and the purpose of the Law was to point to Christ for righteousness.
This document provides a summary of a sermon given on Deuteronomy 6:1-25. The sermon focused on the greatest commandment to love God with all your heart, as well as other key passages in Deuteronomy that Jesus quoted when being tempted. This document provides an overview of how God's plan from the beginning has been to bless all nations and peoples through Abraham and his descendants. It discusses:
1) How God revealed His purpose to bless all nations through key events and people in the Old Testament like the Tower of Babel, Abraham's call, and the prophets.
2) How Abraham and Israel were meant to be a blessing to the gentiles but often became self-absorbed instead of reaching out.
3) How Jesus and the New Testament church fulfilled God's plan to bless all nations through the gospel.
THIS MESSAGE SPEAKS ABOUT RIGHTEOUSNESS BY FAITH, THE ATONEMENT, THE SABBATH, THE STATE OF THE DEAD, ETC...THIS ALL HAVE TO DO WITH PRESENT TRUTH MESSAGES WITH REGARD TO THE SANCTUARY, AND WHAT'S TAKING PLACE IN HEAVEN WITH CHRIST BEING OUR HIGH PRIEST.
The document discusses the spiritual gift of teaching. It provides several Bible passages about teaching, including Acts describing Apollos who taught diligently from the scriptures. Romans and 1 Corinthians discuss how God gives different gifts, including teaching. The lesson notes that teachers in the Bible taught people about the gospel in the churches. It also notes a disagreement with viewing teachers and ministers as the same, arguing teachers specifically teach in places like Sunday school, while ministers have a different role. The document closes with a prayer asking God to help Christians learn and become better through understanding spiritual gifts like teaching.
Thunder and Angels: Preaching Between Two Gospelsklewis001
The document provides an overview of Gospel readings and themes for Lent, comparing the Gospels of Mark, Matthew, Luke and John. It examines the different portrayals of Jesus, including an immediacy in Mark versus reflection in John. Major events like the temptation of Jesus, transfiguration, and crucifixion are discussed. The document also explores the kingdom of God and Jesus' acts of serving others.
The document discusses the sanctuary message and the three angels' messages from Revelation. It examines the symbolism of the seven churches and their relationship to the history of the church. A key point is that Jesus entered the most holy place of the heavenly sanctuary in 1844 to begin the judgment, as foreshadowed in the earthly sanctuary services. This judgment will determine who will be saved and lost as represented by the churches of Philadelphia and the synagogue of Satan.

1. The document outlines a field trip for a church mission session, including visits to CedarCreek Church and St. George Orthodox Cathedral on June 6th.
2. For those unable to attend, an alternative assignment is provided - attend another church's worship service and write a 2-3 page review comparing the experience to their own church.
3. Biblical foundations of God's mission are discussed, showing how mission is central to both the Old and New Testaments. God's call to Abraham established Israel as a missionary nation meant to bless all peoples.
This document discusses the biblical concept of diakonia, which refers to service or ministry. It examines the Greek words diakonos, diakonia, and diakoneo, which are commonly translated as "service" or "minister". The document analyzes how these terms are used in various Bible passages, particularly in reference to the early church distributing food and assistance to widows. It explores what functions the men described as diakonos served, and how this was different from the roles of the 12 apostles. The overall purpose seems to be discussing the biblical foundations and meanings of service, ministry and the office of deacon within the early Christian community.
God has revealed Himself through three books: nature, the sanctuary service, and the Bible. The sanctuary service, found in the Old Testament, prefigured Jesus' ministry in the heavenly sanctuary and provided a way for people to understand prophecy and the plan of salvation. On the Day of Atonement in 1844, Jesus entered the Most Holy Place of the heavenly sanctuary to begin the final cleansing of sins, as foretold in Daniel 8:14.
This document discusses the symbolism of the church of Laodicea representing the spiritual condition of God's people from 1844 to the close of probation. It describes Laodicea as being under judgment due to being lukewarm, self-satisfied, and in need of spiritual revival. Key points include that judgment occurred only in the most holy place of the heavenly sanctuary, and that the restoration of God's sanctuary and people coincides with the cleansing of sin and restoration to Christ's image. It calls God's people to open their hearts to Christ's invitation to buy from Him the gold of faith, white raiment of righteousness, and eyesalve of spiritual discernment.
