Grammatical Syllabus
• it is organized based on grammatical items or content. it is
traditionally used as the basis to plan general course especially for
beginning-level learner.
Functional Syllabus
• it organizes content around the communicative functions such as
requesting, complaining, suggesting and other communicative
functions.
Competency-based Syllabus
• it organizes its content based on the specification of the
competencies learners expected to master in relation to specific
situation and activities.

• The syllabus organizes the content based on the topic, themes, or other
content.
Situational Syllabus
• it is organized based on the language needed at particular situation, such

Task-based Syllabus
• The content is arranged based on the tasks that learners need to complete
in the target language.
Text-based Syllabus
• It organizes its content around texts and sample of extended discourse.
