Subject: Application for a 6-month internship
Dear Madam/ Sir,
I am writing to you about the possibility of undertaking a six-month internship in the financial
department at Technip starting xxxxx until the end of xxxxxx 2014. Currently, I am a second year
student at ESCE which is a leading Business School in Paris. Within the framework of my studies, I am
required to carry out an internship with a firm such as yours. Please find attached my C.V.
As you may see in my CV, I have already developed certain skills through my professional
experience and studies. This year I carried out a two-month internship at SQM, which is a SME
specialized in IT services. I was assigned to the finance department. Due the crisis the company had
lost clients and had to come up with new ways to cut costs. I carried out some research and analyzed
the accounts in order to put forward concrete solutions. The management implemented some of my
ideas and was able to reduce its overheads by five percent. I was also involved in prospecting new
clients for the company. This was a very enriching experience which allowed me to improve my
interpersonal as well as my organizational skills.
I am pragmatic, independent, determined and I particularly enjoy challenges. I also take
great pleasure in seeing projects through. I am convinced that my profile corresponds to the position
and that I could contribute usefully to your company. I am used to working in teams on projects in
order to develop the skills required in a company. Furthermore, my long term ambition is to join a
financial department as a management accountant.
