Suits:

helptoconvey the group’sprofessionalismand,thus,createsapositive representationforthe
mannerinwhichtheywill conductthemselves. Furthermore, suitsare oftenseenasthe attire of
successful men;makingBenandJordanappearinthe same light.
Vietnamese HatandRags:
Thiswill be the clothingof VinLyee andhisfamily.Inorderto provide asaccurate a representation
as possible (astocomplywiththe conventionsof adocumentary),we have analysedmultipleimages
of Vietnamese rice farmersandhave foundthatthese are the mostcommonclothesworn. The hat
will helptohidVinLyee’sface,thus,addedfurthermysterytothe character(whichwill alreadyhave
beencreatedthroughhisambiguousbackstory).Furthermore,hiscreasedanddirtyshirtwill show
himas a hardworkingmanand,ontop of this,highlighthisdarkandtroubledpast(withthe scars

2. Hoodies,tracksuitsandtrainers:
Thiswill be the outfitof the large majorityof the gang membersinourdocumentary.Despite being
verystereotypical (whichisstillrequiredasaconventionof thisgenre),we feltthere was an
opportunityforeachcharacter to still have adistinctpersonality.Thiswillbe achieved through
pickinga diverse range of coloursandstylesforthe members’attires.Forexample, duringinterview
scenes,the gangmemberbeingquestionedwill wearablackhoodie because thisblendsinwellwith
the darkenedroomand,in turn, givesthe charactera more mysteriousandmenacinglook.
