To reply to a forum, users click on a forum topic to read instructions, then click "Add a new discussion topic" to reply, where they can add a subject, message, files if needed, and submit.
Moodle icons
Moodle uses icons to distinguish different course functions, including pages, lessons, files, assignments, external links, surveys, glossaries, forums, quizzes, folders, choices, books, and feedback. Not all courses will include every icon, but this guide provides explanations for common Moodle icons that may appear.
Engaging participants
To engage participants, instructors should link new knowledge to participants' prior experiences, understand participants' goals for the course, and find out what stimulates individual interests. Instructors can personalize learning by discovering participants' goals and shaping assignments around topics participants enjoy, like movies. Allowing participants to freely share challenges and discussing real-life scenarios helps create trust and shows relevance of the material.
Course backup and restore
The document discusses backing up and restoring courses in Moodle. It explains that course backups can include some or all course content and activities, and that backups are typically scheduled by the site administrator. Instructors can also create backups for safekeeping or to use on another course. Manage enrollment

Adding content
As you add content to your course, it is best to first make an outline organizing your topics, subtopics, activities, and resources. This will help structure your course and make setup easier. When ready to add content, turn on editing and enter topic names and descriptions to inform students. You can then add subtopics labeled under topics and include activities and resources under each subcategory. Be sure not to overdo font types and leave white space until more is added later.
Tiny mce editor
TinyMCE Editor provides many options for formatting and editing text. It can be expanded by clicking the top left corner to access options like bold, italic, bullet lists, links, fonts, tables, and more. HTML tags can be used to style text, and URLs will automatically be turned into clickable links. However, JavaScript and VBScript will be removed for security.
Basic forum documentaton
There are four basic types of forums that can be used for instructor and student collaboration on a course site. A standard forum allows anyone to start new topics at any time and is generally the most flexible. A Q&A forum has students post questions and only see other replies after posting their own answer. The other two types restrict students to only one discussion post each or consolidate all replies to a single topic on one page. Instructors can choose whether forums are graded by just themselves or involve peer assessment as well.
Profile settings
Setting up your profile on KPScholar allows you to change your password, specify your city and time zone. Users first click "My Account" then "Edit" to access profile settings where they can update this information before saving changes.
Logging into KPScholar
To log into the KP Portal, enter your username and password at KPScholar.com. Upon first login, you will be prompted to change your password by clicking My Account, Edit, and following password complexity rules of at least 6 characters including uppercase letters, lowercase letters, numbers, and punctuation. You can also update your city and time zone before saving and accessing courses under My Courses.
Editor
The document discusses the features and formatting options available in the TinyMCE editor. Blocks are items that can be added to courses to assist students. A Calendar Block can be used to show students when assignments are due. To add a block, turn editing on, scroll down to the Add Block section, and choose from the available block options.

Course administration
- 1. Course Administration Here you have the Course Administration Block. This is listed on the left side of your course. As you can see you have many options listed in this block.
- 2. Course Edit Turn editing on: This feature lets us edit our course and add activities, quizzes, lessons, and many more items to the course. Edit settings: This allows us to make course edits like adding a course description, more weeks or topics to your course, theme, and file size.
- 3. Users Users: You are able to see what users are enrolled in your course, Set up Groups for your course, Enroll users in your course, and setup permissions for users.
- 4. Reports Reports: These provide different reports in your course. You can see what students log into the course, what they were working on, and get a course participation report.
- 5. Grades Grades: This is a quick entry to your gradebook. You can setup how you want your gradebook to calculate and set up categories. You can even enter manual grades.
- 6. Badges Badges: Badges are a good way of achievement and progress. Badges may be awarded based on a variety of resources. Badges created in Moodle can be displayed on a persons profile or pushed to their Open Badge Backpack and Mozilla’s Open Badge. These are presented in a persons backpack and will display in their Moodle profile.
- 7. Backup, Restore, Import Backup: As an Instructor you will be able to backup your course. You can save selected options or the entire course. You can even download the backups. Restore: You can restore a backup file at any time to a course that you have permission too. Import: You may import activities and resources from another course you have editing rights too.
- 8. Publish and Reset Publish: A community hub is a place that you can publish your courses. Reset: You can reset your course of user data and keep resources and other settings.
- 9. Question Bank Question Bank: You can import and export questions, add new questions, and set categories in your course.
- 10. Repository and Legacy Course Files Repositories: People can upload files, you can add files from Google docs and other external repositories. Legacy Course Files: Files are stored in different areas, instead of together in the course files area.
