• School Wide Social Skills Program – I will give you the monthly creeds
Anticipated Programs for 2016-2017
• Which College is your SuperPower? Fridays- teachers will
receive a form to fill out about their colleges and I will read
information during morning announcements only on Friday’s.
The colleges along with pictures will be posted across from the
library to be displayed all year. This include teachers pictures
as well.
• I was also thinking about getting the students involved by
having a basket in the cafeteria where the students can drop
names in of colleges that they would like me to discuss.
• Chuck E Cheese Night- Fall/ Spring – INVEST HOURS
• Staff works at McDonald’s for 3 hours

• No Place for Hate- Anti- Defamation League: developing a
Community of Respect for all students regardless of
background or personal biases .( We are the first Aldine School)

the Coalition Members.
• Teacher’s will be given a Referral form that will need to
be completed before the process begins. Please make
sure you have contacted the parent prior to sending
referral to the counselor.
• Email me if you need a form. Once you have completed
the form, place it in the mailbox outside my door facing
the opposite side or fold it . (So, we are not disclosing
student’s info)
• If it is an Emergency please see me ASAP, or send me
an E-mail. Give me a 24-48 hour turn around time.

• Sometimes we get caught up in disclosing
privileged information.
• Please only disclose information to Staff
Members/ Outside Personnel that relates to
the best interest of the student. Please Do
Not Discuss Any Information with other
teachers that do not interact with that

only on a “Need to Know Basis”.

Failure to report
• Texas Family Code 261.109 Failure to
Report
– A person commits an offense if the person
has cause to believe that a child’s physical or
mental health or welfare has been or may be
adversely affected by abuse or neglect and
knowingly fails to report as provided in this
chapter. The offense is a Class B
misdemeanor (up to 180 days in jail and/or
$1,500 fine).
• Texas Family Code 261.101 Persons
Required to Report
– A person (anyone) having cause to believe
that a child has been abused or neglected
shall make a report within 48 hours of
suspecting that the child has been abused or
neglected. The professional may NOT
delegate to or rely upon another person to
make the report. In Aldine I.S.D. it’s 24
hours!!!

Schedule
• I’m not on rotation this year.
• This year I will be scheduling Guidance Lessons
for K-4th
! Each lesson will be in 30min blocks.
• If I am called in a crisis situation, I will
reschedule with your class. Therefore, if I am not
there with the first 5 mins please precede with
your schedule.
• However, I will still do a lesson or lessons with
your class upon request. I have a form that you
will need to fill out.
• I will sit in on Parent Conferences if I am
needed.

Why Should We Care?
Schools must ensure nondiscrimination.
Staff must fully understand requirements and implement
them to ensure student success.
Not implementing the requirements violates the law and
can be costly.

Failure to report • Texas Family Code 261.109 Failure to Report – A person commits an offense if the person has cause to believe that a child’s physical or mental health or welfare has been or may be adversely affected by abuse or neglect and knowingly fails to report as provided in this chapter. The offense is a Class B misdemeanor (up to 180 days in jail and/or $1,500 fine).

  • 25. Schedule • I’m not on rotation this year. • This year I will be scheduling Guidance Lessons for K-4th ! Each lesson will be in 30min blocks. • If I am called in a crisis situation, I will reschedule with your class. Therefore, if I am not there with the first 5 mins please precede with your schedule. • However, I will still do a lesson or lessons with your class upon request. I have a form that you will need to fill out. • I will sit in on Parent Conferences if I am needed.
