Ms. Megan Blood
Central Washington University
Recreation and Tourism Event Planning
It is with great enthusiasm to share my interest in applying for a position at your
company I am a junior at Central Washington University and currently a Resident
Assistant for UH&NSP. My major is Recreation and Tourism Event Planning with a
minor in Religious Studies.
I am tremendously interested in this job because I want to be a part of these
students lives and show them everything this university has to offer them. With
being a first generation college student I understand the issues and concerns that
one may experience when entering into college for the first time. With my prior
experiences and the experiences that I will have throughout the rest of my years in
college, I know that I can be a valuable resource to these students.. The Resident
Assistant position at Central Washington University has taught me a lot about what
it really means to be a mature adult and how to act like one. My experience with Trio
this year have also helped me with learning time management and how to balance
my workload and I feel that I can successfully pass these skills onto the business
week students.
I have already had personal experience with jobs similar to the Orientation
Leader position. When I was in high school I was a major part of my high school’s
orientation group called “Spart Crew”. This group of leading upper class students
assisted incoming freshman with their transition from middle school into high
school. Additionally, I was also very involved in many other leadership
organizations throughout my high school career. Volunteering for these groups
greatly prepared me with many skills and experiences that would benefit me in
many aspects of my life.
My top strengths are individualization, communication, restorative,
positivity, and woo. I use all of these strengths daily to make connections with the
people I interact with and I feel that my strengths help me make strong bonds with
the people I meet.
Thank you for taking the time to review my application and I am excited with
the opportunity to interview with you soon.
Sincerely
Megan Blood
