The focus of student teaching portfolio is observation of the learners, school structure and the community. The Pre-service teachers have been exposed to the school and classroom facilities and the organizational set up of the school. The Pre-service teachers shall observe the behavior of the learners in the actual learning environment. Based on these observations of learner’s pre-service teachers shall develop their understanding on feasible approaches to facilitate learning considering the various phases of growth and development.
This portfolio was made for the compilation of the output of the pre-service teacher during practice teaching. The content of this is useful for the teachers. The personal experiences of the pre-service teachers, sample lesson plan, instructional materials and other important details were published here. It is then published for the readers to understand the life of being a pre-service teacher.
The author of this portfolio is a pre-service teacher who taught at Coliling National High School. It will serve as the reference of pre-service teachers on their journey as they will be a real professional teacher soon.

entire
school

George
Washington
High
School

this
experience,

opportunity

collaborate

tutorial
program
for
students
in
need
of
extra
help,
facilitate
writing
workshops
for
college
application
essays
and
motivate
students
to
be
accountable
for
their
future
goals
after
high
school.
During
the
year,
I
was
able
to
develop
highly
effective
lesson
plans
and
unit
designs,
motivational
exercises,
and
performance
assessments,
both
formative
ad
summative,
in
order
to
measure
student
progress.
I
have
helped
students
improve
their
writing
scores
from
a
4th
grade
level
to
a
6th
grade
level
and
have
received
positive
feedback
from
parents
and
fellow
educators
alike
for
my
abilities
in
the
classroom.
I
have
also
been
improving
student
participation
in
the
classroom
through
integration
of
creative
role-‐‑playing
exercises
in
order
to
make
the
lessons
fun

engaging.

classroom,

everything

assessments

learner’s
specific

example,

my
students
are
ELLs
and
because
of
my
past
experience
working
with
ELL
students,

do
my
best

give
them
assignments
with
sentence
stems,
added
visuals,
both
verbal
and
written
instructions,
and
always
do
constant
checks
for
understanding
to
ensure
that
they
are
understanding
the
task
at
hand.
I
also
had
the
opportunity
to
guest
teach
at
a
myriad
of
schools
in
DPS
and
facilitate
as
an
AVID
tutor.
In
these
positions,
I
have
been
exposed
to
diverse
school
settings
and
students
alike.
Working
in
DPS
has
taught
me
the
true
meaning
of
equity

understanding
that
each

has
their
own
culture
and
