This literature review will focus on the scope of college student s whom have a job while going to
school full time versus college students who do not have a job and the effects on their academic
success. It will identify the contributing factors dealing with Seton Hall University student s
academics. In addition this literature review will identify the possible solutions dealing with academic
success based on research pertaining to college student s positive outcomes. The time period that will

Although students who work and do not work experience there stress levels differently and according
to the study more working college students experience more of a stress level then non working
students but the most interesting finding in this study is that working college students have a higher
grade point then the non working students (p.384). Suggestions as to why that were presented in the
article is that students who work and go to school full time have the ability to manage their time more
wisely then those who do not work (p.396 387). This data is again represented in another study that
was produced by Lang (2012) which clarifies that college students who work maintain a higher grade
point average then students who do not work (p.250). Another aspect that Lang s experiment clarifies
that more working students spend more time one their studies and working then they do with their
social lives (p.250). This is because students learn how to priorities and in order to priorities they have
to give up something in this case it is their social life. Learning how to prioritize students gain the
ability to develop time management skills that the can use in order to complete the task that they need

3. The Advantages of E-Textbooks Essays
Imagine a day when youngsters would leave for school carrying nothing more than an electronic
device weighing less than one pound. The advent and growing popularity of electronic textbooks may
make this a reality sooner rather than later. No more students trudging around with 20 pound
backpacks strapped to their backs. No more lockers jammed with textbooks and notebooks. The
benefits of transitioning to e textbooks are many and provide advantages for both students and
educators. Electronic textbooks can be updated faster than traditional textbooks and can also provide
resources that traditional books cannot supply. Because reprinting textbooks is expensive, they are

Emoticons are used in text messages and emails. Given how the use of such graphics has permeated
everyday functions in our society, up and coming generations will feel more comfortable if
educational institutions utilize such devices for classroom work. Electronic textbooks also provide
resources that traditional texts cannot offer. For example, some e books include videos or motion
graphics to illustrate concepts. Interactive applications are also utilized to help with studying and test
preparation. Many educators are embracing the use of electronic textbooks for a variety of reasons.
Ken White, an instructor at Everett Community College, points out that some older students may have
a hard time transitioning to e textbooks but younger generations of students will be much more
successful at making the conversion (Moving towards virtual textbooks). The trend seems to be that
electronic devices of all sorts are becoming more and more popular. As these devices continue to
permeate our culture, integrating them as soon and as frequently as possible into the classroom will
help students adjust to using them now and in the future. White even uses the new textbook format
because, [Electronic textbooks] make me really look at my teaching (Moving towards virtual

method, he will be able to approach his subject from a different angle that might be more

Wi Fi, also known as wireless fidelity is a wireless technology based on the 802.11 network. Wi Fi is
an excellent technology that makes it possible for computers and personal digital assistants (PDA s) to
connect to the internet wirelessly. This technology makes it possible for users to access data online
whenever they are near an access point, which is commonly referred to as a hotspot . While there are
both advantages and disadvantages of Wi Fi technology, I believe that the advantages outweigh the
disadvantages and that Wi Fi will get better, faster, and more secure in time. During the late 90 s the
802.11 network was released for wireless local area networks (WLAN s). This wireless network

Identity theft is huge and a lot of hotspot locations are vulnerable to attacks. As security gets better,
hackers too learn new and faster methods to hack hotspot connections to gain users valuable
information. T Mobile and AT T, the largest providers of Wi Fi hot spots in coffee shops, bookstores
and airports, don t require encryption of data traveling wirelessly between laptops and the Internet.
Neither do hotels and municipalities with free Wi Fi hookups in public areas. If you re using Wi Fi in a
public place and you re not getting hacked, it s only because there s nobody around bothering to do it,
says Robert Graham, CEO of consultancy Errata Security (Acohido, 2007). Wi Fi users need to be
aware of both pros and cons. While users aren t limited to location as they are with cables connecting
them, they are limited when it comes to securing their connection at a hotspot. Users need to be aware
of this and take advantage of the information that s out there so they can help protect personal
information from getting into the wrong hands. Wi Fi has come along way since the late 90 s, and as
long as users stay aware of both the good and bad that come with this technology, hotspots will
continue to expand over the globe.

5. The Subculture Of Board Game
People have always develop ways to pass time or enjoy their everyday activates. There have been
puzzles, books, and television invented to help with this process. The need to have something to do
has fueled the creation of games. The most popular games today are videogames which have millions
of people logging on each day to play with others. Videogames have created a culture of their own, but
they were not the original type of gaming recreation. Board games have been bringing their played
into fantasy worlds long before the popularization of videogames. This has spark my interest to
understand the subculture of board game players in today s society. I have selected a local board
gaming site to conduct my field research for my ethnographic study. My primary location or this
research will be at Tucson Games and Gadgets where I will try to minimize any preconceptions I may
currently have, and utilize key informants to get an overall picture of the culture. First I had to choose
the best location from various gaming locations in the Tucson area.
Tucson Games and Gadgets was clearly the most viable option to choose after I had visited the
location first hand. This location was conveniently located in the heart of Tucson which gives me great
ease of access almost on a daily basis. When first arriving at this location I noticed that the parking lot

6. Michelangelo, A Biography Essay
Michelangelo Buonarroti was born on March 6, 1475. He lived almost a full century and died on
February 18, 1564; he was still working six days before his death. During his life, the western world
underwent what was perhaps the most remarkable period of change since the decline of the Roman
Empire. The Renaissance saw changes in all aspects of life and culture, with dramatic reforms
sweeping through the worlds of religion, politics, and scientific belief. Michelangelo was one of the
advocates of this new philosophy, while creating some of the most beautiful and very famous artwork
pieces ever created.

Other influences on his young mind included two members of the church: one was his local priest and
the other was an opinionated monk named Fra Girolamo Savonarola.
Michelangelo first heard Savonarola preach in 1492, the year in which his first patron, Lorenzo de
Medici, died and Michelangelo returned to his father s home. The monk s sermons and his subsequent
violent death had a lifelong effect on the artist and many of his works; the loss of Lorenzo also deeply
affected his artistic consciousness.
At the age of 21, he made his first trip to Rome, a city that was both to play a prominent part in his life
and create many frustrations for him. This time he spent five years in the city, creating some of his
best known works. In 1496 97, he completed his first important commission, Bacchus. ( Martindale

7. Characteristics Of Ancient Civilizations
Were ancient cultures actually considered civilizations? Four of the most important ancient
civilizations were Mesopotamia, ancient Egypt, ancient India, and ancient China. In order to be
considered a civilization a culture must have seven different characteristics. These seven
characteristics of a civilization are writing system, social classes, organized government, public works,
arts and architecture, job specialization, and complex religions.
Mesopotamia was a region in the fertile crescent that was located within the Tigris Euphrates river
system. In modern day geography it is roughly located in Iraq, the eastern parts of Syria, and
Southeastern Turkey. First, mesopotamia used a writing system known as cuneiform. This writing

works consisted of dikes, dams, city walls, warehouses, canals and ziggurats. Canals were one of the
most important public works because they were built to bring water to the cropping fields. Fifth, arts
and architecture definitely existed in Mesopotamia. For example, the Hanging Gardens, one of the
seven wonders of the ancient world, is located in Mesopotamia. The people of Mesopotamia also built
ziggurats and made elaborate designs on their pottery. Sixth, job specialization was very important in
Mesopotamia since not one person could master all the skills. Some of the many jobs in Mesopotamia
are farmers, weavers, potters, scribes, astronomers, and musicians. Scribes were very important since
they were the only people the knew how to write. Finally, Mesopotamia did have a complex religion.
They had a polytheistic belief which means that the people of Mesopotamia believed in many gods.
They also believed that the gods were associated with and controlled various forces of nature.
Whenever a bad thing happened, such as a flood, the Mesopotamians believed that they were getting
punished. Overall, it can be concluded that mesopotamia was a civilization.

Republican. Each of these parties has different views and where they stand on healthcare, national
defense/security, and economy. Healthcare is a fundamental right that I believe every citizen of the

11. Obstructive Sleep Apnea
Obstructive sleep apnea (OSA) is when someone is experiencing episodes of cessation of breaths
during sleep because of their upper airway relaxing and obstructing air flow during sleep. The
episodes usually last for ten seconds or greater and is usually accompanied with a decreased oxygen
saturation. Although the airway is relaxed and obstructing airflow, the body (brain) is still attempting
to breathe. When breathing has resumed from its apneic state, there is usually a loud gasping snore
and or body jerking which can lead to restless sleep for the person with OSA and their partner.
According the National Heart Lung and Blood Institute more than twelve million people in the United
States have this clinical disorder. People who have OSA may be sleepy in the day and experience
subsequent disorders such as oxyhemoglobin desaturation, pulmonary hypertension, right sided heart
failure, arrhythmias, myocardial infarction and diabetes. Proper diagnosing and treatment of a person
with OSA can yield optimal results thereby improving quality of life.
Some causes or risk factors of Obstructive Sleep Apnea are being overweight or obese, having a large
neck, having a narrow airway, high blood pressure, diabetes, being middle aged, and having a genetic
predisposition. Patients with OSA seem to have high cholesterol with an increase in LDL s and a
decrease in HDL s (good cholesterol (Nadeem R, 2014). Intermittent sleep or sleep deprivation causes

12. Application Of An Operating System Security
Abstract
This paper presents a description of an operating system security design that addresses the need for
flexibility to control dissemination of usage rights, administration of fine grained rights, and validates
the reversal of prior access rights. The system that can handle this enormous task is the Flux Advanced
Security Kernel (Flask) microkernel based operating system architecture, according to research
conducted by the National Security Agency (NSA) and researchers at the University of Utah. Based
on the results of testing and observations, the Flask architecture prototype is flexible to operate and

There is a wide range of computing environments and products that support these environments, with
each one having distinctive security needs. Computing systems must have the flexibility to support
many diverse types of security operating systems. This is the crux of the problem that has facilitated
research into finding a system that is multi faceted and able to provide fine grained controls
identifying who has access to which levels of data, determine which users have permission to
information based on policies and procedures, and revoke access rights that had been established
previously. The Flask model prototype has proven to meet the needs for an operating system that
contains policy flexibility. It has a security policy server capable of making determinations about who
has access and to what extent. Moreover, the Flask security system is able to split mechanism and
policy with a fuller set of safety measures to be maintained with diminished requirements for policy
specific modifications. The Flask architecture cleanly separates the definition of the policy logic from
the enforcement mechanism. The security policy logic is encapsulated within a separate component of
the operating system with well defined interfaces for obtaining security policy decisions. This separate
component is referred to as the security

The Cherry Orchard The Misunderstood Comedy When the first production of The Cherry Orchard
was performed on stage in Moscow, there was a significant difference of opinion between the author
and directors. Chekhov strongly faulted the directors interpretation that the play should be preformed
as a tragedy and insisted that what he had written was a comedy. The famous philosopher Aristotle
defined a comedy as quot;an imitation of characters of a lower type who are not bad in themselves but
whose faults possess something ludicrous in them. quot; The misinterpretation of The Cherry Orchard
could be mainly due to a misunderstanding of the comic character. A quot;comic quot; character is

It is this that forms the ludicrous or comic essence of Lyubov s character. True, Lyubov s character
does have her tragic moments. At the end of act four, Ania refers to her mother as to having been

actions do not show it. The main theme of the play can be generally taken to be the passing of the old
order of Russian society, symbolized by the sale of the cherry orchard. Since Chekhov did not belong
to the ranks of the Ranevsky family, unlike other authors who had written plays on the same theme,
Chekhov wrote The Cherry Orchard without becoming personally involved. He was able to see the the

MRI Specialists use Scans to Investigate Knee Problems
When a patient is suffering with knee problems and/or pain, a Magnetic Resonance Imaging (MRI)

Following the procedure, MRI Specialists use the images obtained to investigate the source of
potential knee problems and conditions.
Incidence of Bone Bruises with Tears to the Meniscus and Ligaments
A bone bruise is one of the occult osseous knee injuries that can cause constant pain, as well as
functional loss. An MRI is necessary to identify a bone bruise because these bruises are not visible
through a traditional radiograph. For this reason, MRIs are used to diagnose and then follow bone

What are nitrogen oxides?
Nitrogen oxides are a group of gases that are composed of nitrogen and oxygen. Two of the most
common nitrogen oxides are nitric oxide and nitrogen dioxide. The chemical formula for nitric oxide
is NO; for nitrogen dioxide, it is NO2. Nitrous oxide, N2O, is a greenhouse gas that contributes to
climate change.
Nitric oxide is a gas with a sharp, sweet smell; it is colorless to brown at room temperature. Nitrogen
dioxide is a colorless to brown liquid at room temperature, with a strong, harsh odor. It becomes a
reddish brown gas at temperatures above 70 degrees F.
Nitrogen oxides are released into the air from motor vehicle exhaust or the burning of coal, oil, diesel
fuel, and natural gas, especially from electric power plants. They are also released during industrial
processes such as ... Show more content on Helpwriting.net ...

I listen to music everyday and I couldn t imagine going a day without it. This is because listening to
music is necessary for me. I listen to music when I am bored, walking to class, at a party, going
through different emotions, or basically doing anything. If you turn on your tv anything you watch has
background music, we even have music in elevators, which is proving the point that humans need
music. Sue Devine writes in an article that Whether we re aware of it or not, sound and music is a
primary hidden actor in our world I think that is because it changes your mood, or fixes an awkward
silence. Music is always there triggering memories and emotions, and changing our mood in an

behind a hilarious video of him singing the song at the top of his lungs. Or if I were to hear Fight The

17. The Importance Of Weather In Literature
Angelina Blackwell
AP Literature and Composition
Mrs. Smith
9/20/17
Weather can influence many things in literature. It can influence the mood, plot, characters, setting.
Foster makes it very clear to us that an author will never put weather into a story with no reasoning
behind it. Weather is not just simply a setting in literature.
The author begins the chapter It s More Than Just Rain or Snow by explaining what mood the quote It
was a dark and stormy night creates. He explains how weather is never placed in a story for no reason.
Weather is a factor used to create a mood in the passage. A sunny day with no clouds in sight... will
create a happy mood while the reader could be imagining themselves in the story being outside on a
beautiful clear day with the sunshine hitting them just right. That could put anyone in a cheerful mood,
right? If the author started a story with The rain was beating down on the roof as I realized it had been
my first night without him... . Now obviously if the character had just lost someone they would be sad
but adding rain to the scene adds the effect of sadness and allows the reader jump in the book to feel
what the character is feeling.
When meeting characters in the beginning of novels, the author can add how they perceive weather to
let the readers get a feel for how observing they are. If the character pays no mind to the weather the
reader may see that had acted as ignorant.
Chapter 10 elaborates on how weather can

Ehrenreich discusses how the employers manage to disclose any information of pay to applicants
during interviews in this way: I have mentioned the way the hiring process seems designed, in some
cases, to prevent any discussion or even disclosure of wage whisking the applicant from interview to
orientation before the crass subject of money can be raised. Some employers go further; instead of
relying on the informal money taboo to keep workers from discussing and comparing wages, they
specifically enjoin workers from doing so. (207) Ehrenreich uses a dash instead of a comma or a
colon. Dashes aren t as formal as colons but provide more emphasis than commas. She could have
ended the sentence where the dash began but she decided to include the part where applicants are
rushed into orientation before the talk of pay comes up. This dash made everything stop short. The
author connects these two together to create more emphasis on the crooked hiring process. It shows
that she felt it necessary to bring the actual process to surface because it is often hidden. The true
intentions of employers had to be exposed to show that many workers go into work blind of their
actual pay. It reveals how unfair it is for applicants. It felt as though the author was suddenly stopped

will result in a report that will elaborate on their recommendations. Currently, the task force is
conducting focus groups of Executive Cabinet and of student body members on the proposed changes.
The task force will present their recommendations to Student Senate at the beginning of the Spring
2018 semester. I have copied a brief progress report from the task force chairperson, Matthew Good,
below:
The SGA worked with Director of Student Activities Engagement, Ethan Feuer, to discuss adding all
undergraduate students to the SGA portal on MyUMW. We have successfully added all current
undergraduate students SGA portal on MyUMW. From this point onward, SAE will work with the
SGA to add all the current undergraduate students to the portal each semester to keep membership
accurate.
Using our new communication abilities on the SGA Portal through MyUMW, the SGA was able to
conduct a survey to students regarding President Paino s draft of An Investment of Hope for the
Future: A Strategic Vision for the University of Mary Washington. We received a total of 86
submissions that contained feedback about the proposed vision. Overall, the feedback about the main
goals was positive. I have attached a formal report about the survey at the

Werewolves, mostly creatures of the night, hunt, feed, and survive like other animals. Werewolves are
Mythical creatures, but there have been many sighting by ordinary people. Werewolves have remained
a mystery for a long time. Several theories accumulated over the years on the topic of werewolves.
There were Stories about men who shape shift during a full moon, a man wolf hybrid, their possible
connection to the legend of the Navajo Skinwalkers, and the side effect of a fungus called Ergot. It
was near the end of the 16th century in the town of Bedburg, farmers were chasing a beast who was

23. The Effect Of The Mafia On Italy s Economy
The ability of the citizens of a country to become entrepreneurs and stimulate the economy by starting
up companies is essential for the success of a country. There are many variables that can have a
negative effect on an economy and one that is currently hurting Italy s economy is the mafia. An
indirect side effect of the mafia s impact on the Gross domestic Profit is the government s ability to
aid small business growth. Thus, the government must spend more money to help businesses to
manifest and to put Italy in the best situation to have a raging national economy. Gross Domestic
Profit stands for the measure of a nation s total economic activity. In more relative terms, Gross

First of all, there are different types of Italian mafias, depending upon which region that they are
located in and the market that they are exploiting. Italian organized crime is known all over the world,
to the point that the term Mafia is now understood across the globe as referring to the organized
criminal underworld. Literature on the subject is abundant, ranging from history, sociology and
criminology to fiction and plain entertainment. The distinctive character, looks, habits, idiosyncrasies
and jargon of the Mafiosi have been described, analyzed, explained and imitated. Apparently,
everybody is familiar with Italian organized crime (Europol 4). The top three mafia organizations
operating in Italy are Cosa Nostra, La Camorra and the Ndrangheta. Cosa Nostra is located on the
island of Sicily as the Mafiosi s main activity consists of their forced protection and they have strong
ties to Sicily s government. La Camorra is located in the region of Campania, but more specifically in
the capital: Napoli. La Camorra s main focus is controlling the food and coffee markets, black market,
as well as some drug trafficking. The Camorra clan, in turn, acquired from this relationship (1)
considerable economic resources from the firms (2) the consequent systematic control of economic
activity in the territorial area, the possibility of furnishing jobs and a marginal quota of the firm s
income, and hence widespread social consensus and even open legitimacy; (3) finally, through the
politicians, they secured the necessary institutional cover, in particular with the police and with
possible intervention in eventual judicial proceedings. This original relationship between the Camorra
and illegal non organized activities has not fundamentally changed over time, but has become stronger
and deeper as a result of two factors. (1) The omertà of its victims who do not denounce extortion for
fear of reprisal, but also not to bring

involves having many vocal and motor tics. An individual is most likely to have it if the tics last
consistently for more than a year. (Berlin, 3, 1995). Several people have either motor tics or only vocal

25. Telecommuting Suggestion Report
The first course of action this tech firm should take is to create a productivity report to analyze the
current state of the company s workforce. It was mentioned that the organization already has fifty
employees telecommuting. However, the head executives have yet to make a formalized plan. This
was a large oversight that could have potentially caused a lot of tension between the two groups of
employees. Although guidelines should have been created before telecommuting began, it will help
show any differences between the two groups in the productivity report. A suggestion for how the
report should be created and implemented would be to weigh whatever task is most important for each
job and compare the performance between onsite and telecommuting staff members. Having this
information will help determine if the company should even allowing working off site all together.
Unfortunately, the prompt did not specify how well telecommuting had been working for the firm
before asking for suggestions. Hypothetically we will say that the percentage of productivity for off
site workers was equally as high as on site. A company would have a difficult time if everyone
telecommutes, however, it would be wise to allow some flexibility in work schedules. The tech firm
could include temporary off site work as well. For example, allowing an employee with a cold to work
at home or if a deadline is pressing and a staff member works better at home. If the company
executives decide to allow a

No longer a student, but reluctant to return to the Potteries, and what Vyse described as its stifling
artistic environment. He would stay in London and become a fine art sculptor. This was a brave
decision by Vyse. The position of a modeller was open for Vyse at the Doulton Art Studio, Burslem.
Emphatic in his rejection, for him modelling in Burslem was out of the question. Vyse liked to boast
that he had once studied with his friend Septimus Bennett, the younger brother of author Arnold
Bennett. Later, Vyse would say about him scathingly, Septimus went back to work in the Potteries, not
me, I stuck it out in London. Not having a studio of his own, this period of his career proved to be
hard one for Vyse. He found some work as a freelance sculptor, and eventually he found working

In 1911, Vyse aged twenty nine, submitted three works to the Royal Academy, the maximum number
allowed under the rules prevailing at the time. Exhibition rules for works of sculpture were rigorous,
in ways unthinkable today. Figurative sculpture, the RA reasoned, was either well modelled or badly
modelled and its presentation within a certain format and genre, and was to be assessed on the quality
of its interpretation. Vyse exhibited a group work titled The Kiss RA1857, a sensitive study of a nude
couple caught up in an intimate embrace (see page 9). A second figure Aphrodite RA782, also a nude,
the whereabouts of this work is presently unknown. His final exhibit, was a portrait statuette of
Elizabeth Gurney Fry, RA1759 (1780 1845). Desmond Eyles, in his book Royal Doulton Figures,

27. The Issue Of Capital Punishment
Rough Draft Essay Gaven D. Crosby Pennsylvania College of Technology In this paper, I will write
on the topic of capital punishment, more specifically what to do if someone has been wrongfully
executed. I will speak about what circumstances I feel should warrant a case be reopened and how to
make it right, if it is determined that someone has been wrongfully put to death for a crime they did
not commit. I will also discuss reparations for the families of the wrongfully executed. I will also
discuss who I feel should be handling these types of cases. Have you ever heard about someone being

Some examples of wrongful execution cases are Leo Jones, Timothy Evans, Claude Jones, Larry
Griffin, David Spence, and these are just a few. All of these people were put to death because of either
hastiness, lack of technology, lack of will to find the truth, corruption and politics, or general human
error. While only the defendant was killed in these cases, it hurt many others. The parents of the
convicted, the spouses of the convicted, the children of the convicted, the friends of the convicted and
in all the reputation of the family of the convicted. This is why we need to ensure that we have 100%
accuracy and know all of the facts before putting someone to death. While I do feel that we need to
put a lot of effort into ensuring accuracy prior to death, I do not feel as though the same amount
should be applied to cases after execution. I believe that if we make sure we are convicting the right
person before we execute them, then we shouldn t have to put as much effort into re opening cases of
the executed. I do however feel that there are certain cases that warrant a case be re opened. I feel that
cases where there is a suspicion that the wrong person was executed, should be opened. To elaborate
on that if police are ever unsure that the correct person was executed, there case needs to be re opened.
This can include cases where new evidence is discovered; cases where

28. The And Authority Of The New Testament Canon
The traditional interpretation of the development and authority of the New Testament canon is often a
topic of debate and scrutiny; however, Dr. Michael J. Kruger provided an excellent, well written
justification of how the New Testament canon came to be the 27 books known today. Kruger is
President and the Samuel C. Patterson Professor of New Testament and Early Christianity at
Reformed Theological Seminary in Charlotte, NC. Other publications include The Gospel of the
Savior, The Question of Canon, The Heresy of Orthodoxy, Gospel Fragments, and A Biblical
Theological Introduction to the New Testament. His written work has led him to be known as a
scholar in the origins of the New Testament Canon, in particular writings related to the New Testament
Canon.
For centuries people have been perplexed regarding the books of the New Testament canon. Many
Christians have accepted the 27 books in the New Testament Canon but often cannot provide adequate
justification regarding how the canon was established. In Canon Revisited: Establishing the Origins
and Authority of the New Testament Books, Michael J. Kruger provides readers with a glimpse of this
tough question and his response. He offers the readers a response to succinctly justify their acceptance
and understanding of the New Testament canon. In a few short chapters Kruger articulately confronted
this very difficult topic.
Michael Kruger s book is written in two sections on the topic of the canonical model. Section

Saving costs by not using advertising. Supply chain management plays an important role in the
success of this business model, for example the limited number of items (around 4,000 per store
compared to 10,000 for competitors) which are selected and decided upon how much to stock based
on an analysis of each item s ability to sell, allows Costco to have higher sales volumes for each item,
thus enabling Costco to gain more bulk discounts from suppliers. This strategy enabled Costco to be
the number one warehouse retailer in market share ahead of Wal Mart s Sam s Club (Cascio 2013).

different from the old (and cold) brick and mortar store centric retailing. The new retail is very
personal and very ubiquitous. The social networks now make or break brands and commerce is 24/7.
The customers have merged their views of retail: Physical stores, online stores, catalogs, call centers
and mobile. To them, irrespective of the channel they choose to interact with, they are dealing with a
single retailer and they expect consistent experience for sales, shipping, returns, brands, assortment,

30. Electricity Generation
Electricity generation is the process of creating electricity from other forms of energy.
The fundamental principles of electricity generation were discovered during the 1820s and early 1830s
by the British scientist Michael Faraday. His basic method is still used today: electricity is generated
by the movement of a loop of wire, or disc of copper between the poles of a magnet.[1]
For electric utilities, it is the first process in the delivery of electricity to consumers. The other
processes, electricity transmission, distribution, and electrical power storage and recovery using
pumped storage methods are normally carried out by the electrical power industry.

32. Birth Control History
This essay will examine the demand for and prevalence of contraceptives in the United States. The
history of birth control in the U.S. begins long before the infamous 1973 Roe vs. Wade Supreme Court
decision affirming the legality of abortion. Birth control has not always been accessible, safe or
reliable. Despite many myths, there are a multitude of reasons why a woman would choose to prevent
or end a pregnancy including not being able to support a child.
Before examining birth control, it s important to first dispel the myth that birth control and particularly
abortion is only sought by modern, unmarried women who are more promiscuous than women in
earlier ages. America was never abstinent. It s a myth that more teens and young adults have ... Show

Copyright infringement is the unmistakable reproduction of someone else s intellectual property. To
combat this issue, governments have passed many laws pertaining to the issue of online copyright and
piracy, though, these laws have not stopped people from committing online internet crimes. However,
those who commit copyright infringement online rarely know that they are committing a computer
crime because of how easy technology has made it to reproduce someone else s content. The
consequence of committing copyright infringement can vary from minuscule to drastic, typically
depending on how the two parties react. Regarding consequences, the ramifications that copyright, the
creator of the content to lose revenue and reputation; but they can gain popularity. Organizations
establish copyright rights over their intellectual property because companies are trying to protect and
prevent the reproduction of their creation or content. On the other hand, there are many creators that
do not know how to protect their property properly using copyright. This leads to the exploitation of
their content because they are unprotected by copyright laws. In order to protect a creator s content,
the creator must apply for copyright protection, which lasts for a limited period of time. Dan Burk, in
Copyright , explains a basic definition of copyright: a legal framework that protects some forms of
intellectual property. (Burk) Without copyright policies, a creator s property would not be

35. Examples Of Discrimination In Harry Potter
The Not so Wonderful Wizarding World
In the fictional world of Harry Potter Giants are vicious creatures that have killing in their nature,
house elves are born into slavery and compelled to serve a wizarding family until they die, and
mudbloods (wizards born by non magical parents) are untalented low class wizards, which are
unworthy of representing the wizarding community. Now although all these statements might ring true
in the ears of many wizards these statements are questioned and all proven unjust throughout the
Harry Potter series. Throughout the Harry Potter novels J.K. Rowling presents discrimination as an
ideology throughout the novels to show how discrimination is evident in the real world.

However, when comparing two pureblood children such as Draco Malfoy and Neville Longbottom
their characteristics could not be more opposite. Although a pureblood, Neville is usually described as
being an accident prone, slow learning wizard that is at the bottom of his class. In his failure to live up
to the pureblood expectation, Neville often becomes a target for bullying, and his family even worries
for a while that he could be a squib. Just like purebloods Muggle born wizards are equally stigmatized
and are often called the derogatory term of Mudblood because they are said to have dirty blood.
Unlike the stereotypes of being a pureblood Muggle borns are stereotyped as being less talented than
purebloods. However despite being Muggle born, Hermione proves to be more skilled in her magical
capabilities than most pureblood characters. In the Prisoner of Azkaban Lupin even says to Hermione,
You re the cleverest witch of your age I ve ever met (Azkaban 346).
Along with Rowling showing discrimination in the wizarding world between wizards she also shows
discrimination towards magical creatures. Racism is majorly institutionalized by the ministry of magic
through The Department for the Regulation and control of Magical Creatures (Order 130). One way
the Ministry of Magic shows racism is when Sirius explains how Dolores Umbridge, the Head of
