I
believe
passion
is
what
drives
us
as
educators,
mentors
and
role
models.
Without
it,
we
are
a
candle
without
a
flame.
Throughout
my
years
in
education,
I
have
had
teachers
who
have
been
my
own
personal
mentor
and
role
model;
they
are
a
huge
reason
why
I
am
where
I
am
at
today.
As
a
new
and
upcoming
high
school
teacher,
I
have
developed
a
pure
passion
and
personal
commitment
to
helping
my
students
succeed
and
will
go
to
the
ends
of
the
earth
to
advocate
for
them.
Each
student
deserves
to
be
treated
as
an
individual
and
has
their
own
passions
and
interests.
As
an
educator,
it
is
my
goal
to
always
keep
the
students’
needs
first.
Through
my
experience
as
a
student
teacher,
I
have
been
able
to
build
the
proper
rapport
and
relationships
with
each
student
and
get
to
know
them
better.
I
have
seen
how
crucial
my
role
is
inside
the
classroom,
but
I
have
also
seen
how
much
I
have
personally
learned
from
each
student.
I
have
had
the
privilege
of
student
teaching
for
an
entire
school
year
at
George
Washington
High
School
and
through
this
experience,
I
have
had
the
opportunity
to
collaborate
with
a
team
to
develop
a
tutorial
program
for
students
in
need
of
extra
help,
facilitate
writing
workshops
for
college
application
essays
and
motivate
students
to
be
accountable
for
their
future
goals
after
high
school.
During
the
year,
I
was
able
to
develop
highly
effective
lesson
plans
and
unit
designs,
motivational
exercises,
and
performance
assessments,
both
formative
ad
summative,
in
order
to
measure
student
progress.
I
have
helped
students
improve
their
writing
scores
from
a
4th
grade
level
to
a
6th
grade
level
and
have
received
positive
feedback
from
parents
and
fellow
educators
alike
for
my
abilities
in
the
classroom.
I
have
also
been
improving
student
participation
in
the
classroom
through
integration
of
creative
role-­‐‑playing
exercises
in
order
to
make
the
lessons
fun
and
engaging.
While
in
the
classroom,
I
am
always
asking
for
feedback
from
my
students,
in
order
to
continue
to
grow
as
an
educator
and
let
the
students
know
that
I
do
not
know
everything
and
I
can
learn
a
lot
from
them.
I
try
my
best
to
ensure
that
I
am
helping
each
student
learn
in
a
way
that
is
effective
for
them.
I
have
assessed
my
students
and
use
different
formats
when
doing
class
activities
and
assessments
for
each
learner’s
specific
needs.
For
example,
many
of
my
students
are
ELLs
and
because
of
my
past
experience
working
with
ELL
students,
I
do
my
best
to
give
them
assignments
with
sentence
stems,
added
visuals,
both
verbal
and
written
instructions,
and
always
do
constant
checks
for
understanding
to
ensure
that
they
are
understanding
the
task
at
hand.
I
also
had
the
opportunity
to
guest
teach
at
a
myriad
of
schools
in
DPS
and
facilitate
as
an
AVID
tutor.
In
these
positions,
I
have
been
exposed
to
diverse
school
settings
and
students
alike.
Working
in
DPS
has
taught
me
the
true
meaning
of
equity
and
understanding
that
each
person
has
their
own
culture
and
background,
yet
each
still
deserves
the
same
meaningful
education
and
invested
instructor.
After
reflecting
on
my
countless
experiences,
I
have
noticed
that
my
teaching
style
demonstrates
dedication
to
cultivating
a
positive
learning
environment
for
all
students
and
maximizing
individual
student
performance.
I
am
confident
that
my
background
and
relevant
experience
will
be
a
valuable
asset
to
this
school
district
and
I
look
