Tapasya Shukla created a short murder mystery film called "Champagne" for a school project in Media Studies. They used color schemes and lighting to represent the high society setting of the film. Through making the film, Tapasya's production skills developed as they learned about photography techniques like shots, angles, resolution and other technical aspects. As a real media text, the film could be distributed on social media platforms to engage audiences for a longer period of time due to the murder mystery genre. Tapasya integrated various technologies into the project like a Nikon D3200 camera, tripod, Tumblr for blogs, and sound editing software.

Our media product uses and challenges conventions of typical romance films by not having a set location and instead using flashing screen shots to create a sense of mystery. We developed new views on portraying romance in media by challenging dominant conventions and introducing new, emergent conventions to give the genre a fresh approach. A Strategic Approach: GenAI in Education
Artificial Intelligence (AI) technologies such as Generative AI, Image Generators and Large Language Models have had a dramatic impact on teaching, learning and assessment over the past 18 months. The most immediate threat AI posed was to Academic Integrity with Higher Education Institutes (HEIs) focusing their efforts on combating the use of GenAI in assessment. Guidelines were developed for staff and students, policies put in place too. Innovative educators have forged paths in the use of Generative AI for teaching, learning and assessments leading to pockets of transformation springing up across HEIs, often with little or no top-down guidance, support or direction.
This Gasta posits a strategic approach to integrating AI into HEIs to prepare staff, students and the curriculum for an evolving world and workplace. We will highlight the advantages of working with these technologies beyond the realm of teaching, learning and assessment by considering prompt engineering skills, industry impact, curriculum changes, and the need for staff upskilling. In contrast, not engaging strategically with Generative AI poses risks, including falling behind peers, missed opportunities and failing to ensure our graduates remain employable. The rapid evolution of AI technologies necessitates a proactive and strategic approach if we are to remain relevant.

- 2. How does your product use or challenge conventions and how does it represent social groups or issues?
- 3. We have used color schemes and artistic direction to represent the High-Society. We used daylight to vary the standard night setting. A convention is a way in which something is done The movie that we made is ‘Champagne’ which is a murder mystery. One Bollywood example of Murder Mystery includes-
- 4. How did your production skills develop throughout this project?
- 5. This project made me learn and discover a lot. Not only about the genre, but also how and what things must be done in order to make a film. The most creative and productive thing in all of this is photography. It is something I always had an interest, but never knew that there are certain rules and regulations in it too. Knowing about various shots-angles, camera pixels, resolutions and what options must be selected for certain things were such rules which I came across.
- 6. How does your product engage with audiences and how would it be distributed as a real media text?
- 7. The genre of the movie is a Murder Mystery, which helps the audience to stay engaged for a longer period of time. As a real media text I would probably release my film on social media as that’s the most convenient and a cheaper way. For example on Facebook, Putlocker, Twitter etc. Or else I would prefer to distribute my movie in a theatrical way
- 8. How did you integrate technologies-software, hardware and online-in this project?
- 9. I used Nikon D3200 and a tripod for our shoot I used Tumblr for my blogs Research on Shot division as well as the color schemes Sync sound Sounds were added to attract the audience towards our opening scene.
