The preliminary task allowed the students to practice their filming and editing skills by creating a short creative clip with various shot types. They storyboarded initial ideas and chose one idea to develop further, incorporating elements from multiple pitches. After refining the idea based on peer feedback, they further improved the idea based on feedback from the class to make it more appealing to their target audience.

2. Preliminary Task
• The main purpose of our preliminary task was to
put into action all of the skills we had learned to
do with using the technology such as the camera,
and to practice the types of shots, and continuity
editing.
• For this, we created a very rough storyboard,
which contained all of our initial ideas. The actual
story was not important, but we wanted to be
creative in order to get as many different types of
shot as possible into such a short clip.

3. Thriller opening
• We all sat in a room and each pitched our ideas
to each other, and we each gave each other
constructive criticism. In the end we all agreed on
one idea, which we felt was better than all of our
initial ideas as in incorporated the best parts of all
of them.
• we pitched this to the class and based upon the
feedback we improved it even more, making it
more attractive to our target audience
