The Rules Do Apply: Navigating HR ComplianceAggregage

HR Compliance is like a giant game of whack-a-mole. Once you think your company is compliant with all policies and procedures documented and in place, there’s a new or amended law, regulation, or final rule that pops up landing you back at ‘start.’ There are shifts, interpretations, and balancing acts to understanding compliance changes. Keeping up is not easy and it’s very time consuming.
This is a particular pain point for small HR departments, or HR departments of 1, that lack compliance teams and in-house labor attorneys. So, what do you do?
The goal of this webinar is to make you smarter in knowing what you should be focused on and the questions you should be asking. It will also provide you with resources for making compliance more manageable.
Objectives:
• Understand the regulatory landscape, including labor laws at the local, state, and federal levels
• Best practices for developing, implementing, and maintaining effective compliance programs
• Resources and strategies for staying informed about changes to labor laws, regulations, and compliance requirements

Sector snapshot
HR leaders from the CEE Business
Services sector have announced the
intention to increase the workforce
over the next 12 months.
• The CEE region is still the most attractive FDI location for Business
Services.
• There are almost 50 SSCs in Slovakia, more than 100 SSCs in
Hungary, more than 200 SSCs in Czech Republic and almost 940
SSCs in Poland.
• In the long run, employment growth is still anticipated in the
region. In the Czech Republic it is estimated that there will be
100,000 employees in SSC/BPO business in 2020, and 300,000
in SSC in Poland by 2020.
• In the Czech Republic SSC/BPO business, with approximately
75,000 employees, is the second biggest industry in the Czech
economy (after the automotive industry – approximately 115,000
employees).
• An interesting trend in the SSC/BPO business environment is
coming from engineering companies that have plants located
outside the biggest cities, and are also opening small internal
BSC´s in the location near to their plants.
• The SSCs which were established 3-4 years ago are now
transferring new projects into the CEE region. More mature SSCs
are sending junior roles to Manila or India and transferring more
complex roles to the CEE region.
• The Polish cities of Krakow, Lodz and Wroclaw are the fastest
growing locations, according to anticipated office space demand.
• In 2016 in Brno, 1.5x more square meters were rented than were
newly built.
• BREXIT may bring a new flow of investments to the CEE.
• Retaining current employees is now as important as attracting
new ones.
• Most of the SSC/BPOs are competing for the same Candidate
profiles, therefore employer branding is becoming more and
more important for successful talent acquisition strategies.
• Salaries are expected to grow by 5-8% during 2017.
6. The Most Desired Foreign Languages
in the CEE Region
Business Services sector and it’s demand for multilingual
candidates is now more challenging than ever before. Next
to English, which is now considered as a standard, today
the most desired language in Central Eastern Europe is
German.
Due to extremely high demand, German speakers are the
most difficult to find on the market - the demand is still
higher than a number of available talent, as most of the
companies are targeting candidates with a similar skillset.
Most employers are accepting B2-C1 level as sufficient but
many are pushed to accept even A2-B1 level for back office
roles such as AP, Travel & Expenses, Master data etc. and
offering language courses to improve language skills and
give added value to candidates.
Other most demanded languages such as French, Italian
and Spanish are not that challenging to find as in most
of the European cities there are lots of expats living and
working in SSC/BPO business. The most difficult to find
are Dutch and Nordic languages which are sometimes in
demand (more in Poland comparing to other locations). In
this case required proficiency level is high - native speaker
(C2) or level C1-B2.
Language premiums and relocation support are additional
candidate attraction support to help source potential
employees.
With the rising number of new SSC/BPO business coming
to CEE and increasing number of local companies creating
their own service centres, we are expecting an increase in
the demand for all languages mentioned above in 2017.
